My friend and I have been at the hotel from the 13th to the 17th of June, 2024.
The staff is super friendly, except the one at breakfast, she should have been a General in the army.
The reception staff was trying to acommodate us always. Vittorio the bar keeper is a funny character and very friendly. Gem of the Hotel.
The room we had was small but with a beautiful view and clean. The location and the pool were stunning, especially the walk down to town is just unique and lovely.
It would be nice if the terrace could be used for breakfast or at least the windows open in the dining hall.
Breakfast was OK, except I had the worst coffee in Italy it was a Keurig type of machine.
I definitely will be back even though it is not the newest hotel and could use an update.

Ne pas avoir pu avoir le stationnemnet a proximite

Pool, breakfast, staff, view.
Room was basic.

Brilliant location with steps into the heart of Limone, incredible views from the pool and balconies. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent.
The rooms and hallways are dated and could do with modernization.

Nice hotel at the heart of Limone on the lake. We loved the pool.
It doesn’t match the pictures but we liked it

Hard to find on arrival

Location was top! We had a great view of Limone and the lake which made it all worth it in the end
The building itself is very old and hasn’t had any refractions in a long time or so it seems.

Pool is superb! The location with the panoramic view is simply perfect. Nice staff. Very clean.

Room was clean. Aircon was very good. Views over the lake and mountains were great. The pool/poolside was excellent and featured nice plants and trees, overlooking the beautiful town and mountainous lake below. Breakfast offered a good selection of savoury and sweet treats, so we never went hungry throughout the day.
I first wrote this review while incredibly dissapointed, angry, and sad over the experience of our arrival and check-in to the hotel (see below). I've since revisited the review and taken alot of the negativity out as we actually began to enjoy our stay as we accepted the imperfections and put the first night behind us. Needless to say, this is an accurate and fair reflection of our experience.
Having travelled all day in the sweltering heat, we arrived at Limone and instantly followed the hotel's directions (via booking.com) carrying heavy luggage. There was no clear route up to the hotel (which sits above the town) and no hotel signs were visible throughout the town (except for apparently every other hotel, which had clear signage). We walked back and fourth trying to figure out where to go, and the directions took us up a huge, steep hill (a nightmare with a heavy suitcase) to a main road above the town. The directions told us to walk through a narrow (and dangerous) road tunnel. We were naive enough to brave the tunnel, as we favoured the risk of death over walking all the way back down the steep hill and back through the town (without knowing if there was even another route to the hotel). Luckily we survived and upon arrival to the hotel, we were greeted by a pleasant receptionist who admitted the problems with the navigation which we had just faced (this annoyed us as the hotel obviously knows how difficult and useless the navigation is, yet does nothing to remedy it). She told us of a 'hidden' route into the hotel from the town. There is no signage around the town and around the lead-up to the hotel, apart from a few tatty a4 sheets of paper stuck to a narrow alleyway, that no one would ever know were there, unless you'd been told before. This hotel is almost completely inaccessible, unless you've already been before and know better. If you have accessibility problems, a car is a must! Too many steep stairs otherwise.

Hotel is located on the cliffs above the town with fantastic lake views. Room was clean and tidy with a small bathroom. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. There is no onsite restaurant so you are looking at a fair walk down a lot of steps to the town to eat or alternatively car or perhaps taxi down. The hotel has a small bookable car park outside and further spaces available in the multi storey car park down in the town.
More for information really, this is perhaps not a hotel for those without a car and/or personal mobility issues and if you do have a car, getting safely out of the hotel car park onto the very busy road is a bit of a challenge.

Having a beautiful pool and view of the lake was supreme. A nice buffet style breakfast was nice, too.
The rooms were seriously lacking. Completely outdated, small, no light cover over the bulbs.

loved the location and hotel itself. The steps (throughout the center) made it quit a workout :)

Amazing location and views, quiet, very comfortable bed, decent breakfast and friendly staff. Would recommend for the price!
You pay for what you get, I guess. Basic amenities, a little outdated, small shower/bathroom but makes up for it with location and views.

The location was perfect and the staff was really helpful and friendly.
Sadly, the bathroom was not as clean as we had hoped, so I think this is something that could be improved.

This is not my first time to stay at Hotel Castel and it won't be my last. I've stayed at may places on Lago di Garda and I keep coming back here. The location is perfect if you don't mind some steps....but good exercise. The views are unsurpassed and breakfast is way above normal. Alina at the desk was very helpful and everyone smiles.
Parking is not perfect, but when we are there we rarely use the car.

Beautiful views from our room/balcony. Breakfast had a big variety and we really enjoyed it every morning. The staff particularly Jessica and Alina were excellent, Jessica helped us with info of how to get around, I also had left my hat in a cafe on the way to Limone. She rang the cafe for me and arranged for me to get it. Alina offered and dropped us at the bus stop the day we were going home. Both girls particularly Jessica was great, I was very upset when I arrived as we had been at the bus stop for hrs and then I left my hat. I was crying and Jessica got me a gin and Dave me time to get my bearings back.
Nothing only all the steps but that’s Limone in general as we choose to have the view of the lake and the mountains

Well located to city center. That's it. No other plus to be mentioned.
Beds were not as advertised. Paper thin walls where you'd be woken up by neighbours returning from their night drinking session. Dirty floor in the room and dirty shower. Parking spot right by the exit with no chance to turn except driving on the road with heavy traffic. It's a wonder no accident happened.. Breakfast seemed okayish at first, however the old on the pancakes says otherwise.

This was the best 3-star (should be 3+) hotel we’ve ever stayed on our hundreds trips worldwide. Our rooms were gorgeous; the view over the lake is spectacular. I wish we could have stayed longer; maybe forever!!
Jessica was very friendly and accommodating.
Fantastic breakfast. Very comfortable bed and extremely, spotless clean all over the hotel. Highly recommend! We would definitely stay here again. On-site paid parking worth every penny.

Nice, friendly and helpful staff! Smiles, offers late checkout, speaks good English, makes you feel welcome. Location is fantastic. Nice pool area, although the pool was very cold. Very nice breakfast, for both adults and kids. The balcony of our room was great, made the whole difference to the othervise small and a bit dull room.
The room felt a bit old, needs a facelift.

excellent, helpful staff, good breakfast and clean facilities.
my wife is disabled and we couldn’t park at the hotel so I had to park 15 mins away which meant 4-6 extra journeys each day

The staff was friendly. Great breakfast!
Beautiful view and great location
The room smelled like dust.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We walk up all the time every night
Walls are not soundproof - we could hear anything from the rooms around us and from outside.
A lot of stairs in order to get to the hotel

close to the old town, great view from the balcony
Shower to small to be comfortable even for thin person

Loved the swimming pool. Loved the staff, Jessica is lovely. Wifi good, breakfast was good. Location is great if you are OK with steps.
The bedroom was small and the bathroom was not good at all. The room is in need of modernisation particularly the bathroom. The toilet seat was wobbly.

The view was breath taking from large, room balcony but even better by the pool. The pool was clean and quiet with comfortable lounges. The choice at breakfast was amazing, so much variety and alternative options. Staff were extremely kind and friendly throughout the stay. We didn't drive but plenty of parking for those who do.
A small sign from the ferry for guidance/direction, as the entrance is off the beaten track into the cliff and google maps struggled to find it.

We liked everything, especially the amazing view from our room and the wonderful pool with a view. So relaxing, so great. The breakfast was just perfect, very delicious.
The steep climb to reach the hotel was something we didn't know. It was difficult to find the entrance of the hotel. But once you know 'the secret way in and way out' is a nice experience.

Magnificent views, very comfortable bed and parking facilities were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
