Good location
Car parking
Sheets were nice and clean
No clear reception area
No-one to greet us
Room was unfinished with a hole and water staining in the ceiling
Bathroom was rather quirky
No soaps provided, not invited for dinner
Room seemed to be a bit of a dumping ground for beds with 2 single needs, one double and a travel cot propped up in a corner
No information about breakfast and none was provided, despite adverts for a free breakfast
All in all, felt ignored by staff from beginning to end
It felt more like a bunkhouse at inflated price

Friendly staff, despite the fact we turned up plastered in mud on mountain bikes and at £35 pppn including breakfast it met our limited budget, family rooms worked well for a group of friends. Standard pub food, rooms were warm, met expectations for the price point. Good location for riding and visiting Pistyll Rhaeadr etc.
Not pristine clean (although neither were we, so that wasn't a high priority!) And could maybe have done with a bit more soap/ shampoo/ mugs in the family rooms.

Location was good for our needs, beds were comfy.
Could not get Wi-Fi in the room even though there was a hub in it. (They did apologise) but 3 days no internet when your phone provider doesn’t cover that area for signal wasn’t great as we couldn’t stay in contact with family and friends. There was a bath and not a shower in the room and on the last night no hot water for a bath.

This is casual accommodation, suitable for walkers, cyclists and bikers who need to stay in the area. Bar food and beer are good.
Shower was too hot, but host responded to this when I reported it.

Location was the only thing which was good.
No WiFi, the room has the bathtub, but no shower basin sink was very bad water stuck. Bed pillows and duvet smell very awful.
Beds were not comfortable at all. Luckily, we only stayed for one night.

We've been before and hopefully we'll go again. The evening meal was excellent [Lamb Casserole, Minted Lamb Casserole - both really good]. Good beer. Very pleasant staff/owner. Good breakfast.

The pub down stairs is spot on. Parking on site. Beautiful location.

No breakfast available. No one about to cook breakfast so quiet a few upset customers

The location was perfect for our purposes. The staff were fab. Music on the Sunday night was a great bonus. A really friendly place to stay.
No shower or hot water in the bedroom. No bedside light. It's a shame they don't have more staff as they were pretty rushed which meant a dip in service unfortunately.

Beds were clean and comfy, showers were hot! Food was great!
Roof was leaking in room 10 and we only got one toilet roll in one of our two rooms to cater for six people.

Just a fabulously phenomenal place. People and atmosphere full of kindness. The location at the top of the mountains, the view from the window to the top of the mountains. It's a fairy tale for us.
Everything was fine.

the location
abit small

The pub food was good and the location was ideal for riding at Revolution Bike Park nearby. The staff were also very friendly and happy to help.
It was fairly expensive for the location, but not surprising given the difficulty in finding available alternate options. The room was dated and bathroom could do with a refit.

location
untidy, shower was broke, dirty towels left in the room, dirty mugs & kettle, no toilet roll.

Nothing.
Considering Masks are meant to be mandatory no staff or customers were wearing mask at any time even when being served breakfast. We went out to celebrate New Year came back at 1am, unable to get in the bar to get a glass for bedroom as rammed with rowdy customers still being served at the bar at least 50 in one room and nobody wearing masks. 2am fire alarm going off for hour caused by drunk teenagers, glasses being smashed but still continued to serve alcohol and allowed in beer garden. Springs in mattress nearly coming through.

I made a booking at approx. 9.25pm, as my friend's tent had blown down, and my friend was about to sleep in the car for the night with her 2 kids. When I went on to the site it said the inn was 5.6m away, which I thought was the local village. When I spoke to the inn to confirm this, they said it was about 30 miles away. There was no way my friend could get there by the time check in expired. I double checked this distance verbally. When I asked the man (I believe he was the owner/ manager) if I could receive a refund, as I thought it was closer, he said I would 'have to speak to Booking.com about that.' I did, on a number of occasions, in order to try and get my £105 back. They advised me it was down to the property, who on every occasion, the man declined to come to the phone, and the person taking my call said he was not in. I never got to go to the property, and I do not feel this was rectified in a humane manner, given the circumstances. The distance to the property from my location was changed the next day. It did no longer say it was 5.6 miles, but 13.6 miles, so the man had given me incorrect information on the previous night, and updated the distance overnight. I would still like my refund, as I feel it was reasonable, given the circumstances.

Decent enough country pub. Nice cooked breakfast. Nice Butty Bach.
Bedrooms could do with a revamp but at these prices what more would you expect?

Location is perfect, typical old village pub , views of mountains lovely
For £105 definitely not worth it, furniture dated and old, mattress was awful, WiFi non existent so had to pay for bt WiFi so could stay in contact with daughter who I’m thankful didn’t come due to the door closers being broke and doors banging constantly, one small bottle shampoo and one small bottle body wash for what was meant to be 3 wouldn’t have been adequate, tea making facilities poor not refreshed from last guest, overall disappointing
Could be a gem of a place if money spent on rooms

Scenic location, pleasant staff, reasonable menu for dinner. Free car park.
Stayed for two days. No cooked breakfast one day. Squash rather than juice in breakfast. Uncomfortable beds. No wardrobe in the room. Slipping toilet seat. Weak shower. Non functional table lamp. No TV signal and a big box type TV. No mobile phone signal (Three, Smarty). Free WiFi but slow. Could hear people talking in adjacent room till midnight.

Tasty mushrooms in cooked breakfast. Very friendly people

Good location , staff were helpful when we had a issue. Good food.
The first night we were in a room above the bar , it was incredibly loud . The music was so loud and didn’t stop until 2300 . Then after that you could hear everyone talking , in the bar and outside as even with the window shut , you could still hear outside as there was a gap around the edge! So didn’t actually get to sleep until after midnight. Spoke to the staff in the morning and we did manage to move to a little cottage over the road. The second night we slept very well indeed. The room was very dated but matched the pub so it is what it is with that . Breakfast was good and the meals we had in the evening were also very good . Another thing to mention is there is no phone signal and the WiFi was very hit and miss which only worked in the bar area , not the rooms.
