The overall appearance from the outside of the hotel along with the grounds was beautiful. The bar area was lovely and relaxing with nice decor
We stayed in the Japanese room, its very tired looking, lots of marks on walls easily wiped away, dusty bamboo plastic plants along with the fan on the wall again easily wiped away. Chipping on bed frame and flooring although the bed was very comfortable. The downstairs areas look lovely and clean and maybe money has been spent in these areas first but a little more care is needed with cleaning in rooms especially the dusting as it can trigger asthma and allergies.
4.5
The bed was soo comfortable and that’s what you want when you are going away for the night(s) spacious room and the jacuzzi bath was a bonus!
The grounds around the hotel was beautiful especially on a lovely sunny day there was seating outside the front to have a drink and enjoy the views.
I wouldn’t say I didn like anything but more towels in the bathroom would of been handy
4.5
The room we had was amazing and the building was unbelievable so much so we are returning next weekend
The breakfast was I small let down but everything else was brilliant

I loved everything about especially old school rooms and reception area. The staff were absolutely fabulous and went above and beyond
There was nothing there i didn't like. However the grounds themselves were a little small and can be a tad noisy at the front of the hotel if there's a party going on

The price was incredibly reasonable for the position, rooms and a huge lovely breakfast. Also catering for vegetarians. Eggs free range. This is a huge old house in the most beautiful grounds with nothing but nature around. Accommodating friendly staff too
The decor is pretty terrible in the passages, and the place needs a coat of paint. But I didn’t care because its position is fantastic and everything else was just fine.

On arrival the tv did not work on our room, when the team were unable to fix this they moved us to another room where they had already tested the tv worked. Extra bonus this was a room upgrade with jacuzzi bath!!
Also, breakfast was listed as continental-we were also offered a range of hot breakfasts made to order. Bfast service was excellent as was the food!

Rooms were tired. TV didn’t work

Spacious rooms , very nicely presented.
Disappointed with the Indian restaurant lacked flavour 😕
1.5
Nice countryside location
The hotel is in a poor state of repair and in desperate need of an uplift.
The bathroom in my room had no blinds or curtains leaving me visible to neighbouring hotel room windows, especially when dark and the light being on.
There was a missing button on the toilet flusher.
No towel hooks near the shower so having to leave towels on the floor.
Scuff marks and stains on walls and carpets.
Cobwebs on everything.
4.0
Friendly staff, comfortable room and beautiful food at the Indian restaurant. The breakfast was lovely, offered a hot drink and juices on entering the dining room, help yourself to cooked breakfast, cereals ,fruits and yoghurt. Also if you have any dietary needs they offer dairy, gluten free and meat free options.
The cleaning staff could do a more of a thorough job in the rooms

Stunning room, lovely staff, good breakfast, amazing location, superb Indian restaurant on site

Relaxed atmosphere. Nice old manor house.
Great Indian restaurant attached. Quiet. Cheap when you consider breakfast included.
Noisy door shut. Not near anywhere interesting.

Excellent location, room a good size, no selection of tea, coffee, sugar, milk only two hard packets of hot chocolate. Bathroom toilet seat un secure but usable also shower tray black stains. (This is not a complaint just observations sorry.) Restaurant excellent in all areas.
Whilst not complaining improvements could be made as follows.
1. Entrance of driveway, pitted and breaking up. This is what I would call first impression/shop window.
2.Room 113 in need of a good spring clean.
3. Bathroom need attention.
4. Breakfast excellent, but presentation needs improving. Selection of breads only slices of brown & white just thrown in a plastic bag. On a big plus Soya Milk was available.

my room was noisy and tight and had a disappointing view

The setting, staff and occasion were exceptional.
My room - the hotel apparently has a problem with the water system connected to my room. It kept me awake.

Relaxing
Nothing really, I know it's a listed building which adds to the charm of creeking floor boards but the peeling paint on the ceiling in the bathroom could be dealt with. Room 205.

Lovely location. Pretty surroundings.
Bathroom needed updating and general freshen up - wall paper coming away, mould on the walls and ceiling and cobwebs!
Bedroom was nice but signs of damp again. Mattress very soft so not comfy.
Breakfast was poor quality and staff breakfast staff were slow at replenishing items, had to ask for milk!
Receptionist was lovely, friendly and helpful.
2.5
Mattress was worn could be replaced .
Couldn't open the windows .
Hair dryer cord not long enough awkward to dry your hair.Cracked tiles in the bathroom . No information booklet in the room . Hotel to noisy at night no sleep. Adults & kids shouting & running through the corridor slamming doors etc avoid when there are weddings on. Place needs a revamp.
3.5
The water from shower is either scalding hot or freezing cold.

no soap in the sink, damp above the windows and a cat roaming around the hotel
