About this apartment rental

Sitting on the west and east sides of a well-maintained condominium, our rental offers scenic views of the canal and landscaped backyard. We take very good care of the property, seeking to give our guests the best of both a home and a hotel. Either on the unit’s east or west decks, the pristine beach, or by the pool, there is plenty of space to enjoy the sun in an area surrounded by nature.

Irida II is based on a theme. In recognition of the very long and storied maritime history of the Outer Banks, we created three rooms of photography – in effect three galleries – that tell a story of nature and the human desire to sail. We are sailors, and we have been blessed for years to experience the incredible gifts of nature the Outer Banks provides. It is our pleasure to attempt to share our world through our eyes.

Grocery shopping and numerous restaurants are all within a five-minute drive, and Ocean Air Sports – a leading watersports center on the outer banks – is next door. This area is one of the most popular kiteboarding and windsurfing locations on the entire east coast, and it is equally known for its fishing. A beautiful canal gives access to Pamlico Sound, or public access to the ocean beach is only a ten-minute walk away. Given the Outer Banks, concentration of federal and state protected lands, there is ample opportunity for nature-based recreation, and its history is legendary.

Our unit is one level and is located on the first floor, making for easier accommodation than most places in the Outer Banks. The unit has a full kitchen, and two full bathrooms. Cable television and internet are included, as well as access to the pool. A ground level storage unit is included, and is suitable for storing windsurfing, surfing, paddle boards, or kiteboarding equipment. The unit can hold two bicycles.

This was a very clean place to stay. Exactly what they listed and no more. Would have appreciated a satellite/birds-eye view of the location included in the description. Could also hear the residents in the unit above.

I had a wonderful long week-end stay at this apartment right next to Ocean Air and very close to Pamlico Sound, perfect for kitesurfing excursions and enjoying Avon! Wonderful host, and a very clean and charming apartment. I loved the windsurfing and kitesurfing pictures;-)

Our family stayed Sunday thru Friday. It was nice and relaxing. We had to pool to ourselves most of the week. On the northern edge of Avon so everything you need is a short drive away. The condo was nice and we had no issues.

I chose this condo because it is centrally located on Hatteras. Spacious for the two of us, very clean, great communication with the host. Eco-friendly technology for lighting, fans, and a/c was impressive. I would definitely book this again…highly recommend.

This was our first trip to the Outer Banks and we depended strictly on previous reviews as to location and convenience to everything as we booked our stay. We were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival! The condo is well kept and incredibly clean…which is a MUST for me. The location was great! The condo is very energy efficient and we liked the fans so much, we’re replacing the ones in our own home. We had a delightful stay and we’ll return next year. Thank you so very much!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect where the beach was walking distance and stores were a quick drive away. We had to go to the store several times to get essentials that we normally would expect at a place (ie. dish soap, detergent, sponge, dishwasher detergent, trash bags, etc.) We also expected the washer/dryer to be in the unit instead of a communal one. The description did not indicate this. If we were to return again, we would make sure to stay in an above ground unit. The neighbors above us were pretty loud starting at 6:00 am- 12:00 midnight.

We checked in the Condo right after the check in time. It was already freshly cleaned with fresh towels and sheets. We spent a lot of time at the pool, which was very close to the condo. We enjoyed our stay!

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was terrific close enough to the beach but great views of the bay and kite surfers. The pool was also a treat for my son when he was tired of the beach. My only critique is the master bedroom mattress was really loud and squeeked whenever me or my wife moved. Otherwise a very pleasant stay!

This was our first stay in Avon having stayed In northern OBX communities previously. What an idyllic and peaceful area, definitely our favorite beaches so far, and Ocracoke was a great and easy to access day trip. The home itself was modern, well thought out and very clean. Our kids loved being able to go easily between the beach and pool. Highly recommend and concur with all the other 5 star reviews.

It is a great family friendly location that is close to most attractions in Outer Banks. We, a family of 4 had a very comfortable stay. Few things to highlight are the very comfortable beddings, kitchen with all cookwares and utensils, well furnished, very clean and nice looking rooms, balcony with nice view, 1st floor. Would definitely recommend.

This was our 1st family vacation with our 2 girls and their 1st time seeing the ocean. We loved our home away from home, especially having breakfast on the balcony. Easy to book and communication was always clear and owners were available if needed. Very easy process too!

A really nice place

My family and I enjoyed this place. It was walking distance from the beach and a pool was right outside. There wasn’t much to do on the sound side, but you could drive south a bit to find a spot to relax. It was an enjoyable vacation and I really appreciated how neat, open, and inviting this place was.

We really enjoyed our stay. The condo had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. This was our first time staying in Avon and we really enjoyed exploring the southern part of the Outer Banks. Some additional information about beach access and the area in general would have been helpful in the guest information. It also took a little while getting used to the TV since they only had Hulu and Roku and we are not used to streaming services. Overall our stay was very nice and we enjoyed our time here.

The location was extremely easy to locate. The entire place was comfortable. Everything was very up to date, nice, and easy to use. We really enjoyed our stay and cant wait until we can make it back again. It will be the first place I check for availability when we return to OBX.

Balcony gives a peek at creek and soundside. Boat ramp less than 3 minutes away and harbor boat ramp access less than 10 minutes away.My only difficulty was figuring out the light switches, which have a dimmer feature - press and hold is the secret for those lights that can be adjusted in kitchen/over dining table. Excellent knife selection for cooking and nice cast iron skillets!***** well deserved

The condo was very well appointed and comfortable, and very clean. And the beaches in Avon are beautiful, and not crowded, so it was easy to socially distance. We enjoyed our time there greatly. Were able to walk to the beach, rent kayaks next door and enjoyed swimming in the sound. The property managers were easy to communicate with and quick to reply.

This was our greatest experience in the North Carolina. The manager of the place is very friendly. He promptly answered all my questions. This is a second floor apartment with a two sides view and a nice lounge balcony. We spent most of our nights resting there after the dinner. There are several bars, cafes, and restaurants within walking distance. The beach is across of the street. You will need less than 5 minutes to reach it. Moreover, this lease provides for the use of the pool located next to the apartment building. The apartment is equipped with everything you need to stay. We had so much fun! We love this place! We definitely would like to go there again.
