House was pretty but some bad issues
House was pretty but some bad issues
1) there is a metal bed frame in basement that has a piece sticking out. Both my daughters gashes their leg on it 2) kitchen is not fully equipped. There were many kitchen items that were needed but not provided. And many pans were gross 3) grass was tall and not mowed. When I called the rental office asking for them to mow so we could play outdoor games. Nothing was done to fix the issue 4) the house is on the lake and the trees are overgrown you can't see the view

Beds were not comfortable at all!
Beds were not comfortable at all!
The beds were very uncomfortable in every room including the master. Seems like a wise investment to upgrade mattresses. Also the pictures made it seem as if the main area was much larger that it was. The place really needs some tlc and handy work. A bit run down. Overall nice location on the water, dock was a bit loose and one chair was broken. The side of the hot tub has a broken panel. Seems like you could make it a bit more functional.

Taylor-Made Almost Paradise
Taylor-Made Almost Paradise
My family and I had a wonderful time during our stay. On average, we had everything that we needed. I must say, however, that this particular location left much to be desired. I have rented from or have been with others that have rented from Taylor-Made rentals in the past. We have always had above-average experiences with the locations we've stayed at. Almost Paradise was somewhat disappointing for a rental at it's price point. Some items to note: - Dog waste in the yard upon arrival. - Wobbly steps into hot tub - A broken hot tub cover. Not only has the arm that holds it on rotted away and left the sides of the unit broken and exposed, but the cover itself is in horrendous shape. It takes at least two people to remove or put on, and pieces of the broken foam from the cover are left folded upon one another or floating in the water. Also, contract said that hot tub was to be serviced day of arrival. However, service date shown was previous to arrival date, allowing water to become noticeably in need of service before our departure. - Ash and debris from charcoal grill covering patio around grill. Grill supplies minimal and found loosely blowing around yard upon arrival. - Pool table pieces broken and in disrepair. - Living room coffee table leg broken. - Dining chairs broken and in disrepair. - Broken, rusting lawnmower left sitting under deck. - 2 out of 3 available adirondack chairs broken and unusable. - General lack of attention to detail with regard to cleanliness and tidyness. As stated, while none of these things kept myself or my family from enjoying our time at Deep Creek, we have come to expect slightly more when renting from a Taylor-Made property.

Fantastic family and pooch friendly house
Fantastic family and pooch friendly house
We were there for the Skiing. Very convenient to slopes. Plenty of room to relax. Pleasantly surprised at cleanliness with dog friendly accommodations. Some recommendations: Newer, non-stick and more frying pans; upgrade the quantity and quality of trach bags, dishwasher pods, toilet paper, etc..; and a better set of glassware...

Nice house, but location and view weren't exactly what we anticipated
Nice house, but location and view weren't exactly what we anticipated
The house itself was clean and nice and we did have a nice time at the house. Location could have been described a little better (it's right next to a hotel and across the street from a gas station). Mattresses were a bit uncomfortable on the beds. The view of the lake, etc. is somewhat obstructed except from one corner of the deck.

Almost Paradise!
Almost Paradise!
We rented this lovely home for the week before Labor Day with teenagers and a dog. Tons of natural light inside, a roomy deck, and a yard with comfortable chairs to watch the sunset made our stay very enjoyable. The mature pines in the back yard were a good source of shade and added some privacy to the house, but I don’t think it took away from the water views. The hotel next door allows pets too, so if you bring your dog, there will be friends for it. A few houses to the left of the house are two marinas for boat rentals. It was easy to walk over and get our boats and tubes. The floating dock was perfect to dock the boat or sit on late at night to look at the stars. It took our dog three days to get comfortable with the dock’s movement to get on the boat. There’s no ladder on the dock, but due to some boat traffic, I’m not sure if it’s safe to play in the water at the end of the dock. My dog liked the shallow entry to the water. The hot tub worked great (and it’s serviced weekly). The kitchen appliances and washer / dryer are newer. The outdoor Weber grill was older. They had tons of kitchen utensils, dishes, bowls, bakeware, glasses, etc. This is not a secluded house - the driveway is right along a secondary road, across the street set back a ways is the back of a gas station and a Burger King. The hotel next door has a fire pit so folks are enjoying it into the late night. With that being said, the house faces the water, there’s no windows facing the street, and we didn’t really feel the busyness behind us. Overall, a wonderful, relaxing, enjoyable stay. Thank you!

Far from Paradise
Far from Paradise
Too many issues to list. I’ll start from the exterior. The parking - good size but drainage is an issue especially located where rain is almost inevitable. Keeping with drainage issue, water rushes down the side of the property leaving debris all over the steps/walkway out back to lake. Perforated pipe with a sleeve and some 3/4 inch crushed stone would solve all this and I wouldn’t be stepping into ankle high puddles when I exit my vehicle. The dock and porch look like they haven’t been cared to in years. No safety issue just very unsightly with how worn they are with the paint chipping. The grass needed to be mowed before we got there and still wasn’t mowed the entire week we were there, easily shin high in areas. The gutters were clogged. Mentioned it to maintenance man who was on sight checking on a potential leak inside. He cleared the bottom gutter, but left the top clogged so it was a rainfall almost everyday right at the beginning of the walkway leading to the front door. My assumption was that he only had an 8ft ladder with him and he would be returning with a larger ladder to clear the top, but never did. Not exactly sure what the high cleaning fee is for.. pieces from board games left underneath the couches from previous occupants. I returned them to their respective boxes in the closet, you’re welcome. I wouldn’t call the place dirty, but it wasn’t spotless other reviewers previously have listed, dust in some corners of walls and other items on the floor. Not dirt but just pieces of outside, some pine needles and other things for instance. There was also trash, pieces of plastic wrapping behind a bedroom door. Bugs in the bedding of one day of one of the main floor bedrooms, the same bedroom that has the large water stain on the ceiling. These bugs were in the bed the day of our arrival. There was human hair inside the sheets, And what appeared to be animal (dog or cat presumably) hair littered all over the comforter and decorative pillows. One of the pots had what appeared to be old pasta residue with mold growing on it inside. The hot pads were disgusting. Literally a dollar store item to replace. There’s a special note to clean the glass on the stovetop. When we arrived it definitely was not clean. The stain can actually be seen in one of the pictures on your listing right by the fan blade, though it appears to be a shadow in the photograph. The mattresses have to be +10 years Old. Can’t fit the rest in here due to site restrictions

'Almost Paradise' might actually be Paradise

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an excellent stay at Almost Paradise. The property is clearly loved and well used, and that does not deter from the charm at all. Everything is in excellent condition. Other reviews had mentioned items like a slightly older dock and we were a bit worried about this when we booked, but we found the condition to be just fine. A handyman was sent out for one extremely minor item. He was very polite, prompt, and helpful and we encountered no other issues during the stay. The location is excellent, close to lots of amenities, but set up in such a way that you feel like you're the only house on the lake. Almost Paradise gave us everything we needed for a short weekend trip. We were able to arrive and feel like we were at a home away from home with no effort or time to adjust, allowing us to make the most of our trip. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
