Views were amazing.
The room was super comfortable and spacious.
Every morning we highly enjoyed the breakfast options and the service of the staff was tremendous.
Bed could be a little more comfy but was no problem!

This accommodation is the BEST!
It’s like you are in paradise, wow! We will 100% come back here when again in Costa Rica.
The location is perfect, close to the restaurants, shops and the national park. You have an amazing view on the ocean. We had a lovely terrace with a room and spend quite some time up there. Watching the scarlet macaws flying by and the monkeys having fun around us was just amazing.
The pool is lovely with some nice beds to relax on.
Breakfast was great, typical Costa Rican or alternative breakfast, so good for everyone. We tried both and both was lovely.
Bed was comfortable, bathroom was good, room was enough and terrace was just lovely.
But the loveliest part is you are amidst the animals and have great views of the monkeys and scarlet macaws (ofcourse no guarantee), but we saw plenty!!

From the time that I booked a room, communication with the hotel was fantastic (thank you Dennys!). I needed a place where I could work remote and this was perfect. I had a nice table on a large balcony and could work while enjoying the birds and monkeys. Internet was just like at home. The accommodations were really comfortable. In the mornings I got exercise by walking 20 minutes down to the beach, running, swimming and then hiking back up...had breakfast and then started my work day. They also helped book activities and transportation when I wasn't working.

beautiful location magnificent sea views

location, views , wildlife, friendly staff, comfortable room, lovely pool area
only thing I could improve was the choice at breakfast, we stayed 10 nights and got a little bored with only 2 choices

We loved everything about this place. We had a private balcony with a hammock and ceiling fan, air conditioning and en suite bathroom in the room. They have an amazing outdoor area with a pool to enjoy happy hour and the wildlife. There are several shops and restaurants within walking distance or a short bus ride away.
4.5
location close to restaurants, helpful staff and friendly atmosphere. the room with jungle view always had a pleasant breeze and many birds were close at hand for photography. the bus stop to the beach was right outside the door.

Room felt like a true villa. We were on one of the lower floors with a balcony and couch. Felt very private. Location is incredible. 10 minute walk to any place for dinner, groceries, sunset. The bus down to the beach costs 390 colones and runs every 20 minutes. We also took the bus to Quepos for a day too. Excellent public transit. You could hear howler monkeys at night and there's plenty of geckos and wildlife all around you. Room was spacious with plenty of amenities (fridge, sink, glassware, plates, etc). Dennis was so helpful and kind to us as well.
Small check-in window. Basically 3:00pm-5:00pm. It wasn't a problem for us, but they did say if we arrived after 5:00pm the security guard would let us in but wouldn't be able to give us the rundown because he doesn't speak English.

Amazing location and unbelievable view, felt like in the middle of jungle. Clean rooms, massive living room, outdoor private space. Modern and stylish interior.
Nothing.

really loved our stay here, the view was beautiful, and lots of wildlife to watch from our patio. Location is great, close to several good restaurants. The hotel is older, but in good condition.
Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Though we loved the chef!

The room was a good size and the pool was lovely albeit a nervous swimmer may have found it too deep. (5ft at shallow end). Location was great, 15 mins walk to the beach and 2 mins to the high street.
It was a little off-putting being asked to wash our hands as we walked through the door, even before we were asked our names. Breakfast was very basic just same 2 choices each day and other options such as an omelet instead of scrambled eggs costing $6.00 more. After 4 days we gave up and headed for the high street for breakfast. View from the room was a sea view but between the trees.

location, staff, lovely room, scenic views

Very good location for local restaurants/bars
Regular cheap bus to beach/national park 2 mins walk from hotel
Great setting for nature, plenty wildlife in local area including sloth in the hotel grounds when we arrived
Lovely clean pool, looks much bigger than in the pictures
Very friendly and helpful staff
Our room was located at the bottom of several flights of stairs which someone with mobility issues would struggle with
No shower screen or curtain means the bathroom gets soaked every time you have a shower

room # 5 was “sea view” which should’ve been partial & charged accordingly . steps are very dangerous when wet & poorly made

The hotel is nice and clean, you can see animals from the balcony, the cooks for the breakfast are really nice!
Réception opened from 9 to 5pm, basically when you are not in.
Hotel expensive for the level of services proposed.

The hotel was even nicer in person. Totally meet our expectations and then some. Staff was super helpful and friendly.

very centrally located. beautiful views from our room, feels like your living in a rain forest near manuel antonio park. staff was extremely helpful. amazing restaurants between 3-5 min walk around the hotel.
the breakfast could have more options

Magical stay! The best hotel for nature you could imagine. We had a top floor room with a liana area. We spent so much time just watching the birds, iguanas and monkeys from the hammock. We probably saw more wildlife in the grounds than in the national park! All three types of monkeys came through during our 4 night stay. The room was clean and cozy. Air con and fan worked well. Denny was a fantastic host who was incredibly helpful and friendly. The pool area was clean and very relaxing. Breakfast was simple but tasty.

good location, nice swimming pool. rooms were a good size.
drains smelled in the bathroom.

