About this cabin rental

Peaceful setting in the woods with all the comforts of home. Wake up surrounded by the serenity of nature, where you'll encounter a variety of wildlife...deer, elk, birds, rabbits, in your own front yard. Enjoy a leisurely hike, right out your front door, or just a few miles away you'll find trails to challenge the most avid hikers. Trout/Salmon fishing, rafting, soaking in the hot springs, skiing, biking all within a lovely 1-25 mile drive. Fine dining and entertainment all near by. Don't forget to ride the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Train! For winter sports fun, it's just a short drive to Durango Mountain Resort or Wolf Creek. But if your idea of fun is just hanging out at the cabin and taking a nice winter walk, you can hike or snow shoe in the freshly fallen white stuff, then run inside to warm by the fire and sip hot chocolate! Ice skate at Chapman Ice Rink or experience a sleigh ride in Durango. Phenomenal sledding hills are located in our mountain community, at the nearby lake and park. Experience the peace and serenity of our little piece of heaven. You'll no doubt be planning your next visit, before you even begin to head back home! Unfortunately, I am allergic to dogs and cats so we do not allow them.

While it is a bit of a drive into Durango, it is still a beautiful one. We enjoyed the cabin which was well stocked with all of the things needed in the kitchen as well as towels and such in the bathrooms. The beds were comfortable as well. Even the neighbors we came into contact with were hospitable.

This cabin is a 10 out of 10. Great location inbetween pagosa spings and durango. Beautifully placed. Tucked into the wilderness where you are sure to see some wildlife every day. The property itself is gorgeous! It is like something you would see in a magazine. The beds are memory foam and super comfortable. It is fully loaded with everything you could possible need. Highly recommended!

Way to many check list. Long in list. Check out every time you left for the day. To big to check out. Strip beds, sort towels by color. And to haul off the garbage was too much. Spray all rooms with with Lysol.use doing all that l wonder way i paying for cleaning. Way to much.

We knew we'd like/love this cabin before we even pulled into the Driveway! How can anyone not love being greeted by a Mother and her 3 "babies" (all Deer)! Everything from the beginning of our stay, until leaving (which was really hard to do) was about as perfect as could be. The cabin was simply beautiful, and excellently maintained. The bed in the Master upstairs was so comfortable, and the pillows were so perfect, I actually had to find out the brand of pillows, and went and purchased some as soon as we got home! The only flaw, was the day I had planned ahead of time, before we got there, to go fishing...apparently, someone from above, thought I needed more "chill" time, and decided it was time for a little rain! Oh well, I got a few hours in the next day! The Durango/Silverton Train Ride is a MUST for anyone visiting the area...you can watch videos all you want, and be amazed, but there's nothing like the real thing! Jan and Stan, thank you SO, SO, much for allowing us to stay in your "little" piece of Heaven, which in our lives, was a "BIG" piece of Heaven...we really appreciated it. I was going to leave Stan a little gift of a Vegas Golden Knights, 2023 Stanley Cup Champions "coozie", but thought he'd probably do something else with it, other than using it to kep his drink cool! We loved our stay. It was so peaceful and the deer and turkeys just walked about. The beds were very comfortable and it was so quite that we slept well. The cabin had everything we needed and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great place!

We had a great stay at this property! It was very homey and charming and beautifully decorated. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. We had a momma mule deer and her two babies visit us one morning. You can’t go wrong with this listing.

We've stayed at this property many times and it feels like home. The cabin is comfortable and welcoming, decorated in a mountain theme and equipped with everything we needed. Fall colors in the area were not quite at peak but so beautiful anyway. The deer family payed us daily visits as did the wild turkeys. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Very nice and well maintained property. Probably the best maintained kitchen we have ever seen. Clean and well appointed. The property is in a beautiful setting and although neighbors are near by the house is set so that it is very private. Plenty of towels and pillows. Big bonus was the deer that frequented the property most mornings and evenings. Communication with the owners was good. The only con was having to take the garbage to the dump down the road.

