Coziness, dog friendly, old time vibe. Great location
Relaxed ambiance.
Sugar ants. A few bugs. Blankets were too heavy. Better bedding would be good. I slept in sleeping bag.

The cabin was charming and had everything I needed. It was also squeaky clean!

The bed and bedding were really comfortable.
3.0
Location, parking, staff, amenities (refrigerator, A/C and heater, microwave), large room, comfortable bed, bathroom water temperature and pressure.
There is no sink in the bathroom, so you should wash your hands in the kitchen sink! Upon entering the room, there was a strong smell of perhaps paint. Doesn't seem room cleaning is carried out rigorously, as we saw patches of spider web in a few corners. It's in the middle of trees, so it's normal to have spiders in the room, but it should be better cleaned.

The location was perfect for our vacation, central to everything we wanted to do. The fact it was a separate cabin afforded us some peace and quiet from potentially noisy neighbors, though we didn't have any our entire stay. Walking in I knew we could spend our whole vacation there and not feel cramped for space. It's rustic, some call it dated, but that's one of the things I love about it. It had everything a person would need for a stay. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom surprisingly spacious.
There were only two things that were negatives, as far as I could see. First, the traffic noise, which they have no control over. Rt 1 on one side, I-95 on the other, it's the way it is. The other is the microwave. It wouldn't work for more than 30 seconds at a time. Really annoying. But I get it, old wiring doesn't always do well with modern appliances.

Good location, close to LL Bean
The room smelled like a cigarette, there were multiple hairs in the bed linens and the doors between rooms did not close

This was our third visit, It is always clean, The location is close to everything you need or want to do. The staff has always great to deal with. They have been doing a lot of improvements around the property. Plus they are dog friendly so it makes it easy for us as we always have our dog with us.
Everything was fine.

the cabin was cute, very clean, nicely supplied and served my purpose
that it backed up to the interstate and it sounded as if semis and trucks were going through the cabin all night long. no internet.

Location is great
Smell of smoke from the fireplace used previously and the bed was to soft for me, but overall for the money it is alright.

Its a very nice place to stay. Our own little cottage.

There wasn't a lot to like about this stay. While we appreciated the privacy of having a cabin to ourselves, this was offset by some of the minuses we ran into. We would not recommend.
Broken hinge on toilet seat, window pane missing, and the total lack of internet service. We were in cabin 20 which is a pretty far distance from the office, but they shouldn't promise what they can't provide.

Not included with this reservation.
The refrigerator was open upon our arrival in order to attempt to defrost the freezer which was overrun with ice. It was obvious that it had not been defrosted in quite some time. We had to forcibly close the door but then opted not to use the frig as we were uncomfortable putting food in it.

Delighted to see these accommodations were in fact individual cabins and not motel rooms. Very quaint units with comfortable beds. On next trip to Maine, we will definitely stay here again and not just for one night as this visit was.

Staff was very pleasant and helpful for future stays at this location. Cottage was cute and clean.
We weren’t there very long. Have nothing bad to say.

Location was good. Ful range of facilities.
A little outdated.

Not our first stay at the Maine Idyll Motor Court, and certainly not our last! It's just a very special place that turns back the hands of time somewhat with its feel and character. My husband and I both agree its like spending time at the summer cottages we visited as kids. Best nights sleep ever in the woodsy atmosphere! Fireplaces and real firewood ready for guests on the porches.
This visit, we noticed the poetry and art that decorates the cabin and depict the history of the family who've owned this property since the 1930's. It's definitely been a labor of love, carried on by the generations.
We're going back next month for one more stay before they close for the winter.
No complaints.

Location was beautiful, set right in the woods and not awfully far from Old Orchards Beach. The staff are super nice and friendly, and the cabins are well put together and even had silverware/dishware spotlessly cleaned.
The old thing that I could see someone possibly getting upset about was we found a few ants and the cabin did have a small stagnant smell. On that note though, it IS a cabin and ants are bound to get in, as for the stagnant smell, it was most likely up to circumstances out of control. Such as the last occupants or just no breeze though the windows

No breakfast
Hot water took forever and had little pressure when it did show up

Secluded and quiet… off the beaten path !
We were not disappointed

From the wooden floors and furniture to the very comfortable bed and the wonderful tiny kitchen and fireplace, these cabins are wonderful! Very clean and well maintained, with a friendly office staffer at check-in. And there were wooden rockers on the porch next to a stack of firewood ready for a cool evening. We will be back!

I loved the retro feel of my cabin
Too close to the highway noise

We lucked out by getting the corner cabin, clearly the most authentic and original of the bunch. From an era long ago, doorways are for small people. Interior entirely wood-paneled, jumbo-wide wood-planked floor, extraordinarily comfy bed, tiny but efficient bath including “orgasmatron” (look it up) shower, fireplace, table and chairs. Exterior rustic wood siding and small covered porch w bench to be out of the rain or enjoy the morning sun. Surrounded by big, beautiful trees. A gem. Highly recommend.
not a thing
