Breakfast great, location wonderful and staff were friendly and helpful.
Wi FI wasn’t great, kept dropping out. Need a long mirror in the room, the mirrors to view your outfit were too high on the wall.

We really don’t have any thing else to say it was just lovely perfect in every way. The food for dinner and breakfast was very good really enjoyable. The grounds were magnificent and we thoroughly enjoyed the castle.
For us personally there was nothing.

Super friendly staff, a great location and a superb breakfast (I can recommend the avocado toast with poached egg).
The plumbing. I guess this is the price you pay for staying in a place with history.

One has such a feeling of privilege being able to wander around the wonderful grounds in the early morning and see the birds, animals, and wonderful plants. The staff are helpful, and the breakfast is really well and freshly cooked.

Lovely grounds. Garden house is in a nice location and feels private, despite the location of food outlets in the courtyard. Room is small but cosy and nicely furnished. Bathroom could be updated but is clean, functional and almost as large as the room. Access to netflix, amazon prime on the TV was an unexpected bonus. Radiator can be easily adjusted to make it a very warm or cool room. Bed is good and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant went out of the way to accommodate allergies for breakfast and dinner. Castle and grounds access from day of arrival to day of departure (even after checkout) was appreciated and evening access to grounds would be better appreciated in the summer months. Good view from the room over the grounds, excellent view from the restaurant over the castle. Good variety in shops and food outlets.
It is not cheap, but the location is very special and the views from the restaurant lovely. Great for short stays with sunny weather - not so good in the rain!

Beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful. Lovely having the grounds to ourselves.
Thought the room was a little tired and smelt damp and musty. Better these days not to have carpet. Slightly overpriced for quality of room.

Nothing is too much trouble and all the staff are very friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable and look amazing.

The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The dinner was excellent, way above our expectations. The free entry to the castle and grounds was an unexpected bonus!
The breakfast was ok, but not great. The eggs were over cooked and the toast and muffins were almost inedible. I'd recommend ordering something different than the set menu breakfast to get something fresh.

This was an exceptional experience. We upgraded to a better than the basic room. We found the quality of the room and everything in it to be superb. A fridge was a nice surprise. The grounds are fabulous. Part if the B&B deal is tickets to the castle. When you consider the value of the tickets and deduct them from the cost of the room, you realise that this is a bit if a bargain, as well and being a premium place to stay. The staff were excellent. Once the day trippers had left, we felt like we had the grounds to ourselves. We were able to take a bottle of bubbly ( that we brought with us ) and have pre dinner drinks sitting by the lake in the evening sun. Brilliant. We chose to have dinner in the Castle View Restaurant. While expensive, it was a fine dining experience and significantly added to the experience. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the high quality that we had got used to.
I was struggling to find a negative. If I was going to be picky, I would say that the restaurant waiters were a bit slow with their service and not so good at clearing plates promptly. A most minor thing that was a bit less premium.
If that's my only negative, you can appreciate how much we liked this place. In my lifetime I have only stayed in a few places to match this.

The room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was really good.
A walk in shower instead of a bath.

Room - excellent, comfortable and clean
Breakfast - very tasty, generous portions
We had dinner at the Castle View restaurant. Unfortunately it was awful! The main course was a lump of tough meat and a huge pile of mashed potato and some incredibly salty kale! And my pudding was so stodgy I couldn't even finish it. Very disappointing.

Kent room was comfortable and big enough for the two of us.
Tea and coffee facilities with biscuits.
Quality soaps.
Breakfast choices were very good.
There was little which could have been better on this visit.
The Castle and grounds should ban smoking. There were butts everywhere.

beautiful setting with lovely grounds and really enthusiastic helpful staff in every department
limited dining options later in the afternoon and evening but breakfast was excellent.

This place is absolutely lovely. Being an overnight guest gives you free access to the grounds & Castle which you can enjoy when the crowds have gone / before they arrive.
Hotel was beautifully decorated, clean & comfortable. Restaurant food was good actually and fair value for money.
I'd like to go back in the summer.

Superb views & grounds. Lovely comfortable, quiet room with amazing views of the Culpeper garden, lake & hills.
Breakfast was generous & tasty. & Served promptly.
Staff were all welcoming & looked after us well.
The shower. I didn't expect a power shower but this one was anything but! Poor water flow & temperature difficult to adjust.

We checked out the restaurant menu for lunch prior to arrival as wife is a celiac. On arrival the menu had changed and there was only one choice she could have, this was disappointing. However, lovely waitress made sure it really was gluten free, thank you. Would say it was a lot more pricy than the old menu.
Lovely new barn extension, with great views over of the castle in the snow.
Breakfast was very good. Cooked from scratch, so takes a while, but nice continental options to start with. Make sure you allow enough time, took us an hour and we nearly missed the 10am check-out! Again lovely waitress made menu changes so wife could have a good meal, thank you.
Overall, the rate we paid which included our room, parking, entry to the castle and grounds, and a brilliant cooked breakfast was very good value.
After doing the light show - which was OK, but somewhat expensive for what it was. We had an evening booking in the restaurant. Wil the Manager had taken time to refresh himself of what being a celiac was and had made sure the kitchen knew too. He was very attentive and did an amazing job, thank you so much Wil!
However, as per many of the reviews the time between courses was very, very long - at least we expected it to be so were not too disappointed. Our booking was at 7.30pm and we left at 9.45pm only having had two courses - we could not bear to wait an hour or more for a third course! Over two hours for two courses is really ridiculous!
When the food did come it was excellent, nice and hot, good quality ingredients, beautifully presented, with fantastic taste. Staff were lovely, setting was great. Just the sheer length of time was disappointing.

Wow...what a place, decided on a end of week break to discover the facilities and staff not to mention the location at Leeds to one of the best places I've visited in a long time...bravo for site and team

Fantastic views and fantastic food
For some reason they kept running out of food on the breakfast services. The wheelchairs provided are not self propelled, removing independence from the user and there's no self access to the disabled loos. You always have to wait on a member of staff to be available to operate the wheelchair lift, causing distress on the user and making them not only unable to use the facilities immediately but also making them feel like a burden to staff.members.

it was so interesting. I loved the short film about
the queens, being able to walk around the castle, walking around the
gardens. The staff were very knowledgeable and
it was obvious they enjoyed their jobs.
I could not book a dinner reservation on-line prior
to my visit and as a line traveller did not wish to
go off-site to have a meal, however when I checked
in they were able to reserve a table.
