The living room is furnished with brand new sofa, bench and chair. The kitchen is perfect for dining as it is equipped with new everything (fridge, electric burners, microwave, toaster oven, cabinets, basic utensils and cookware) etc. Bryson City is just 5 miles and Cherokee 4 miles.
Also includes towels, bedding, WiFi, cable, heating/AC and there are a few fishing poles you can use.
Location is convenient for day trips through the Great Smokey Mountains, to Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina, Asheville. Nearby areas to hike and enjoy nature. The central location of this property to so many cities, parks, waterfalls, etc., really is one of the most appreciated factors for our guests. See below for some example itineraries.
*Our guests recommend a day trip to go to various waterfalls and parks. In this order they visited: Tallulah Gorge State Park - deepest gorge this side of the Mississippi with a suspension bridge over the gorge/river for those brave enough to make the trip down the steps (more accessible view points throughout Tallulah Gorge State Park), then over to Isaqueena Falls- if you're brave you can also venture into Stumphouse Tunnel in the same area. By 1859, the State of South Carolina had spent over a million dollars on the tunnel and refused to spend any more on the project, therefore the tunnel work was abandoned. The tunnel had been excavated to a length of 1,617 feet of the planned 5,863 total feet. From there they turned back toward home and stopped at Dry Falls, a roaring waterfall which has a path you can walk behind the falls. Some pictures from these locations included to give an idea of local attractions to visit.
Guests have also recommended spending a day traveling through the Great Smokey Mountain and exit directly into Gatlinburg, Tennessee which they described as one of the most fun tourists towns they've visited with many attractions for all interests (they particularly enjoyed Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies) and fun specialty shops and restaurants on their main street. Also if you need a place for a couple extra people, the bottom cabin sleeps 2 VRBO #2471341

This was a PERFECT place directly on the river! We spent every morning having coffee by the river and some evenings cooking on the BBQ pit right next to the river. We could hear the roaring river from our bedroom. The host was very sweet and accomidating. We felt right at home. Also, close by you can go tubing and or white water rafting.

Perfect location for our trip to Cherokee, Bryson City and the Smokies. Centrally located and easy to access. The river in the back yard created a beautiful setting! Wonderful stay.

Loved everything about the property except the floors could use a good mopping. Kind of sticky.
Would definitely stay here again.

The property was great and it was just as the hostess stated in the listing. Loved the decor and hearing the river and watching my family fish was great. We will definitely be back.

We were expecting a stand alone cabin but instead it was an upstairs apartment. Owners stay below. They were very friendly. It was clean and inviting. The view was beautiful. We also were prepared to cook in an oven for dinner. But found it only had a toaster oven.

My spouse and I read how location was great. Easy access to river. Admired swing and picnic table for lunch or dinner or enjoy the deck. I have several medical issues and had just found out my hemoglobin was 8.3 almost blood transfusions level. Scheduled to receive an iron infusion. Wanted to get away and sit by the river to calm and reflect on my upcoming treatments. The apartment is above owners home. Deck is down a hill, that of which you have to walk down and back up to the highway you’re sitting on. At a busy bridge! I called the owner just to see if we could get a partial refund or anything back of our 600.+ Only to be told how sick she was and we could go over between the bridge and the neighbors to drive down to the river. We did that and the swing and picnic table were rotten. My husband 195 lbs sat on the swing and a board broke. We did not stay. We locked up and went somewhere else. We were very disappointed with the location and the owners lack of compassion. Would not recommend if you’re not capable of a hike down and back up a nice hill from the water.

We enjoyed everything about this house. We had great access to the river which was the reason I picked this house. It’s close to anything you want to do. We were visiting our daughter at WCU and she decided to stay with us, the owner put a small bed up when I told them she was staying. The beds are very soft and you can hear the river while you sleep. I will definitely stay again on our next visit.

This is just an upstairs apartment. Not the whole house. Listing doesn’t say anything about owner living in the basement.
Reasonably clean. But not great.
Front door wouldn’t latch, you have to use the deadbolt to keep it closed securely.
Nice view off the deck, but it’s not at your apartment, it’s off the owners house that lives under.
There is no washer and dryer. I suspect they expect you to use theirs which seemed too weird to ask about.
All that being said, it was a comfortable place with a soft bed in a location that had easy access to nearby points of interest.

