About this house rental

Sparkling clean and sanitized. Large restored log home located just south of Lexington in historic Richmond, KY. Beautiful private property including picturesque ponds with docks and paddle boats where guest can fish, swim or float. There are horses, opens fields, wooded areas, abundant wildlife, picnic tables, fire pit, fishing ponds and out door grill. The 4200 sq ft home is furnished with treasures from around the world, art, pottery, crystal and some primitive antiques. A rustic style parlor offers a large stone fireplace and a perfectly restored and playable pump organ from the 1800s. The welcoming wrap-around porch was featured in the book Perfect Porches and features porch swings and big hammocks.

You’ll have your own two acres, but still have the convenience of level paved roads in a quiet neighborhood just two miles from the nearest gas and groceries.

The fabulous Red River Gorge is 45 minutes east into the rugged mountains of Kentucky. And 45 minutes North is Keenland, The Horse Park, Lexington and the Blue Grass airport. And The Ark Encounter and Creation Museum is less than 2 hr away in Northern KY.

This rambling handcrafted work of art invites visitors to recall days past when time spent on a porch swing was enlightening, and a stroll around a pond is healing. There’s an enclosed hot tub off the upstairs bedroom that extends into pine trees with an outside entrance onto the back deck. It overlooks the pond and is totally private. The big windows provide beautiful views year-round, perfect sunsets and stars twinkling through the pine boughs at night.

A king sized bed and private bath are on the first level in a very large master bedroom. Off the master bedroom is a separate bedroom with a standard and two twin beds. Up the stairs from there is a queen bed in a room that opens into the hot tub room, a large bathroom with garden tub and washer and dryer. This area also has a stone fireplace with gas logs. Down the hall on the second floor are two more bedrooms. One is large with a queen size bed and record played. The fifth bedroom has a queen size bed with a full view of the pond and private entrance onto the upper deck. There is a bathroom in this area, too.

Also, on this second floor is a balcony room that overlooks the large floor-to-ceiling hand laid stone fireplace. This area has a large comfortable couch and is the perfect spot to escape to read a book.

A unique spiraling staircase leads to the open kitchen on the first floor. The dining room off the kitchen is a one room log cabin with a handmade oak table and woven hickory bottom chairs that seat 12 comfortably.

We thoroughly enjoyed all the amenities of this site. It was well appointed and provided a very comfortable retreat. The history of the building and creativity in incorporating three original log cabins into the design was intriguing and lent a sense of charm and tranquility that was truly unique.

Although it wasn't secluded the way i imagined it would be, it is an amazing property. Perfect spot for our family to meet up at and relax.

Extended family annual vacation. The bedrooms and bathrooms were comfortable and clean. The common rooms were big enough for family dinners and nightly games. Location was great for quick trips to grocery store or shopping mall. The ponds were well stocked too. We truly enjoyed our trip.

Martin Manor was a great place for our group of 5 couples and 1 single to stay for our 50th college reunion. There was space galore and a beautiful view of the lake/pond. Even though there was a hot tub and also activities at the lake, we really did not have time to use them. My husband and I did enjoy the paddle boats on the last day. There are two sets of stairs leading upstairs which really helped with our group. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates and dinnerware, although I forgot to look in the island storage the first day! The dining room table could accommodate 8-12 people. The king suite on the first floor was very roomy. A smaller bedroom with a double and 2 twins opened into that room. There were three bedrooms with queens upstairs. The 6th bedroom was actually a living room but could become a bedroom with the use of an air mattress or fold out couch. It was a beautiful place for our reunion. The owner was next door and very helpful when we had questions.

We had a wonderful time. The house and grounds were beautiful and great for the family outing. The pond, fire pit, home game room, two dachshunds and the horses were great, while I did not catch the bass 😀 my son in law and grandson did 😀. I will catch him next time. It was a great multigenerational home. The host family was very attentive and helpful and friendly. I’d recommend this home to anyone seeking a nice country experience.

We stayed for 4 nights and really enjoyed what the place offered. It was in the 90s each day, but the wrap around porch offered quality shade no matter the time of day. The house had everything we needed. Despite the area offering so many things, we just stayed on site and had a blast catching up and playing games. The pond produced several nice sized bass. We'll be back!

We had 10 of us that stayed here in the cabin for my son's wedding in richmond. What an awesome and beautiful place!! John and Jennifer were extremely responsive to any of our questions and quick to get back with us. They stopped by to see us while we were there and they were so kind. The place was extremely clean and well taken care of. So many awesome amenities. We will absolutely come back to this cabin if we are ever in the area again. Absolutely loved the swings and wrap around porch and the beautiful view of the lake. Very calming during hectic preparations for a wedding. Highly recommend!
