The layout of the house worked great for our family. Hot tub and proximity to the river are a plus. However, we found the furnishings, fixtures, bedding, and kitchen equipment to be in generally "rough" condition. Not what I was hoping for based on how charming things looked in the pictures.

Great views and privacy, lots of space

Generally this place was decent. The location is OK; it's fairly tucked away, but literally right off of 26, which means you can hear traffic from your deck. I didn't love that. You can also hear the river, though, which is just a five minute walk away. That was a nice bonus. There are also a couple of decent restaurants nearby, and a grocery store as well.
The house is on a gravel road which gets a surprising amount of traffic, so you'll get dust flying up while you're out enjoying the front deck at times. The hot tub is great, and soaking in the tub surrounded by trees is a nice treat. That really made up for a lot of what we didn't like.
The house itself is a little rough. The furniture is hilariously uncomfortable. The showers are tiny and really uncomfortable to use. The stairs are terrible - they're very steep with small steps and VERY plush carpet. Walk very carefully to make sure you don't fall down the stairs (like I did).
Overall our stay was OK, but I would probably try to find something a little more comfortable if I had a do-over.

Gorgeous location is mostly private, possibly visible by only one neighbor. The hot tub works great, but a shelter/gazebo around the hot tub would have been nice. The utilization of space was good in the house. One of the bedrooms upstairs is a loft that overlooks the living room below. People in that loft bedroom will hear activity below until everyone else has gone to bed, too. Very spacious parking can easily accommodate larger vehicles. Overall, we would definitely recommend this property. Very clean, very nice to spend a relaxing weekend in.

Lovely setting - secluded - yet close to make a store run if needed
Avoided hearing fireworks for the most part which was our goal for this visit.

Great privacy at the house! Loved the little trail back to the Sandy River with a little shore for the boys to play with sand. Great hot tub that had a perfect forest view.

Our family really enjoyed this cozy, welcoming home. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful, as it's nestled in a quiet area surrounded by gorgeous trees. It has everything that we could ask for, for a wonderful weekend away!

Spacious home, well equipped kitchen. Close to many family friendly activities. The hot tub and fire pit are the perfect way to end the day. Will definitely come back

Loved our stay here. The view from upstairs was beautiful, there is a river that’s a short walk from the house that was awesome. We could hear the rushing water from the house. Kitchen area was roomy, we had a great stay. Thank you for sharing your home.

We stayed at Stones Throw for 3 nights. Our group consisted of 5 adults and one teen, and there was plenty of space for all of us. We all felt at home and were all very comfortable. The house is located on a quiet road just off of Hwy 26. There were plenty of beautiful hiking places nearby as well as stores for any last minute supplies we missed. The kitchen had everything we needed to make family meals, and towels and soap were provided in each bathroom. We really loved reading through all the entries in the guestbook, and everyone was very happy. There were tons of games and DVDs to watch. However, I will say we will miss the hot tub the most.
We will most definitely be back! Thanks for having us!

Quiet neighborhood. Nice setting. Short walk to river. Did not like a few things such as urine smell on the carpet, master bedroom toilet flapper leaking, master bed room door not lock not catching to lock, and broken deck chairs. Overall a good vacation.

We enjoyed everything about Stone’s throw! The short hike to the water, basketball, corn hole and the evenings were spectacular out on the back deck! The hammock was a big hit too:)

Stones Throw is a very comfortable well located property. Very quite and peaceful, close proximity to skiing. We especially enjoyed the hot tub after a day of skiing.
Kitchen had almost everything you would need. Seasonings for cooking were a bit sparse. No salt and barely any pepper. Time to restock!
Bed in the downstairs bedroom was too hard for me! Family upstairs said theirs was fine.
While we were planning on bringing our dogs along, plans changed and we did not bring them. Asked for a refund on the pet fee, so far no response.
Overall, we had a lovely time! Would stay here again.

A very nice property in a good location, nestled in the woods with close proximity to Mt Hood. Only disappointment was
that the hot tub needed chlorine and shock oxidizer which
were not available and were not delivered after calling VRBO.

We have stayed at this location before, because it is beautiful property, surrounded by tall, magnificent tree, and a short walk down to the Sandy River. The home is a bit dated, but spacious, and fulfilled all our needs, except for a big problem watching streaming services on TV!!! Froze up every night, which was a huge drag when wanting to unwind together after a long day of skiing and hiking

Space was ideal for our college kids to join us for Thanksgiving so that they didn't need to drive all the way home.
Kitchen was better equipped than we anticipated with plenty of pots, pans, cooking and baking utensils. The Thrifymart that's only about a 10 minute walk was super helpful and stocked with anything you might forget.
While a little quirky needing to go through the upstairs bedroom to get to a sitting room, you figure it out. Main level master bedroom is big enough and would have been nice to have a king bed, but overall the beds were comfortable.
We appreciated the quiet and isolated feeling, very little to no road noise, and the only sounds from homes nearby were the occasional barking dog.
No complaints, only appreciation for an ideal location to rest and restore.

Pros- This home has great space for a family, especially with the extra family room upstairs. Well stocked. Beautiful decks on both the east and west sides, so could find sun or shade when wanted. The walk down to the river was longer than expected, but still just a few minutes away. It was a lovely place to spend a quiet afternoon.
Cons- When we arrived, someone was there to check on an upstairs bathtub leak. We got the okay to shower up there, but not to take a bath in the jetted tub, or it would leak into the kitchen. The e-lock on the front door wouldn't work. The guy tried resetting the code a couple of times throughout our first day, and into the second, but no luck in getting it to work. We could lock the door from the inside, but couldn't lock it if we all left the house. We were finally offered an actual key, but didn't have plans to be away from the house on the last day, so passed. The hot tub was nice, but the water was pretty murky, and a ring of dirt stuck to the sides.

