Location
Possibly because we booked via booking.com, but we got a terrible room. Comparing the price of a standard room and a privileged room, we paid a few euros less than the privileged room rate advertised at the hotel. A privileged room, offered large rooms/suit with a balcony overlooking the ocean
Our room with a balcony was directly above reception, the hotel entrance, and the car park entrance . Where the staff would go for a smoke. We had a view of a concrete wall some 4 metres away.
Alll other rooms were fully booked, and we couldn’t have an alternative until I started complaining to booking.com and mercure, then a sudden cancellation allowed us to change.
A truly awful experience...

Beautiful view of the sea.

Good breakfast, the coffee machines were not user friendly.
On leaving the under ground car park in the morning, five vehicles were trying to get in, as two cars were trying to leave. This created tension for all concerned. It needed an attendant to monitor cars entering and leaving at a busy time of the day.

I arrived by motorcycle on an extremely wet day, leaving puddles of water in the main reception area. The young lady on Reception was excellent! Smiley, helpful and with a mixture of my poor French and her English directed me to a parking spot in the underground garage for the bike after booking me in. I can't rate her highly enough. Room was very comfortable and spacious. Would definitely stay here again.
It was a shame the restaurant wasn't open in the evening as I really didn't want to leave the room, due to the weather.
However, excellent meal at The Tender Bar, close by.

not too many nice restaurants close by

Staff were accomodating.
They ran out of several beverage types and did not have the initiative knowing they were running out of stock to do something about it. The furniture of the room was IKEA at best and they forgot to include the option of drawers in their IKEA order. It rates itself as a four-star but it is no more than a three-star.

Excellent location, on-site parking reasonably priced (but very small garage and parking spaces)
8.0
Nice sea view room
snack bar food ridiculously high priced with mean quantities.
parking is a nightmare if you drive a Jeep do not attempt to park on your own seek assistance as ramps are curved and slope at a 45 degree angle.
Reception staff appear to be in training and had to seek manager on both occasions of contact with then.

Breakfast was good, location is very good.
Booked a seafood evening meal twice and both times cancelled - first time there was not enough staff and the next night there was no seafood available. Hotel had no interest whatsoever in our inconvenience.

mostly ok for this standard of hotel
one early evening we were told no food available and the bar is closed due to staff shortages we asked if we could have a cold drink or even tea or coffee as it is a long very steep walk into town or down 40 steep concrete steps to the promenade we were curtly told reception staff to busy and not their job we queried this of a 4 star hotel but were told again all closed The pictures of this hotel do not give you any perception of how many steep steps or how steep the road is down to the promenade Be aware this hotel is not what it seems unless you are young and fit

car park is a nightmare

Good location. parking available ( fortunately not a to large car) Spacious room. Clean comfy large bed. Balcony even in a standard room.
Overpriced breakfast in a cramped room, nice view but hardly enough room to sit and personnel running on the brink of a nervous breakdown
7.0
Staff were exceptional. Breakfast was of a high standard. Room was small but fully fitted and there was an excellent view. Car parking on site is limited and difficult. Vehicle access to the Hotel is not good. The lift and steps to the beach/promenade is a good amenity. The exterior finish of lower floors from the promenade is a bit depressing.
The Hoel is what it is - we had a very pleasant stay but the price is a little high for this type of amenity.
