Good location, bathroom was recently refurbished
My room had no wifi signal - when I asked at the desk, they said "We don't advertise wifi in all our rooms". My room did have an information sheet with the wifi details and no indication that it wasn't available there.
In the third decade of the 21st century, this isn't good enough.

ease of location - off the hovercraft over footbridge into hotel.

opp bus stop
room v hot and only one window opened

Food was good
As there were 2 coach party there the service was slow and we didn't have a good choice of time slot as they were given preference.

The staff especially Teri on reception lovely welcome and very helpful.Good veggie breakfast and friendly breakfast team....Location is great if foot passenger ..Great sea view....Able to store luggage after checkout.
The checkin is far too late 4pm & checkout is too early 10am.Windows painted shut in bedroom.

The stuff at the hotel was great, very helpful and kind. Our room was spotless and very tidy, very happy with the cleaning in general.
That aside, the place needs a renovation to all the rooms as the carpet seemed as it ends of life and the rooms could have been more updated and it doesn’t take much as I know this hotel is booked by a very expensive price Spring and even more on Summer! The change of carpet for a solid floor would help the cleaning stuff and prevent asthmatic people being exposed to dust/dirt.
The morning breakfast could be more, it was very much an egg, a sausage and a small bacon. It’s the breakfast with a good service what makes a difference to any person staying at this place that may come back. It could be also helpful to separate 2 sites length wise for “tour” buses trips and the rest of the hotel, we were denied sitting by the windows and just at the darkest places which seemed odd because we all paid to eat. Adding to the breakfast, everything was spotless and well presented but missing more options for those with intolerance to cow milk, butter, etc. More fruits like apples or bananas could have been great.

Room with a sea view. Friendly staff. Just access the road from the Hoverport.
Nothing to dislike.

A traditional and well run hotel, right on Ryde Esplanade. We had a lovely large double room, very comfortable bed too. Which made a change, as we had stayed in several other hotels round the island with incredibly uncomfortable mattresses. Nice bar downstairs. Really great staff, very attentive and so helpful, we had a great stay.
Nothing really.

Room was very comfortable
Breakfast was fantastic, the waiter couldnt do enough for us.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful
Shower head was loose, so made it a bit awkward to shower

Ridiculously tiny twin room without enough space for two people to sit comfortably. Nowhere to unpack or store clothes for two people. staff are friendly but mostly very young and inexperienced and unintentionally irritating by saying things like 'That's not a problem' when you're asking them to bring something they've forgotten or pointing out something wrong. ridiculous performance of having to specify a half hour breakfast window when you arrive at the beginning of your stay. WiFi didnt work for most of our stay. When I pointed this out I was told that it was because it was a Victorian building. I pointed out that the Victorians didn't install the wifi and they looked at me as if I was mad.

The bed was very squeaky and uncomfortable, the floor boards were very creaky & night member of staff on reception was off and really moody. Wouldn’t return again.

Room was small but exceptionally clean. Bed was awfully small and uncomfortable. Breakfast was a let down, food poor and understaffed, bar smelt of damp. On leaving the hotel receptionist was miserable and unfriendly which was a shame as on arrival was met with wonderfully smiley staff.

You couldn't ask for a better hotel to stay at. Centrally located steps from the pier in Ryde, you can drop your bags off at your room and start exploring the city right away.
The listed building is gorgeous, and oozes charm and character. Staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful, willing to recommend places to see and where to eat. The breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day, with many options to satisfy even a picky eater.
Only quibble would be the sounds you could hear via outside and from neighboring rooms. Sound dampening would be lovely, but I prefer the historical charm and will happily take a bit of excess noise as people go to their rooms and wind down for the night.

Good location on seafront. Nice breakfast.
Just one gripe, night porter went missing in action Saturday night @12. Had to wait approx 20mins to enter hotel to get key.

The staff were without exception friendly, helpful and polite. Breakfast was great, location excellent, and the bath was a real bonus for these days.
A small gripe only. Our room was not attended (bed-making, general refresh) after the first night. But really felt petty to complain about it. Overall not a problem!

Easy to book. Good size bathroom. Central location. Handy got hovercraft.
Noise from hovercraft! Sink partially blocked. No lift so struggled up several flights of stairs with suitcases. Breakfast not available til nearly 9am because of coach parties. (7.30 was possible but that was too early). Staff in the restaurant not particularly welcoming. Helpful receptionist though.
3.7
Convenient location, friendly staff and good breakfast.
Rooms are quite dated but I don’t really consider that to be a big problem!
3.7
Location and storage for our two bikes. Spacious twin room.
More choice at breakfast buffet and multi grain bread.

The only good thing about the visit was Gordon, the waiter at breakfast. Such a lovely cheery man. The hotel was unbelievably hot even when the outside temperature was 20 degrees. Had to have the fun all night. Even the temp in the breakfast room was stifling.
The room wasn’t properly cleaned, not a lot of attention to detail. There was a long dark hair in the rolled up bath mat. We returned on the second day and it was obvious it had not been hoovered properly, there were small bits of fluff and other bits on the carpet, and a corner of a packet of malteasers, which had been left from the previous occupants.
When we arrived, we tried to make a cup of tea. It tasted of vinegar and chemicals and left me feeling a bit sick. About 30 minutes later there was a knock on the door and a member of staff, unprompted, told us we must boil the kettle twice, as it contained cleaning product. She assured us it was not harmful but it was quite alarming. It was then we showed her the kettle handle, which was broken and needed replacing as it was dangerous. She told us it would be replaced. It never was. Two bottles of water were in the room when we arrived, and replaced the next night. When we returned for our last night there were none there. I don’t know if it was lack of attention to detail, or as it was our last night, they couldn’t be bothered.
We expected more service for the high price for the superior room price,. We have stayed there quite a few times prior to the pandemic. We won’t bother returning.
Heat in the hotel, uncomfortable bed. Rooms were shabby. Lack of attention to detail. Breakfast has gone downhill. ‘Hand carved ham’ at breakfast is packet thin sliced ham. Quite sad how the place has gone downhill.

The staff make this place. The friendly staff helped me on many occasions and went out of their way on more times than one.
Small complaint but would be better if kitchen stayed open just a smidge later for serving breakfast.