My wife & I spent 13 days at Stone's Throw. We've stayed at other cabins in the area & none of them had all the amenities this one had. It was wheelchair accessible with an elevator that went to the second floor. All the seating was comfortable. Even the outdoor seating. Central air was nice for a few of the hotter days. Very private setting. We will definitely be staying there again next year if possible.

Dirty house and a confusing layout with a wonderful back deck
Mice and mice dropping all over the house. Called first thing in the morning to have someone come take care of the mice and after someone showed up to set traps. That we had to clean and rest during our visit. Had to clean the rocks and debris and put in a shock before we could use the hot tub. The floor are stained and dirty and it rained during our visit and the window in the dining room leaked so bad that it soaked the items on the table.
The hall bathroom door was difficult to close with the washing machine sticking out. Went to use the downstairs shower, had to clean away the nats that were flying around first.
I can say the best part of this house was sitting on the back porch. It was so quiet and wonderful listening to the wildlife

Our group usually camps 3 or 4 times during the summer. We decided to try out a cabin this year. And we will be making this an annual summer thing. The cabin was great. Very roomy. Short walk to the river was nice. Beds were all comfortable. And the hot tub was very relaxing with the little stream running by it. The manager came out and helped fix the ac right away since it wouldn't go lower then 72 and the temps were in the high 90's while we were there. Housekeeping dropped off dishwasher pods when I asked. Wish there were some Tupperware bowls to store leftovers a little better for the week. All around it was a great week away!

Beautiful home on unbelievably gorgeous property. So quiet and peaceful. The hot tub was wonderful and such a peaceful setting for it. The river was full and roaring and so pretty. It rained the whole time, unfortunately, but plenty in the house to do indoors, including board games and DVD/Blu-ray.
Beds were all comfy, and appreciated the extra foam bed cover that made our mom even more comfortable. The lower bed and bath and accessibility accommodations made for a much easier stay. Thank you!
I usually try to book something different every year, but the whole family loved this home so much, it may just become an annual thing!

Lady's Special Time
We were 3 ladies celebrating a very special birthday. First thing we did after arriving Friday afternoon at the house and before unpacking was to explore the beautiful surrounding with the little waterfall by the back deck. We went on the trail to the river right away and enjoyed the water's sound. Back to the house we explored every room. Everything was just as described, spacious, quiet and tasteful furnished. The kitchen had everything you would need. Unfortunately we were not able to use the first floor shower since they had put in a new floor. A sign said to not use it until Sunday, so that was not something we had expected. There was the upstairs bathroom with a shower but unfortunately that shower did not work either. So we called maintenance and they were quick to solve the problem. By the time we came come from a few hours trip everything was fixed. So thank you to the maintenance person! The weather was nice so we didn't have to use the fireplace in the living room. We saw plenty of firewood stacked outside just in case and we added more that we had brought with us. We like to sleep in a cool bedroom so for the night we opened all the upstairs windows to cool the rooms.
All in all we had a great time, enjoyed each others company and our plan is to come back at another time. We definitively recommend this place!

Interesting but beautiful
The house and location are beautiful and secluded. I especially loved the little stream near the hot tub and fire. The house was unique and definitely like any other, I do wish that there was more explanation to how things worked like the upstairs tub and shower. The manual was pretty vague for explanations, I will say. Getting in contact with the host was incredibly difficult especially when we had power go out and when we lost the code to the house. Overall, the stay was pleasant I would just ask the host to be more attentive to the guests and have more detailed explanations for how things in the house worked.

Close to Mt Hood and Thriftway groceries. Sleeps 8 comfortably, but we had trouble keeping the temperature above 61 degrees. Fireplace helped but we had to buy firewood. Hot tub is very convenient and helped warm us up.

The getaway we needed
Very much enjoyed our post-Thanksgiving stay! We were very comfortable and stayed cozy with a fire in the woodstove. (Just remember to bring wood, or pick up some nearby.) Kitchen was well-stocked for cooking up whatever you have in mind. Although there are some good options nearby if you want to take a night off from cooking and get takeout or eat out somewhere. Loved how the cabin is surrounded with trees so you really feel like you're away from everything, just a short hike to get down to the river. Found a nearby hike to do one day while we had a break from the rain, and then enjoyed the rest our time at the cabin watching movies, doing crafts and soaking in the hot tub. Would visit again!

Amazing Setting - Great for Families
The property was the perfect for our family getaway.
Plenty of space inside the house for everyone to have their own spaces. Good wifi connection. The kitchen was well stocked and the stove/oven worked great. The decks and outdoor spaces were the true gem of this property. The setting was close to perfect - even more beautiful than the website photos! Tranquil and peaceful. We could hear the Sandy river from the back deck.
The hot tub was clean and worked well with plenty of provided towels. The laundry facilities were top notch and super useful for a large group.
Everyones was very happy with our stay and we hope to visit again next year.

House was clean upon arriving. Location and views are beautiful! The little creek running behind hot tub was so nice! The river was nice, but stinky like sewage. The hot tub was stinky and was provided 2 small cups of shock. The beds were soooo cozy! The kitchen was well stocked even with some tea and condiments. The spice rack was stocked and very useful. The leather couch in living room was broke and the reclining part wouldn’t go back into itself like it should and made it hard to get up. The stairs are very steep, kids had a blast going down them on their bottoms 😁 there unfortunately was no firewood stocked or even available unless you wanted to buy some. Unfortunately we couldn’t use from outside it was wet. Upstairs bathroom is cute but tub is old and jets are super loud. Outside the decks are huge! Very nice piece of property and private away from neighbors. Shower down stairs is awkward due to home being A frame. Upon checkout house keeping was waiting in car that was kinda rude. All in all it was a good time and nice stay.
