Bedrooms have separate entrances from the corridor/lanai for extra privacy and you can rent one individually. Amazing vacation! The house was perfect for our family of 6 especially being all adults! Pool was the icing! The patio area was our hangout rain or shine! We love how close it is to the beach and to our favorite restaurant the Cantarana( the Acai bowls are the best!)The property managers are the best! Very informative and helpful!

Casa Verde is a clean, comfortable, spacious property right on the beach in a fantastic gated community in Playa Grande. The pool is also fantastic - we spent our days lounging poolside with intermittent trips down to the pristine beach to jump in the (large) waves, and at night we ate at one of the neighborhood restaurants (Cantarana is our fav) before crashing in the very comfortable beds back at the house.

If you are after an amazing empty beach, comfy beds to sleep on, rooms with a bit of separation, and a safe neighbourhood, this is it.

The three separate bedroom units function like mini apartments, so this was the ideal setup for my group which was comprised of 3 couples. That said, I would not recommend this for a family, especially one with small children.
Playa Grande and the Palm Beach Estates neighborhood is beautiful, so friendly, and with so many activities and options for activities and excursions. We stayed close to home this time but still took surf lessons and yoga classes and rented bikes all right in the neighborhood. The black sand beach is a quick bike ride or adventurous beach walk away, and Rip Jack Inn is about a mile away - very walkable.

Kristi greeted us at the house and walked through everything we needed to know for our week long stay. The house was perfect for our family of four. (Two teens, ages 16 and 18). The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The pool is fabulous and it is a one minute walk to the beach. We rented surf boards from Frijoles Locos and they delivered the boards to the house for us. Kristi set us up with Nervin for the waterfall hike. Enoc was our guide and he was fabulous! Highly recommend this hike to the waterfalls.
The house the located near many restaurants. We rented a car through Alamo (had no issues) so we could also drive to other restaurants and beaches.
Would highly recommend staying at this house!

Casa Verde is literally paradise on earth. The house is perfectly located in a tropical jungle oasis yet you are seconds from the beach and can hear the waves crashing as you relax on the porch or dip in your private pool. The privacy is unbeatable.
You can surf, swim or boogie board just steps from your front door, great lefts and rights! There are plenty of places nearby to rent boards and even take a surfing lesson. If you just want to swim the ocean is perfect at lower tides with calm seas for any level. And the water is so warm!
The house has everything you need to cook at home and there are plenty of small and larger grocery stores nearby. Within walking distance are a variety of great restaurants with numerous vegan and vegetarian options. Everyone we met was super helpful and friendly and made us feel right at home.
Kristi was great, super responsive, and gave us the names of some wonderful tour guides for the trips we were interested in. I would highly suggest horse back riding and snorkeling with George and the Leona Waterfall with Nervin. Both excursions were fantastic and gave us a lot of information about the country, culture and the unique Costa Rican environment.
We will definitely be back!!!

Beautiful home and yard, the pool and location to beach access made this a wonderful stay. Love the entire Palm Beach Estates community. Would definitely recommend.

The house was fantastic- it was so close to the beach and we loved going between the beach and the pool all day long! The beds were super comfortable and was always comfortable with the temperature. We were two families with two teen boys so it was perfect for the 6 of us. The "town" was pretty small- but really LOVED surf camp - taking surfing lessons and eating at Cafe Mar Azul. We did not rent a car and not sure that was a wise idea- felt a little isolated. That said Kristi set us up with Alvarro who was AMAZING! He was attentive to our transport needs and even took us on a wonderful all day adventure excursion- ziplining, horseback riding, tubing, waterfall- the highlight for all. On the way to the airport he even took us to Filadelphia to see the most amazing iguanas. But I would say the best thing was the beautiful beach- great waves for surfing and body surfing and lots of peaceful walks on the beach (and the sunsets were incredible). Did make it to Tamarindo one day- finding the boats was a bit of a challenge but was rewarded with an amazing meal at Pangas Beach club- hihgly recommend. Thanks Kristi and Corey for a great Costa Rica vacation