Very nice cabin. Jan is an exceptional Host . Quickly responded to requests, just nice people. Plenty of deer and Hummingbirds coming to the feeder daily. Nice quiet area.

This place is truly a piece of heaven, very peaceful and beautiful. Loved setting on the porch and watching the wildlife stroll through. The cabin was very clean and cozy. Jan was very helpful and quick to respond if you needed or had any questions. Will definitely recommend to stay here and will will definitely be coming back.

Nice little cabin, tucked up in the woods, outside of town. Cabin was very clean, and user friendly. Its a great place for a small gathering, and close enough to Durango that you could take in activities, such as shoping or the Jeep/train tour(highly recommend), or some really wonderful food(El Moro, Gazpacho). But was far enough away from town that you had privacy, and the quietness of the woods, even with neighbors near by.

We just got home from our wonderful cabin! It was everything as described on the website and then some. Such kind and gracious host Jan and Stan are! Oh and did I mention the bed?!?? Always a chance on a comfortable bed when we rent cabins and this bed was awesome! Loved seeing the deer up in the yard and thru out our stay. If we have the opportunity to return, we will be staying here.

We happened to be here during a HEAVY snowstorm. The property owners were so helpful and so were the neighbors. Great communication. Cabin was so cozy and warm with all the snow outside. Would highly recommend this cabin.

We've stayed at this cabin over six times. Always clean and very well equipped and conveniently located to grocery stores for those sometimes forgotten items. Beautiful drives to Pagosa Spring and Silverton are a must.

We enjoyed our stay. The house had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the nature outside the doors with the friendly Mule deer roaming the property House was just what we needed for family but yet gave us our own privacy.

Cute house, just very far up the mountain. Very comfortable. Well stocked with coffee and filters, spices for cooking and plenty of wildlife. Deer and the prettiest wild turkey we have seen. I had a little problem sitting at the high table, but younger guests probably don't. Bayfield is a nice little town. We enjoyed Hong's Chinese and Pine Cone cafe.

We had 2 couples, all over 65 years, in our group. The cabin was perfect for us. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. It had way more appliances, pots/pans, dishes, etc than I have in my own kitchen. The beds and linens were high quality and very comfortable. While we didn’t really need anything from the host, Jan was very responsive to my questions before our arrival and checked on us while we were there.. I would definitely rent this cabin again if visiting the Durango area. It was any easy drive to Durango, Silverton, Ouray, Telluride and Mesa Verde National Park.

The cabin is in a good location near Durango. Bayfield & Vallecito Lake were not on our agenda but we thoroughly enjoyed the area! Master bed is super comfy & had a beautiful view of Blue Spruces from the window. It was like waking up to Christmas trees each morning!

It was great 👍!! Everything multiple groups of deer in the front yard and backyard, mainly front. Visited Durango Pagosa Springs and Silverton all relatively close. Great getaway from the Texas heat. Cabin was grade A,Everything we needed and then some.

We could not have found a more perfect cabin home or location for our needs! The arrangement of the home offered every comfort and convenience, the kitchen was better equipped than my own, and the front and back porches provided such a lovely place to relax, enjoy the scenery, and be entertained by deer and small wildlife - we spent about as much time there as inside! Our first impression walking inside was how appropriate the interior decor was for a mountain cabin. The hosts call it their “little piece of heaven,” and while we stayed there, it was ours, too!

Beautiful cabin surrounded by pine trees and gorgeous hanging basket flowers. We saw early morning deer, two baby fawns, and a lot of turkeys walking in the front yard. This is our second time staying in this cabin and the cabin is very clean. comfortable, and fully equipment. Thank you again Jan and Stan.

Our stay in Bayfield was so relaxing. Jan & Stan were the most gracious host. Their cabin felt like home and was fully equipped with everything you would need from cooking, grlling, household and personal care. I've never stayed anywhere the beds were as comfortable as my own bed at home. They were just a text message away if anything was needed. We will definitely be returning guests!