Incredible location, quiet but with easy access to the local bars and restaurants. Walkable to the beach and National park (though you may wish to bus or taxi the way back as it is uphill). We like to cook and Villas Nicholas had everything we needed, plus the spectacular view from the veranda whilst dining. A highlight was watching the squirrel monkeys and hummingbirds in the mornings. The host, Dennys, was very welcoming and helpful. Complimentary breakfast was delicious and the place is very clean, safe and COVID secure.
Nothing!

The view from our room was amazing! The hotel staff were great, and I don't remember reading about an included breakfast, so that was a nice surprise. And, it was a nice, hot breakfast. Our room was spacious & comfortable, too.

Super clean, comfortable, stylishly appointed villa situated midst the natural surroundings and offering a grand view to the pacific. Local shuttle running between beach, park and town makes it really easy to get around.
No complaints at all.

Watching the wildlife from our balcony and from the pool.
Having to wear a mask but that's not their fault

I would call our room minimalist modern. It was done nicely even though that is usually not my favorite style. We had a very nice compact kitchenette with dishes, silverware, etc. Our kichenette actually had a microwave which we really appreciated. Our covered deck was very private and looked out into tropical trees and foliage. The units are on a hillside and ours was at the bottom of the establishment. I think some of the upper units had nice views above the trees. Breakfast was very nice and located on a covered outdoor terrace next to the pool. All the tropical plants, flowers, Costa Rican lava stone statuary gave the area a somewhat mysterious tropical air. The pool was wonderful too with comfortable chaise lounges.
The bathroom has an open shower. Water went everywhere! I had to wipe down the whole room with a towel. The counter around the bathroom sink was very tiny. We did not cook any actual meals in the kitchenette, so I used the little counter in the kitchen to spread out medications, cosmetics, hair supplies. There just wasn't enough surface areas to set items that come into a motel room with you. A desk would have been oh so helpful. Depending on where your villa is located, you may have to navigate many steps, and these steps are a little steeper than the average American stairway. If you have hip or knee problems, beware. We asked at the front office for someone to come to our room and carry our luggage up all those stairs when we left (we're not as young as we once were!). They were happy to help.

great location, tons of wildlife right outside our porch, dennys the front office manager is amazingly helpful. go to langosta feliz and Emilio’s cafe you won’t be disappointed!

Hotel Villas Nicolas is an adults-only facility, an aspect that was fully appreciated for this part of our Costa Rica holiday. Located immediately off a busy road from the town of Quepos to the main Manuel Antonio beach and the entrance to the National Park lined extensively by hotels, restaurants and supermarkets, the transformation on passing Reception is magical! Beyond a breakfast patio you reach the pool which is not large but big enough to swim in and surrounded by gardens and trees that would lead you to believe the road and commercial facilities were a world away. There always seemed to be enough provision of sunbeds and chairs for the number of guests. The accommodation is in the form of a number of self-contained small villas with self-catering facilities. Ours was down a fairly steep flight of about 20 steps, entered via an outside terrace with a hammock and exquisite views across forest and out to the Pacific Ocean especially wonderful as the sun set. We did not use the self-catering facilities other than to prepare assorted drinks, fruit and sandwiches as we were keen to indulge in local seafood cuisine in nearby restaurants (and the breakfasts were large enough for us to need little sustenance until supper). Perhaps the adults-only environment attracted guests of similar ilk for we had no difficulty engaging with compatible neighbours who seemed to be there for similar reasons to us.
The reception staff were very helpful arranging a tour to the National Park and a taxi one night that we ventured to a restaurant beyond walking distance. The National Park entrance was somewhat chaotic and anyone who had not made an advance booking was likely to be disappointed as by 8.00am no further admissions were allowed. If you are lucky, you could see more amazing wildlife in the hotel grounds than in the National Park. We saw a spectacular pair of macaws nesting in a palm tree stump and even more fortunate guests saw mother and baby sloths!
The bed was smaller than we are used to and barely large enough although both I and my wife are on the smaller side of average stature.
Although nothing to do with the hotel, the vast number of visitors entering the National Park over a short period of time was unwelcome and more than one visitor was overheard to say "This is a nightmare"! Over time groups with different guides tended to disperse, creating a better experience. Without a guide it would be very difficult to see much wildlife as it was hard enough even with one! For those attracted to beaches it would be worth going to the National Park just for access to the magnificent beaches within the park (much more attractive than the main Manuel Antonio Espadilla public beach).

We had a great time at Villas Nicolas. the view was amazing and very peaceful. I highly recommend!

The pool, comfortable pool chairs, and the breakfast as well as the breakfast staff. Room was very small but nice and clean.
The room #5 down is 55 stairs down to the jungle floor. Extremely small, no shade on balcony during the day and very uncomfortable chairs on balcony, one was broken & the other is for taking the sun. We had our meals inside with plates on our laps.
