What an amazing place, six of us & a dog, booked this to celebrate a family members 85th birthday & we had a really great time, so many objects to admire & discuss. Still spotting new stuff on our day of departure. If you're after something a bit different but with a touch of class then this is it !
It's a little bit pricey, but maybe it needs to be ?

We absolutely loved the cottage. The downstairs is bonkers and eclectic. Loved the original WC! The upstairs is calm and beautifully decorated. The garden is beautifully kept with fabulous views over the bay and fairy lights in the evening which makes it look magical. The location is spot on.
Niggles really because we loved it so much. Not enough hot water for 7 people so we had to keep using the booster button and orchestrate showers. The Aga was off and the electric oven burned stuff. The log burner in the kitchen didn't work which meant we had to keep the heating going as it was a v cold weekend.

The location was within walking distance to town, beach, pubs & places to eat. but still quiet. There was a blues festival the weekend we stayed which was an added bonus. people were really friendly. The property and gardens were amazing. Comfortable beds and plenty of room for the six of us to not be on top of each other. lots of quirky furnishings and ornaments all to a high standard. would definitely stay again. we could see the sea from the cottage which was so lovely
Nothing. we did have an electrical issue on arrival but Stephen had an electrician out within 20 mins to have it fixed. TV buffered quite a bit and washing machine and tumble drier stopped working but none of these issues prevented us from loving the cottage

Loved the homely feel of the house, very quirky and interesting decor. Beautiful bathrooms. Very warm and cosy. Great location for walking to the beach, shops and restaurants.
The hot water was never on so we had to boost it every morning and wait for it to heat up. It should be set to be on all day. There weren’t enough glasses or mugs. The dishwasher wouldn’t be full before we’d run out.

We liked where it was, it’s a steep hill but worth the views and convenience. Although it wasn’t a home for comfort or relaxation.
The property to us, felt very busy. Very full, complicated. This property is not suitable for children or tall adults. And it needs a real clean! Our bedspreads were stained and disgusting, this house is cultural, different and obviously someone’s happy place. But not ours, it’s in need of some declutterring and a real clear out of dangerous objects!

Quirky ornaments and fixings, superb views and house.lovely gardens. Easy on street parking.
Hot water only set to come on in evening meant that all had a cold shower when returning in late afternoon

Amazing and very unique House with stunning views ! Beautiful Garden …
This property is full of antiques and never seen so many precious things in a one place !
Property is v close to beach and walkable distance to all restaurants shops etc
We left new pair of shoes at the property and Owner kindly posted it to us which was very admirable.
Nothing major but worth mentioning
Gardner visited when we there and we felt it a bit unprofessional. But we were going out so didn’t mater much but would not have preferred that if we wanted to stay back and enjoy the garden and property !

Great location, a five minute walk into town, although this was up/down quite a steep hill so may not be good for anyone who would find that difficult. Amazing views of the bay from upstairs. The cottage itself is really lovely, very contemporary inside, beautiful design and the walled garden is a haven, it was quite windy when we visited and the garden was a sun trap.
The parking can be a little difficult, there is no off street parking and the road next to the cottage is difficult to find a space on.

stunning views of the harbour. amazing garden and really unique & fun interior design. very relaxing property.
street parking was ok for us but can imagine it can get v busy in the summer so might end up parking some distance away.

Location was very good.
The decor and eclectic mix of objects.
Lovely garden.
It was a big house so could be a little cold in very cold weather.

What an amazing property. Very spacious. Very well equipped with everything you need.
Short walk into town and the sea.
Perfect if you have pets.
Would highly recommend.

It was a beautiful house with lots of nice touches such as shampoo and bodywash, plenty of handsoap where needed. Sensor lights in the hallway. Nice big bath towels.
Communication was very good.
I would have liked hand towels at the sinks for drying hands.

Truly magnificent, unusual internal decore including sumptupus beds, generous bathrooms, theatrical collections of shells, glass, antlers, art. Don't mention the boxer in the room. Totally wonderful but intimate designer garden with many places to sit. Like Beauty & the Beast's place.

Fabulous house in a great location with the most beautiful gardens
No hand towels provided or a coffee machine (which was shown in the photos)

lovely quirky house with lots of character and very comfortable. lovely a warm too.
we found the kitchen quite impractical as there is practically no worktop space to prepare food. the kitchen hasn’t been thought out well and is too overcrowded.

The Cottage was amazing and in a great location. Everything you could need was available.

A television in the master bedroom ?

The proximity to the beach, shops and centre of town. The property was large enough for everyone to have their own space and the kitchen was well equipped for a group of seven to self cater. The garden was fantastic with sun loungers and plenty of outdoor furniture.
Although parking wasn't within the property we were able to park close to the house in Queens Road, even in August.
One oven didn't seem to be working,

The gardens are beautifully kept and a great size to relax in. The house is a perfect size for our party, with a bathrooms/ensuite per bedroom. The house and garden also had great privacy with a tall wall surrounding the property. The property is also a 10 minute walk down to Swanage, making it easy to visit the town and nearby landmarks. We had a couple of issues that we needed to contact the owner with and the issues that we requested to be dealt with were properly addressed.
This property has the potential to be excellent. The biggest disappointment however, was the level of cleanliness and the need for interior TLC. The owner has been made aware of this (we were pleased with the level of communication), and he will raise the issue with the cleaning company he employs. The house is also not the most family friendly due to the nature of some of the décor, we had a child under 5.

Clarence cottage really is magnificent.
Very spacious and comfortable.
Lovely details from the antlers to the gorgeous Plum & Ashby scents and toiletries - just gorgeous!
A secret oasis in the centre of town.

Beautiful property inside and out. Quiet location just a few minutes walk to the centre. Loved the interior decor and walled garden. We had no problem with parking.

Lots of interesting rooms and objects to keep your eyes busy. The garden was equally interesting with excellent views.
The location was perfect to explore Swanage by foot.
There was nothing to dislike.

Beautiful cottage, lovely secure garden. Excellent value for money. Great location close to shops, restaurants and the seafront.

Stunning property! Extremely comfortable and spacious! Great location! Perfect for a family celebration!
No off street parking and although there was space in the road it was quite some way from the property.
4.5
Excellent property with great facilities.
Lots of quirky things to keep you interested throughout your stay. The kitchen was stocked with good quality equipment and lovely crockery. Bathrooms were all superb, stocked with nice toiletries for you to use. Lovely bedrooms with nice bed linen and towels. Great location, only a short walk to the town centre. Would definitely recommend staying here for a family or friends break.
The only thing I would like to mention is that if you are a taller person, please be careful when walking past the stag head horns on the walls, they are very sharp!!
