Myself, hubby and another couple stayed 4days and 5nights. The freighters going by on the River was amazing. Small fire in the fire ring and an adult beverage was perfect. Ventured out to Whitefish Pointe, Paradise, Tahquemenon Falls then to the Casino! Had a blast.

Amazing...we all fell in love with it and want to return next year. Nextdoor is the Captain of the Dragonfly a boat holding up to 5 people. Terrific custom boat tours. Don't miss this either!

This is our 2nd stay. Dolores is so sweet and super responsive any time we had a question. If you are a boat nerd, this place is for you. We saw 40 freighters during our week! Especially cool at night. The house is very clean and well stocked. We did a boat tour again with the neighbor, captain Al, which is highly recommended. The beds are amazing and i wanted to bring them home! Thank you for sharing your home with us to celebrate our 10th anniversary

This was our first stay at this property. When Delores said she has very thing, she really does! It was comfortable, spacious for our family of 5. Loved waking up to have coffee looking out at the water. IF I had one con...the beds are a bit challenging to get up onto. Very thankful for the bedside steps! We will be back!

This is the third year we have stayed here. Mrs. S is a wonderful hostess, by now I call her a friend! Our main purpose is to watch freighters, and this place does not disappoint.

This was the perfect place to experience the beauty of the Soo. We felt at home and enjoyed our coffee in the morning with the view of St. Mary's River. My only disappointed we didn't get to meet Dolores, my family has stayed at her property before and said she is a truly wonderful person.

The pictures and description were excellent, and it was even better in person. The host met us at the property and made us feel welcome. The river view with ship traffic was unbelievable.

This is the second time I have stayed at Deloris’s home. It remains a favorite. Spending the day watching the great freighters is a treat. Communication with Deloris is good with a quick response. The amenities are too many to mention. All our needs were met and having Deloris grocery shopping before arrival was a delight. She had the groceries in the house and in the refrigerator upon arrival. Will certainly return for another relaxing stay.

Peaceful 1 week stay on the beautiful St. Mary's river. Saw over 59 freighters! Lovely home. I forgot to ask if handicapped accessable, so harder for elderly people. My favorite was the terraced back patios to the water, and all the ducks! 2 eagles visited the island out by the river frequently. Deer sightings daily also. Miss it already.

This could not have been more perfect for our five-day getaway in the UP to visit our son who works and is finishing school in the Soo. We brought my parents with us, which made it much better than staying in a hotel. The amenities were bar none and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals in when we weren't enjoying the local cuisine. We loved being able to watch the freighters pass by while my dad tracked them on his app and logged them in his book. Saw lots of ducks and even deer on the island off the backyard. Very centrally located and easy to find. We would love to stay here again and hoping that we can since our son has made the Soo his new home and we plan to visit often. Truly a gem, like Dolores, who wanted to be sure that our stay was perfect.

A group of men in my family and I have a tradition to make it to the I-500 snowmobile race every year. We decided it was time to leave our long time "economy" grade hotel and secure a rental with more space and resources to enjoy the trip.
Dolores made us all feel so welcome in her home and was able to answer and address any questions or concerns during our stay. The house is kept stocked with way more "extras" than we are used to seeing. Dolores even shared some of her family history of living in the home, which was really interesting. I couldn't have asked for a better host. Waking up, grabbing a coffee and a book and sitting down and watching the sunrise on the river was priceless and the ultimate way to relax.
We will be locking this down for the I-500 race for as long as Dolores will have us.
Thank you!

Stayed at this property for about a week to visit family in the area for the holiday. First, was pleasantly surprised by the value. Although off season, very affordable given the size and location (water front) property. Dolores was very responsive to questions prior to and during our stay. She greeted us upon arrival which was so nice and made us feel so welcome. The property is beautiful from the lovely tall pines in the front, the unique design of the house, and the amazing views of the shipping channel. We loved watching the freighters come and go day and nite. And a resident Eagle that would perch for hours on the metal tower near the channel was fun to watch. We had everything we needed: linens, cookware, etc. Dolores agreed to do a grocery pick up for us and was very patient w/ the process when things didn't go as planned. She let my brother in law stop by w/ the groceries later that day. Very trusting. We really appreciated her kindness. The home is very comfortable and inviting. The fireplace in between two rooms was cozy. I would love to visit in the summer when we could enjoy the lovely back patio and water right out the back door. Would recommend this property. Thanks Dolores for everything!

Dolores was a delight to speak with. She came to greet us shortly after we arrived. Since she knew we were there for our anniversary, she brought us a delicious cake and cupcakes, which was sweet and thoughtful.
She showed us around her beautiful home, and provided instructions on where items were located and how things worked. We were welcome to use pretty much everything, and the kitchen was very well stocked.
We saved a lot of money by eating one or two meals in the home and only one meal out each day. There is a WalMart and Meijer within just a few miles.
The back yard of the house is amazing. The sights along the river were magical whether morning daytime or at night. I got some amazing photos there. It was interesting watching the giant freighters gliding past. There was a friendly flock of ducks that hung out just outside the yard.
The house is located right on the outskirts of Sault Ste Marie, and the Soo Locks area and downtown are very close.
The home and furnishings were clean and comfortable. The beds were so tall! But Ms. Dolores provided us with steps to get into them. Once we were up there, we slept peacefully.
It was a great benefit to have use of the garage to keep our car inside, so we stayed dry when we went in/out on the rainy days.
Highly recommend this property, the home feels peaceful and safe and loved.
