The quiet neighborhood is safe and secure. There is a restaurant, dive shop, national park, and an outdoor sunset bar all within a five minute walk!!!

Overall, it was a good place to stay. We would love to stay again because the location is perfect! When paddle boarding from your backyard is minutes away from three sister Springs and the island where everyone swims and hangs out it’s perfect when you don’t have a boat! The only 2 negatives we have are the beds are very worn and I would suggest hiring a new cleaning company because it wasn’t very clean however we still had a great time.

We stayed at this property to do some scuba and kayaking around King’s Bay and the Rainbow River. First, the positives. The location is excellent! There are kayaks that you can put into the canal behind the rental that is a short paddle from the spring-fed lagoon at the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. You can only paddle or swim in from the canal. I also scuba-dived the Rainbow River, a short drive away. There are some great restaurants a short drive away. The rental has everything you need if you are focused on life support to get you outside enjoying nature. The down side: this rental is feeling a bit dated and worn out. A fresh coat of paint and a good look at maintenance are due. The kayaks float, but the seats are a mess. One of the docks is off limits due to maintenance issues. Would I rent here again? Yes. Would I look around for something a little “fresher?” Definitely.

Not too fancy, but nice and homey. Great location. You share a building with three other condos, but the folks were friendly and you’re only down the canal from the Springs.
Only downside was the kayaks need some maintenance, but they got us where we wanted to go!

We are minimalists leaving on a boat and so staying at Pete’s condo was a treat for us, knowing that we would be a few paddles away from three sisters springs. Not only were we able to swim with a manatee from a distance being careful to not harass, We were able to see manatees off of Pete’s dock!

Condo is very close to three sisters springs and offers the use of 2 kayaks during your stay which is very convenient. The rental itself is clean and has what you need, but everything is very dated and well used. It could definitely use some updating and maintenance work. Overall we had fun and would recommend this place to others because it’s a great place to easily visit the manatees.

Master bedroom mattress and pillows could use an upgrade, however place was clean!!!

Pete was very nice. The property was acceptable, but the beds and pillows need to be updated. Pillows are almost completely flat and the only mattress that was ok, was the master bed. The twin beds were too worn and saggy. We lost wifi connection and it turns out to be located in the unit next to us. We were supposed to ask them to turn it off and on... however there were no guests in it at the time. The property location is perfect if you want to see the Manatees. However, no one told us the canal behind the unit and connecting springs/bay was so murky, that you couldn't see anything at all. We would have rescheduled it for a time when we could see them so the expense of the trip was worth while.

We stayed here for a few days on our trip from New York to Florida. The environment and the people have been very nice. Pete has been able to give very valuable tips. The condo was a bit dusty and outdated but since you are on the road most of the time anyway, that was not a big problem. We unfortunately did not know that the Springs were closed and would have liked a note in the advertisement. All in all, it is to be recommended!

The biggest issue I had was the dock provided is in need of repair. The bumpers need repair or replacement. Some of the board's bumpers have fallen off and just hanging into the water, even a exposed nail. When docked or pulling in or out my boat was damaged with deep scratches in the gelcoat and decals. My boat also has bumpers but they weren't enough. I have 18' foot boat that was kind of a tough squeeze to get in or out. If your neighbor has a boat docked, it will block your entrance or exit and you have to get them to move for access to your dock

Our stay over memorial day weekend was so much fun. We always prefer to stay in a home vs a hotel so we have all the comfort and amenities we need. The villa is one of four with a completely fenced in back yard. Our dog loved being outside to say hi to the neighbors, birds, and manatees. The kayaks were easy to bring to the covered dock for launch. 3 sisters spring was at the end of the canal. We could walk to the marina for lunch or dinner. Great location. Will stay again.

We had a great stay at driftwood Villa's. It is a great loction and the property manager was very helpful and just a really nice guy. Manatees in the canal every morning, kayaks to use. Great little villa, clean and stocked with just about anything needed in the kitchen. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Being able to hop in a kayak in the back yard and paddle a short distance to two fresh spring areas was fantastic. As stated in other reviews, the property could use with a bit of updating but it is exactly as advertised, very reasonably priced and perfect for our needs.

