Food was extra to the price and host explained that we could have gotten up to 40% off final price by not booking through booking.com. overall price with accomation and food turned out to be very expensive.

The location was phenomenal! Wow! This kasbah was extra special for the stone exterior. Typically, the Moroccan kasbahs are very beautiful but very similar; this kasbah had a bit of a European vibe due to the uncovered stonework which made it feel unique. The guests had access to the entire kasbah, not just the guest house, and it was very special to walk around the historical property. The renovated rooms were more spacious than I had anticipated. The hotel seemed to be a very popular destination for climbers. However, we took the hour drive to the painted rocks of Tafroute which made for a fun day trip, and on our 2nd day we took a hike through the nearby "Berber zigzag" trails which offered beautiful viewpoints of the valley and the kasbah.
The Wifi was very limited and did not reach the rooms. If you are looking for an early start, you may want to skip breakfast as it took a very long time to deliver and is not worth the cost. Unfortunately, the Booking.com listing indicates that breakfast is included; however, breakfast is not included and guests are charged 85 dirhams per person for breakfast. This is a very high cost for breakfast especially given that breakfast was one egg, one pancake, and one msemmen bread. This was the only truly disappointing aspect of our stay.

This is an exceptional place to stay. You are in a kasbah on a hill, with views for miles around. The staff are very friendly and the evening meal was tasty. Watching your luggage hauled up by a machine is a highlight.
It's hard to say anything was wrong as it's such a great experience. Only small drawback was the pillows which are very firm and large, so a bit uncomfortable.

Amazing location, comfortable room with Moroccan decor. very helpful staff and the actual Kasbah is fantastic and great to explore. A memorable stay.
Food good but a little pricey

Impressive building, lovely terrace, friendly staff
Small amount of meat in the dinners and long wait when busy.

The kasbah and the view from it is beautiful.
Very bland and very overpriced food. No vegetarian option (vegetarian doesn't mean "served without the meat", it's mean "made with no meat"...).

This guest house is a scam! When will people heed other negative reviews which expose this rapacious man and stop entering this place even for a visit, never mind staying overnight? Avoid this place completely!
I booked a room for €61.20 via booking-com. I reserved a dinner for €32 for two people. I paid this man €93.20 in advance (that is 1,030 Moroccan dirham).
His page on booking-com says:
“Guests are offered mint tea upon arrival. Free internet.”
All that is false. We were offered nothing upon arrival. Internet was available only for the first 20 minutes near the owner’s office while he was sitting there. When this extremely stingy owner leaves his office, the wi-fi is switched off. Afterwards, there was no internet access at all anywhere.
The room has very little light; it was uncomfortable and with no place to put suitcase or clothes. Electric sockets are torn out with bare wires. The lampshades were twisted and repaired with tape. All rooms are freezing and without ANY heating. Our room had holes in the ceiling through which daylight was seen. At night it was frost -3°C outside, and it became +2°C in the room. We could not sleep all night due to cold — there was no heating whatsoever. There was total lack of comfort.
Bathroom: we did not have hot water at all — occasionally water was barely lukewarm, at all other times it was just cold water. As it turned out on the following morning, this extremely miserly owner of this guest-house deliberately rations hot water, switches on the boiler for a very limited time, and even then he reduced its temperature. He does not want his guests to have heating, hot water, internet or even light in corridors.
The shower in the bathroom has no glass surround or curtain; just a plastic shower head attached in the middle of a wall, so the entire bathroom becomes wet when you shower (in cold water!). You have to stand in a poodle of cold water on cold tiles in a freezing room.
There is not any way to dry the floor, and the bathroom remains flooded and unusable for 24 hours.
The promised welcome tea was not given on arrival. With regard to dinner for €32, we were told that there is a set menu, and it is impossible to choose any dishes. When we sat down at a table, we were given a plastic bottle of water. I had assumed the water was complimentary and was included as part of the dinner. After dinner we were given tea that we had not asked for; we drank it thinking it was offered as part of the dinner.
On the following morning when we were leaving the hotel, the owner angrily demanded:
— 20 dirham for a bottle of water before the dinner (he pointed at the inconspicuous printed notice behind a bar that drinks are excluded from the €32 dinner);
— 40 dirham for tea;
— 40 dirham for entering the grounds of the kasbah (he pointed at the notice that all day visitors must pay an entry charge of 20 dirham per person); but we were overnight guests there — he still demanded that we pay an entry fee!
— 20 dirham as a fine because my companion brough a bottle of juice with him into the lounge (he pointed at a notice behind the lounge door, which states guests are prohibited from bringing drinks, otherwise there will be a fine 20 dirham).
I refused to pay him additional 120 dirham, as they were just contrived, fabricated charges, which he had never announced before. The owner became highly abusive and obnoxious, and ordered a male staff member to lock the huge prison-like gate. The staff member used a 15-cm long steel key to lock the gate, and we were told we would not be allowed to leave until we pay 120 dirham. Effectively, they kept us as hostages. We waited for 2 hours and decided to call police to report extortion and false imprisonment.
When the obnoxious owner heard that we were speaking to police, he ordered his male staff member to unlocked the gate. Then he forcibly grabbed us behind our arms and violently pushed us outside the gate.

The staff was impeccable - always helpful, always smiling and always polite. Faultless. The entire place was magical due to its historical element and amazing decor. Loved the approach to the reception but please check with staff if you have mobility issues.
Food was decent. Room and bathroom was fair.
Maybe better over warmer season as room can get quite cold in winter. Gas heater was insufficient to warm the room up. Room is rather dark as we may have had a room with smaller windows. While food was decent, it can get a bit boring after 3 nights.

Staff very friendly and location very special.
Water not hot (but warm).
The food was a little bit too expensive, compared to other places (but still very good).

very friendly staff. excellent food. great location.

It is a restored fortress decorated in the most authentic Moroccan rural style in one of the most beautiful areas of Morocco, the Anti Altas. The staff is attentive, the food delicious and it is very clean. Climbing there has been astonishing.
All is excellent. Just the area has a lot of restrictions and sometimes hot water for shower failed at nights, and breakfast is a bit repetitive if you stay there long time. But this is do the difficulties to provide a high level service in a difficult area.

It was quite hot, so a fan would have been very nice.

A fabulous guesthouse in amazing surroundings, great for hiking in the mountains. The staff were brilliant, multilingual and friendly, the showers were hot and powerful, and the food was authentic and delicious. The view of the stars at night from the terrace were the best we've ever seen.

location and views. very good service from the waiter/receptionist full of local information.
not too keen on being presented with a set menu in the evening and thought the drinks, by Moroccan standards, a bit on the pricey side.

This is an exceptional place. Just look at the pictures! The facilities are simple but comfortable. The food again is simple but tasty, with Berber touches that I've not come across in a a great many stays in Morocco.
The staff are lovely and very helpful, including fixing my car on a couple of occasions! There is secure parking to the rear. You have to ring to get somebody to open the door and your baggage will be hoisted up by crane.
Highly recommended. Been here several times.
Floor in the bathroom was very slippery. Be careful.

The property was authentic and not touristy, the renovation is being done in the Berber way.
Nothing really, it was as we had expected.

the accommodation is of historical significance and is being beautifully restored. Service was outstanding as was the food
the shower in the bathroom with no glass surrounds, so the entire bathroom got wet when you showered and there wasn't anyway to dry the floor.

The kasbah is very nice surrounded by very beautiful landscapes. The people are very nice and the rooms are nice.
We didn’t like that we were served way too much food as we don’t like to waste food.
