The location was really pretty and quiet. A bit far from the town centre, half an hour walk but we did not mind it. We liked how bright and warm the room was. The mountain view was spectacular. Shower room was of a good size and worked well for us. The gentleman in the reception made our stay really welcoming. He was really polite and helpful. Thank you!
The balcony window needs adjusting to stop the draught coming in. The bed's mattresses seem outdated and were not too comfortable. The pillows could do with a bit of an upgrade too. We felt that the cleaning staff could have emptied the rubbish bin once a day and swiped the floors but didn't. A bit of a shame about the entrance and the lack of welcoming factor in the reception, which was very cluttered and very outdated, lots of things everywhere which was too confusing and overwhelming. There was a lack of politeness from the head of housekeeping, a lady was not very polite and very direct with her words, not very customer focused. Overall we felt that Pod Smerkami could be a much more welcoming hotel with small facilities adjustments and some customer warmth added. Good for a really short stay though.

Very authentic hotel made of wood and with view at mountains. It's a bit far away from the center (around 25 min on foot), but close to railway station (10 min on foot). The owner is very talkative and helpful, they called in advance to ask about time of check-in and our room was ready around 13.00.
The room has 2 huge balconies with view at mountains and comfortable chairs to relax. Also it's quite spacious for 2 people. Also you can buy breakfast for 25 PLN.
- the hotel is a bit old and needs renovation, which is noticable in bathroom (shower keeper is broken, canalization is not good)
- to make 1 big bed, you have to merge 2 small beds as it's only one option in hotel to have big bed.
- no hair dryer in the room
- breakfast has small choice for 25 PLN, especially for vegetarians: they only suggest boiled eggs, different sausages and cheese. No omlet or some salads, no oatmeal, and coffee is only instant.

The facility was ok, with some minor negligible drawbacks. However, there was one main thing that made me dislike this facility (see below).
The owner's wife (I am not 100% sure, but I think she was his wife) was rightout hostile towards us. I don't know if it was because we are foreigners, or if it is her general attitude, but the end result doesn't change: you cannot run a hotel with that kind of attitude.
Another point is that nobody speaks ANY foreign language and NO signs in English are on display. We managed with our Russian, but not everybody would have coped. The house rules, which include fire safety instructions, are in Polish only. This is the first time I see something like that in the last 20 years or so, I thought monolingualism in this business was a thing of the past.

Pretty hotel not too far from the town centre. Breakfast was good value for money. Nice balcony off the room with nice views.
The road down from the hotel was extremely icy and slippery and the owners should have gritted it. Luckily it thawed because I thought I was going to be stranded there or break my neck trying to walk.
Very dusty under the bed.
Small hard beds.

Fabulous place! Had a very spacious room with two balconies! Clean and comfy.
It's a little bit away from the center but close to the train station.
Staff only spoke Polish, but owner was very nice.

Nice eco house, big room and balcony, friendly staff, big kitchen. Everything I needed was there.