Property could use a little refreshment from rental wear and tear but overall was a great location for paddling and casting light tackle for a surprisingly mixed bag of fresh and saltwater fish. Pete the owner is the most responsive VRBO owner / manager I’ve ever dealt with. He took care of minor issues in person AND called in a handyman quickly for a vent fan that someone had unplugged but I thought was broken. Neighborhood is so safe I could sleep with the doors unlocked (and I’m from north Jersey). Fishermen bring your light tackle / fly gear. You’ll be pleased to find Largemouth bass swimming alongside snook and small tarpon. Crazy fun. Oh and the manatee swimming is a bucket list thing too. Bravo Mr. Vega

After we booked we were sent a list of things to not expect and we were still disappointed.
Most kitchens have small necessities such as oil, salt and pepper, foil and/or coffee filters. The coffee maker was missing the basket and when I emailed the owner I was told I should have notified them to make it right but we were on a schedule. He also said he clears everything out after each rental for liability despite knowing he isn’t liable if someone gets sick.
The sheets were stained, bed seemed like it could break at any moment. All features are outdated and have a dingy feel. He justified it with the included kayaks but the other tenants and us were sharing on the one day we used them because theirs had a hole. We were only provided two towels and zero bathroom toiletries.
There was little effort put into this unit and it just feels neglected and the feel we got was “you should be happy with what you got”.
Far from what we have had with other stays. If you do stay make sure you plan time to do a walk through to make sure everything is clean and you’re not missing anything. Location is great and owner communication is quick.

Beautiful location. Outdoor space is great with kayaks available to use. Only a short, 5 minute kayak trip to the springs. The dock outside was quiet and peaceful with opportunities for bird watching and manatee spottting. As a note, there is no tv in the bedrooms and no hair dryer provided. This did not bother us much as we spent most of our time out doors

A perfect Vacation

Simply Perfect Location!!
We stayed here for a girls trip and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect. Our favorite part was the ease of getting the kayaks in the water and being able to go whether just for a quick paddle to three sisters or an all day adventure. The unique was perfect for our group giving each of us our own bed and room to stretch out. Any issues that came up the owner was wonder and quick to resolve it. We will definitely be coming back

Location location location!
Nice little condo, well equipped with all you need. Having the kayaks at our disposal meant everything bc you’re so close to 3 Sisters and you don’t have to deal with a kayak rental co and time limits. I liked getting out first thing in the morning and then again later with my daughter so that was *perfect* for us!
The layout of this little condo is great, checking in and out is super easy, I talked with the owner a few times bc I had questions regarding locking the slider, (it was a combo of old slider and operator error) and he was quick to respond and helpful. The neighbors were friendly, parking was easy.
We felt right at home, which is what I was looking for. Nothing fancy here, clean and comfy is the name of the game.
3 Sisters is beautiful and we had a fabulous tour swimming with the manatees, which was exactly what we wanted! Having the kayaks was such a nice bonus! Love the manual explaining everything and giving advice on best places to eat/things to do. This is a gem! (Pics don’t do it justice!) We would definitely love to come back.

Family trip
The condo itself isn’t much, it was pretty ran down and dirty. We had cockroaches in the kitchen, so everything had to be stored in the refrigerator. Sitting outside was fine, but we had spider webs/cob webs all over and dust. They could have sprayed things down outside. Repairs in the house was not professional. I’m my opinion the only thing it has is the water front access.

Crystal River Getaway
Overall a good experience. Was nice to have the water right at the edge of the property! Highly suggest snorkeling in the Three Sisters spring, this was a much better experience than going on a tour to see the manatees. The tour became crowded and the water in Crystal River was very murky. Three sisters spring was the perfect spot, for snorkeling and seeing a couple of manatees.
Two kayaks were provided, but the ones designated for our condo didn’t seem to be in the best shape and was told that previous renters said they leaked. Suggest bringing your own or renting. The upstairs room windows didn’t have enough covering, the curtains didn’t completely block visibility from anyone looking inside. You have no privacy from the the renters next door to you from the balcony upstairs. If your looking for something a little more secluded, this isn’t the place, as people were in our yard back and forth to get kayaks. Make sure to wear water shoes to the dock, it can be very slippery
Other than that, the place was clean and bed was more comfortable than I had read from previous reviews.

Perfect vacation getaway!
It was on my bucket list to swim with manatee. I had heard about Crystal River and talked my family into going. Everything was amazing! First..the property we stayed at was perfect. The rooms were clean and the view was beautiful. The beds were comfortable. The price was reasonable. It was "off season" for manatee, and yet every morning while I drank my coffee, a manatee peacefully swam by in the canal. The neighboring guests were friendly and we BBQ'd with them on the charcoal grills on the property. The property came with kayaks and I kayaked every day right down the canal to Three Sisters Spring - jump in for a swim and come back. We went on a manatee snorkeling dive through the Plantation Adventure, which I highly recommend. AH MAZING!!!!! I would highly recommend staying on this property with the comforts of home while using the tours at the Plantation resort -- such a better deal!

2nd time visiting this property as the location cannot be beat! Close to Three Sisters, kayaks, noodles & dive flag are added bonuses. Easy to take a quick trip to see manatees early or late in the day to miss tours and crowds. We rent extra kayaks from Paddles during our stays and they deliver & pick up right at the villa. Close to town and anything you might need.

The very best part of this property is how close it is to three sisters springs! I had a wonderful time climbing down the ladder into the canal behind the condo and swimming the short distance to hang out with the manatees. The property is as described in the listing.