We were very happy with our stay at this VRBO. It looked just like the pictures and was clean and well maintained. The pool was clean and located perfectly in the middle of the home outside area. There were plenty of places to sit around the pool and lovely hammocks to lay in. The 3 separate rooms were great for our family as we had 3 adult couples, so the privacy was a nice addition. The location to the beach was incredible and the beach felt like a private beach. The beach was beautiful and was the perfect place to watch the sunset just steps outside our front door. The property manager Kristi was so helpful and always available before and during our stay. She always answered timely and was happy to provide us useful information and answer questions. We also liked the security system the home had since the home is located on beach access so that added security to our stay. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the area and stay in a quite area outside of Tamarindo. We also loved the community at the estates as it had many nice restaurants to choose from. If you do choose to stay here just remember to bring in all your belongings at all times you’re not there so nothing gets stolen. The place has cameras as well should anything occur.

Absolutely loved this house. The beach is steps away. Really have a secluded portion of the beach at all times to your self. Kristi and Doug helped us with anything we needed. They were great. Feels like your own resort to yourself. Also thought the separate living quarters was great for privacy yet a communal hangout. Definitely will come back!

We have been to the Playa Grande area a few times and love the area of Casa Verde, and the property itself. The house is secluded and private with excellent beach access. Kristi was amazing and very helpful. Highly recommended.

The location and proximity to beach can’t be beat. The property manager did an excellent and very prompt job of helping us out with check in and fixing deficiencies.
The kitchen is sadly in need of upgrading with substandard cooking utensils, pots and pans stove. No dishwasher. Cupboard spaces woefully inadequate with everything awkwardly stored under the counter. Only family eating table was outside which is fine but no lighting for evening meal. Relaxing/ lounging space in main area not comfortable and outside chairs: seating on worn out uncomfortable cushions.

This place was great! We had amazing help from Kristi, with house hold needs, activity’s and places to eat! There are restaurants in walking distance and several with in a few min. drive. The house was great, very close to the beach, located on the beach access… which meant people walking by, but there is so much vegetation you are still very private.
The house is set up for 3 different spaces, each with there own locking door that opens to the pool.
One room is just the bed and small bath, the 2nd room has a kitchenette and bathroom, the 3rd is connected to the main common area with a large bathroom and a door to separate it from the main kitchen and seating area.
We were visited by monkeys, geckos, frogs and other wildlife.

Wish we could have stayed at this home longer. It's as close to the beach as you can get! My boys loved heading out to surf several times a day! The home itself is spacious and was stocked with everything you could need. The pool was also very refreshing. Had an issue with the lock on one of the doors and the manager was over immediately to address the issue. Highly recommend!

Nice interior, great location, nice flora around outside of pool.
A bit challenging to coordinate to get in, and cooking ware was outdated and not usable, but those were not a biggies for us.

This property is so beautiful! Very spacious as well. The hosts were amazing. Very responsive to our multiple questions and requests. The beach is super close and feels like your own private beach. Perfect if you’re not looking to be in the center of town. The house cat is the sweetest and cutest thing ever & she loves to protect the house.
3.0 / 5.0
Pros: easy walking distance to a beautiful beach, strong airconditioning in each room, our young kids loved the pool, attentive property manager.
Cons: needs some TLC. Kitchen and bathrooms were run down. No real living room or dining room area for our two families to hang out, the daybeds in the kitchen room are just not comfortable for lounging. Separate entrances and locks on three doors was inconvenient. Pool toys and floats old and in disrepair. None of this could have been helped by the friendly, communicative management.
Overall the rental has some upsides if you have appropriate expectations. I think the pictures and other reviews I relied on when booking portrayed this as more of an upscale accommodation than it is. Would love to see this property get some updates bc it could be really lovely.

Came here with a friend and our teenage sons. House had a great layout and plenty of privacy for us all. Super close to the beach and restaurants. Morning surf checks with coffee were exactly what we needed. Proved to be a good home base for reaching many of the local surf spots. Hope to visit again.

