About this apartment rental
Located on the top floor of a 5-floor-house in 77A, Tho Nhuom street, Hanoi, Vietnam, this 50 m2 apartment belongs to a friendly Hanoian family. The family includes 3 generations: a over 90-year-old grandfather, retired husband and wife and two over twenty-nine-year-old sons who work in Hanoi and one of them is married. The grandfather speaks French, the husband and the sons and a daughter in law can speak English fluently. The wife, who speaks English a little, is an excellent cook and has great hospitality. The apartment shares stairs with the family. Main entrances keys will be provided for guests.
The house locates in a very central Hoan Kiem District. It is about one kilometer from Hoan Kiem lake and Trang Tien plaza. The neighbourhood is safe and very friendly
The apartment includes 1 bed room, 1 living room and 1 kitchen with modern equipment to ensure guests comfort.
The bed room has 2 windows, 1 double bed, 1 TV, 1 desk, 2 desk lights, 1 closet (including a safe), 1 air-conditioner, 1 wall fan and a toilet.
The living room also has 2 windows, 1 set of Vietnamese antique table and chairs, 2 desks, 1 air-conditioner, 1 stand fan, 1 stand lamp and 1 desk lamp.
The kitchen has 1 window, 1 door that leads to the balcony, 1 fridge, 1 microwave oven, 1 gas stove, 1 set of dining table (1 table and 4 chairs), cooking tools and a wall fan.
The rooftop, which is used to grow fresh and healthy vegetables, can also be a place to relax and enjoy a nice view of Hanoi new Muong Thanh hotel, a new building of Viet Nam Investment and Development Bank and Hanoi rooftops.
The renting fee includes laundry, both wired and wire-less fast internet, gas for the stove, 2 bottles of 10-liters-drinking water per month and 1 family dinner with the family every weekend. The fee does not include electricity fee (the electricity bill is around $20 to $35 per month, and is higher if air-conditioners are used, according to the previous guests).

I had a terrific home stay experience with a super nice Vietnamese family.
Very comfortable home stay and the host speaks very good english and very helpful to enjoy your stay in Hanoi.
If you stay more than a week, you get an opportunity to have a family meal with the home stay family. The host mother is an awesome cook. If you want to practice your Vietnamese, the host mother is very helpful for you to learn Vietnamese.
On the 5th floor you have a nice spacious queen size bed room with TV, fun, air conditioning, your own toilet and shower, your own kitchen, fridge and microwave oven.
you got a completely your own privacy.
There are 2 common washing machines you use with the family.
I strongly recommend that you stay with this family for a long period of time.
It is wise to make a booking well in advance as this place is always fully booked out.

Our hosts were amazing and very helpful. Nice family with such helpful advice, we benefited greatly from our experience with them. Would recommend to anyone who wants a true vietnam experience. We enjoyed so much our family dinners and wow what a great cook Hue is. Phong was so very helpful and funny, he gave us lists of good places to eat in the old quarter, helped us call taxis and generally was a superior host.. The stairs were good for us after all the great food we had we needed some exercise.

The whole stay was wonderful - The apartment was spacey and very clean and Phong even provided us with a big stand of drinking water and some bananas.
On top of that he invited us to eat with his family for this incredible feast (there's really no other word) which my boyfriend and I loved. They also have a very tiny dog called SamSam who will love to meet you :)
The apartment got cleaned every two days and the cleaning lady even did our washing for us.
The wifi was fast and reliable and there was a stocked kitchen we did a bit of cooking in. The location is near the lake and you can walk into the old quarter in about 15 minutes - though we weren't ever rushing so it could probably be less time!
Phong went out of his way to help me and even booked me two taxis saving me $10 dollars each time!
The only thing that was an issue was some noisy building work going on outside our window during the stay - I thoroughly reccomend this place and would love to return, but it'd be worth checking if the work is still going on.