This cabin was just what we needed! It was only a short distance from Western Carolina, Bryson City, and Cherokee. The view was beautiful each morning, as we could simply look out the window and see the river and the morning fog on the mountains. Awesome place!

The view is beautiful. Sitting out by the river was so peaceful. The cottage has everything you need and is very close to Cherokee!

We were very comfortable staying at this cabin for 2 weeks. Our grandchildren each stayed with us for a week so there was plenty of room for the 3 of us. We ate and preparred every meal at the cabin and there was adaquate pots , pans and dishes. We were not aware there was not an oven but we made do with the microwave, toaster oven, cooktop and grill. Internet signal strength was great. The owners were very pleasant, helpful, and allowed/encouraged us to utilize the spacious decks overlooking the river. They even helped us set up a fish cleaning station for the trout we caught and preparred for meals. They just couldn't have been more helpful. This was a delightful place to sta, we hope we can return.

First, we want to thank our wonderful hosts!
Kathy and Daniel are so warm and inviting! We appreciate their kindness. They have worked so hard to renovate this property and the updating in the upper level where we stayed was beautiful.
I will share positives first:
Everything, from appliances to furnishings seemed new and there was attention to detail. The space was clean and welcoming.
The bed we slept in was extremely comfortable. Also, the couch is big and comfy in the cozy living room. The river is quite beautiful in the back and you can hear it from the bedrooms.
We loved being so close to Bryson City and other things we were doing in the area. Great location!
The river in the back is gorgeous! It’s truly a great place to fish or sit and relax.
Things to be aware of:
This is a tri-level, multi family home.
We stayed on the top floor. Owners were right below us, and the bottom floor was another rental space. There is another house right next door.
If you, like us, are looking for a wooded, country cabin, this isn’t the right place for you.
Our only access into the home was immediately off the busy two lane highway 19. Very limited parking. To access river you take a walkway around from front door to the back. There is no private porch or back door. Our only view from inside the house of the river was from the small bedroom windows. We highly recommend this cute and welcoming rental if you are looking for a river setting near Bryson City.

The river location was ideal for our vacation. Our grandson had such a fun time playing at the river's edge. Our accomodations were clean and the property was well-maintained.

It was nice to be out of the city, but close to the city, it was nice being on the river and having a lot of room to roam around on the property. My husband enjoyed fishing in the river. We will stay again.

The owner has nice extras, such as spices in the cupboard, condiments in the fridge and coffee grounds in the cupboard.

The accommodations were lovely, just perfect for our family of four. Conveniently located within five miles of Bryson City and Cherokee, North Carolina and all of the fishing, hiking, and sightseeing you could want. Or, if a nice evening by the fire (a fire pit is located near the river) is more your speed, it is a great place to relax and enjoy the sound of flowing water and make S'mores.

Our stay was just what we needed! Making a well overdo connection with nature and the owners of this property gave us just that. Their picturesque backyard has a beautiful river to enjoy. Loved the sounds of the water rapids going downstream! We played games by the fire pit and reconnected as a family without electronics :) Very clean, and centrally located to all attractions to include hiking trails. Thank you for your kindness and your hospitality!

Cute, comfortable rental, top floor unit of cabin. Convenient to Bryson city and Cherokee. Very clean. Owner is friendly and was prompt to responded when coffee maker went out and replaced same day. Access to river required uneven steps, difficult with mobility issues. Overall, a very pleasant stay. 😊

The place was nice and clean. It was amazing to sleep with the windows open and listen to the river!! We met the owners at check out and they are super nice.

Clean and cozy place, close to Bryson City. We were in town for the Polar Express, which was about a 10 minute drive, so it’s hard to beat the convenience. The property was a little dated and on a main road, but traffic wasn’t bad, so it was easy to get in and out. The property manager was extremely responsive and friendly, which made the stay even more enjoyable.

Nicely kept residence with great backyard view. It is very close to the well traveled street. The walkway down to the back yard was difficult to navigate for this senior. One stone in particular was loose and hazardous.

We absolutely loved staying here. The house was immaculately clean. Beautiful views of the river from the back yard and of the mountains around. Conveniently located between Cherokee and Bryson city so you can travel to either towns to eat and see the shops. We will definitely stay here again. Kathy was an amazing host!
