Breakfast was amazing, I'm vegan and I expected very little. So the fact there was more than a few options was excellent.
The steam room and sauna were also a nice surprise.
There wasn't much to dislike, I think the pillows were feather, but that's only because I have an allergy I noticed.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a match day and they helped us navigate good times to leave/return without getting caught in traffic.
We were very kindly upgraded to a king room. It was huge and very clean and well kept. We liked having a fridge in the room and there were very comfy beds.
TV does not allow you to stream netflix etc

The brunette receptionist who worked the evening of the 29th June was extremely helpful and friendly. She went above and beyond with everything! Definitely needs some recognition for her hard work x
The cot wasn’t in the room when I arrived, however within minutes of ringing reception it was put up in the room.

Staff incredible, friendly, very helpful especially Lee. Also the homemade chocolates are immense
Paid to upgrade from standard room and the pictures show floor to ceiling large windows when we actually got a room with a very small window but it was still a great stay regardless

Great location, very modern and super clean. Rooms were big and not claustrophobic and free toiletries. Had a safe which was great. Housekeeping were spot on and room was immaculate. Reception staff were happy, polite and accommodating especially on checkin 17/05 evening. Health club staff were both polite and accommodating and area was immaculate and super clean - hotel has just renovated the pool area. Lots of parking especially in overflow car pack literally just opposite hotel where we parked all weekend. Hotel is spacious, modern and welcoming.
Arrived late on 17/05 and decided to go to hotel for a drink to relax before bed - big mistake. Atrium area are was a mess, tables full of empty glasses and no where clean to sit. I had to clear 12 glasses onto another table so we could sit down. We counted well over 100 glasses left on vacated tables. Bar was quite busy and this reflected the bar staff moods. Small bald bar man was spectacles was extremely rude, obnoxious and pretended to ignore my requests. Asked about gin and was given a blunt answer ‘ we don’t serve that’ no other gins offered. Brought drinks and was charged £13 for a brandy and coke plus £7.50 small bottle of cider. Looked for bar prices none at the bar area, asked the same bar man again and he snorted there were menus on the tables with prices. It is a bar not a restaurant so bar prices should be visible at the bar area. Ordered house brandy after ‘borrowing’ a menu from a table next to us, it seems the very miserable and obnoxious bar man charged me the most expensive price despite asking for the house as I was mixing it with cola. Atrium bar was a complete mess never seen a bar like this in 55 years and both staff were sulky and moody, probably overwhelmed by lack of staff as clearly indicate by the complete mess the area was. We sat there for 25 mins and none of the bar staff attempted to clear or clean the tables. Due to the negative energy, complete mess and foul moods of the bar staff in particulate the small bald man we choose to drink in a local pub instead nearby over the following nights where the staff were indeed polite and happy and the bar had clean tables and clear of empty glasses as it should be. More staff are obviously needed at the Atrium bar on a weekend and a refresher course on customer training would not go amiss. For this reason unlikely to rebook again next month when we travel back to the area.

Great staff very helpful. Swimming pool area very smart… smallish pool but enough for dip.
Great sized room.
Pillows were terrible like putting head onto a marshmallow…. No support at all.

The building, the staff and the pool
In the two dinners they didn’t had the full offer of plates on the menu, in the second night was worse.
The restaurant staff seemed a little bit lost

Very comfortable beds and big rooms. Renovated swimming pool with warm water. Good breakfast. Quiet. Location good, but only if you are by car. Daily refilled drinking water bottles. The room was well prepared, equipped with baby cot which we asked during reservation process.
We were lucky because on our arrival there was first day of swimming pool reopen, but there was no info on temporary closure during reservation process.... and swimming pool was one of the most important in hotel selection. There was no clock on the swimming pool, the reservation process of swimming pool should be more modern (e.g. mail, web form, mobile app). One day after late arrival there were no bottles with drinking water in room (somebody took used one and forgot to put refiled).

The room was very very clean. The pillows and duvet were so soft and amazing.
The staff members were amazing 👏. Especially Giorgia, she was exceptionally good 👍. Very polite and helpful. Always smiling. I will definitely go back there and recommend the hotel to friends and family
The swimming pool wasn't as clean I thought it would be.

The rooms were clean , spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was superb.
Didn’t like the the fact that the football ground was in such close proximity. I am sure it wouldn’t normally be a problem but arriving on the evening of a local derby I witnessed football fans fighting and throwing items at each other within the hotel car park, I had to check on my car twice for fear of damage, luckily it survived

Ample parking spaces
Close to the motorway
Food places in the surrounding are open till late
Good location
Quite and clean rooms
The receptionist on the desk at night (on 23-09-23). Unhelpful, unwelcoming, unapologetic, provoded no proper guidance or support for amenities.
The family room (Room 238) provided to us was a box, NO windows, yes, NO windows in the room, felt like sleeping in a large cardboard box. Kids were very disappointed to have no sunshine come in the room in the morning or to have breakfast with an open view of the outside. Good air-conditioned i admit, but still felt suffocated. Left the hotel with a stuffy nose and very itchy eyes for some reason.
This one experience should not define Voco, im sure there would be some very happy stories aswell, but ours was disappointing.

Camera molto spaziosa. Gentilissimo lo staff.
I saponi e il nécessaire in bagno.

The room itself was nice and bed comfortable, but the facilities poor.
The swimming pool was full with people, who were not hotel guests I believe. Jacuzzi (which I was very much looking forward to) was not working. Sauna was dirty. When we arrived, we asked if they had slippers for us. We didn’t brought any with us expecting a hotel with swimming pool etc definitely having it (since many other hotels do have them). The bottle with hand/body lotion was empty.

Spacious, comfortable room. Very helpful & friendly staff. The hotel is pleasant and modern and in good condition.
The dinner at the Le Cafe was poor quality and over priced.
The pool is a nice little play area for kids, but not a relaxing or luxurious area for adults.

For me it was perfect the bed was big and very comfortable the room was smart and modern with a brilliant shower. The breakfast was great and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would 100% definitely stay hear the next time I'm in or near Reading.
I'm being a bit picky here lol there was Cumberland sausage on the menu for breakfast we had them on Saturday but on Sunday and Monday they where not Cumberland sausage they were just standard sausages and they didn't taste as good.

Clean, welcoming hotel with helpful polite staff. Breakfast was perfect. Only down was warm in the room in the morning and no window to open, by time we’d sussed the air con we’d woken up. Overall though a fantastic hotel.
