Beautifully decorated, restored. An amazing shower, it makes all the difference.
Thought that the food on the terrace was a bit basic for a lot of money.

The location is absolutely stunning on the Ebro river in a beautiful small town. Fantastic restaurant also with very helpful and attentive staff.

Very nice location - the terrase just above the river Ebro is magnificent. Staff is friendly and they serve a very good breakfast.

The staff was extraordinary; they were helpful, and made us feel at home. The location is excellent, and the restaurant is fantastic.
In the room, we would have preferred an enclosed/private bathroom area.

A booking for two rooms had been confirmed by the hotel through Booking.Com. Only one reservation was shown in my account with Booking. Com The reception staff at the time of check were not very helpful and or understanding referring me to booking.com to resolve the issue. I did this and booking .com requested that no cancellation charge be made, this was accepted with some reluctance by the hotel. Other staff were more helpful.

The location on the river is incredible. The room was big and modern. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Food and service in the restaurant was very good. The patio overlooking the river is a wonderful place to relax, read, have a drink. The cellar/bodega which is probably 400 years old is worth seeing.
We were on the street side with another building's wall about 15 feet away so the room was dark. Ask for a river view.

The location was excellent for exploring the Rioja region and so beautiful by the river. The food in the restaurant and also at breakfast was really tasty and the staff were very helpful with our questions; inc. help with organising laundry and booking taxis.
The pillows were really hard and uncomfortable, but it did not affect our stay

Situated on the River Ebro with a pathway walk into Haro where you arrive at all the famous & popular wine houses!
We walked the 3km and after some coffee & wine in the Old Town Square took a taxi back. CAUTION - had to get the Tourist Office to arrange one!
Not easy. Parking outside the hotel - free & easy & very safe!!
The food in the restaurant is just top drawer. Delicious food - totally unexpected. As it is reasonably small ensure to make a reservation!!!
Nothing!

It was in the absolutely gorgeous village of Brinas and really close to Haro in the La Rioja region of Spain.

Great location and views. Great room, with balcony, sufficient storage. Good breakfast. We did overall enjoy our stay there.
Little things, like no where to hang towels (except in the small toilet! Toiletries in bathroom hadn't been refreshed- someones used body lotion was left. Empty conditioner. No chairs on balcony, so had to ask for them. And to be fair they did provide them later. Maybe my expectations were too high, considering it was expensive. Also, restaurant was probably a little overpriced for what was being offered.

Location is picturesque on the banks of the Ebro river although riverside walks are limited. Breakfast was functional but not exceptional
Arriving at the hotel in what is a sleepy hamlet we pulled up outside to offload our bags, there was no-one around so I went in to be told that there was no porter, ok. Back outside a an elderly Spanish gentleman was screaming unintelligibly in our direction. He continued to do so as I lugged our bags inside. A lady who happened to be close by came to reason with the man but by this time he was in a state of high frenzy and continued his screaming rant. I didn't need a translation to work out the international language for 'you can't park there'. Despite his best efforts the gentleman failed to burst a blood vessel during the two or three minutes I was offloading, before finding a side street to park in
It wasn't the sort of welcome one expects, and the receptionist's half-baked apology that 'he is just crazy' whilst sitting behind her desk the entire time was more Fawlty Towers than Four Star or whatever rating this hotel is.
Interestingly their website boasts 'complimentary valet parking.' They might want to revisit that.

This was our second visit to Hotel Palacio Tondon in less than two months. This hotel is in an excellent location to visit the various bodegas in and around the Rioja. The staff are helpful, friendly and so accommodating. Dinner in the Hotel Restaurant was excellent as was breakfast. We have to mention Borja, the young maître d’hôtel who was professional, informative and charming.
The hotel itself is beautifully decorated, incorporating the old with a gentle modern take ..
As one can see from my review, I cannot rate this hotel highly enough.

The hotel is modern and kept extremely well. The interactions with staff were all very positive, friendly and helpful. The views over the River Ebro were beautiful. The food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast.
There is no pool or spa facilities.

Beautiful location in a quiet village (or was in early March). The hotel’s renovations have been done exceptionally well. My sister was in a room with two small dogs - they loved the river walk in front of the hotel. The scenery around the village is stunning. We had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant (lovely relaxing decor) after a couple of glasses of wine in the bar. It was a regret we were driving back to the UK and not on a holiday to explore the area properly.
My sister has mobility issues and was assigned a room adjacent to the lift. Her only complaint was that the bathroom (set out for the disabled) needed a shelf for toiletries.
We both felt the rooms were too warm and had to open windows to get the temperature down to a more comfortable level. Minor observations.

very quiet little town with perfect road access to the surrounding cities. perfect location next to the river
the room temperature was difficult to adjust due to the lack of AC at the time but opening the windows worked well

The hotel design is fantastic. The location on the river with terrace bar is unforgettable. Special thanks to both waiters at the terrace bar for excellent service and profound conversations about wines!
The room is scarcely equipped for the money: nothing provided in the bathroom, no tea/coffee pot. Some reception staff is unfriendly. Great room available for wine tasting but no wine tastings are organized, and if asked, no interest. Restaurant empty and not cozy. Breakfast quite modest for the money, staff at breakfast unprofessional and busy with themselves. Overall, with such a great design there is so much more one could do at this hotel!

beautiful location for this excellent renovation. quiet village close to wineries
it’s a shame that our group was not able to eat “a La carte” in the restaurant - we were obliged to have a tasting menu of six courses.