Close to the beach
What I wish I had understood better when choosing a VRBO for my family.
Where is the surf?
This is a great spot because it’s so close to the beach. You can catch waves with just a short walk from the house. However, the main break is about a 5 minute drive (by Taco Star).
We have also stayed near Cafe Mar Azul-which is great for kids to get in and catch stuff on the inside, maybe a little better than where we were. But this was a great spot for impromptu surf sessions!
I didn’t love having all my kids in 2 other separate compartments of the house. With three separate doors to lock anytime we went somewhere. (Kind of a pain) You’re right next to the beach trail and you have to stress about theft a little.
I also wished it had one big living area for us to hang in when it was rainy.
However, the host was great! The location is one of the closest to the beach. We booked it last minute so there weren’t a ton of options and this was sufficient for our needs. Kitchen was pretty bare.

Can’t beat location
At the end of a dead end road in the tropical jungle you’ll find a gorgeous little house with lots of charm and privacy. We loved being able to walk to the beach in a minute and be back swimming in the pool the next. The kids surfed everyday all day and we loved the easy boat ride into tamarino.
Housekeeping were amazing and made our holiday easy! Thank you!

Escape from the new norm
This vacation was exactly what we needed. Kristi, the property manager, set us up with everything we wanted prior to us getting there. She was very responsive to our emails which had a lot of questions and requests. She hooked us up with Alvaro, the best tour guide ever and with "life is better at sea.com" who gave us private sunset snorkeling trip. The trip started with Alvaro picking us up at the airport with cold cloths and cervasas and it just kept getting better from there. The house was just as described (except the hammocks are different) and closer to the beach than the video showed. The twin beds act as couches in each of the rooms and each room has a king bed. The beach is a surfing beach so if you're looking to float about, stick to the pool. Speaking of pool, the pool was cleaned daily and was perfect for floating and relaxing. Kristi also hooked us up with boogie boards, beach chairs, and the much needed beach tent. You are definitely in nature with cicadas constantly in the background. We were even able to see howler monkeys in the trees on the property and they will also be your early morning alarm. This house is close to 4 really good restaurants, a coffee shop, and a small $$ market. The walk to the water taxis is fairly long and hot taking the beach (2$ ride) so I would spend an extra 3$ and use the access by the Grateful hotel.
We also want to recommend Jonathan who can be picked up down the beach (Kristi is also getting his contact information) as an estuary guide as he is amazing at spotting wildlife.
I would highly recommend this property if you are planning on staying in Playa Grande. Thanks to Kristi for helping us get what we wanted out of Costa Rica: Sloths, Monkeys, Waterfall, Crocodiles, various other wildlife, a beautiful private beach, a relaxing private pool, and a very memorable vacation with friends.

Amazing - will return
Everything about this property is top notch. The check in process was very thorough, including the great recommendations. Communication was on-point! I've already talked with everyone who went on this trip with us, and we will be returning. I cannot speak highly enough of this property!

Private yet close to everything!
The location is great! Kristi was so helpful with recommendations for rentals, restaurants, surfing and other activities! Our teens loved having their own studio apartments. They are connected to the main house but you enter from outside so it is a better fit if your kids are older, our are 14 & 15. The pool was wonderful and the beach is easy access and you haver hear the waves.

Excellent Location
The location of this house and the set up (3 separate units) worked perfectly for us travelling as extended family. The pool is all one depth (approx 4ft) which worked well for our kids, and it’s a great size. The best part was the location and proximity to the beach. We were easily able to run home for something we forgot (or a beer!). We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Beach House
My friends and I stayed here for a 4 days. The location was perfect! The house is just steps from a beautiful, clean beach. The house was equipped with everything we needed for cooking. We had plenty of towels and the pool was great! There were a few good restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance. The house manager was very nice and responsive!

Ideal location beach and pool
Excellent location for adults and kids. Kids loved using the pool during high tide at the beach, exploring the beach at low tide and playing in the pool after sunset. Great setup for families.

Awesome property
We fell in love with this place immediately. The pool was so nice, and the beach was only steps away. The kids (2,5,6 & 8) had a blast swimming in the pool and making sandcastles on the beach. The adults surfed everyday. We walked to the Grateful Hotel-very cool spot. Kristi was so welcoming and easy to reach with any questions we had. Would definitely return!
