This must be the best location if you are visiting as a touristic Guilin. The hotel overlooks a Lake, which is always bustling with tourists and very vibey. The lake is lit up and is beautiful to walk around at night and watch locals and tourists enjoying all the facilities and the music and dancing. It is right around the corner from a very busy food pedestrian mall and restaurants, where you are certain to find a meal that will suit you.
Our room was spacious and we chose the lake view - good move! Rooms and facilities are kept clean all the time.
There is a western style breakfast for those not up to the challenge in the morning and we got by on that. Nothing to rave about but also, more than adequate for our needs.
On the first night, we ate in the hotel restaurant, but you would do well to venture out into the street for some good food.
Wifi in the hotel was poor. Both in the lobby and in our rooms. Fortunately, we had our own Chinese simcard and we just turned off the hotel wifi.

The breakfast is wonderful, enjoyed it a lot.
There's a lady at front desk does not make me feel like I'm welcomed, the next day a guy in the front desk is very polite and patient.

The hotel is in a perfect location and is very easy to walk around. The staff was really helpful and so kind, they really made the stay worth it. The bathroom was large and had a really nice shower/ bath.
The only problem that I had was that there was so much cigarette smoke. Men smoking in the lobby, smoke in the hallway, and the room had a cigarette smell. It wouldn’t be a problem if it were just me but traveling with a baby made the stay a bit difficult.

the pool was great and the water show was fun
I thought the buffet breakfast was overpriced

Great view on the lake, superbe location next to major attraction and the pedestrian street. Rooms were comfy and warm. Extra bed was prepared in advance and we were also given two communicating room without having requested it. Every night a hot drink is given for each guest. Breakfast buffet is good with plenty of choice. On our day of departure they gave us a take away breakfast as we left the hotel before the opening of the restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Lijiang waterfall hotel.
Not much but if i had to say something that would be that you need to wear a swimming cap in the pool but i did not have one so i had to buy one. The toilet flush was not working properly.

Apart from the location, nothing else.
The staff were super rude, double standard and judgmental. So we booked two rooms, both SUPERIOR, but we have a discount from this app. My in laws arrived first and they mentioned my name for the booking. They gave them a standard room ( two small beds) without even looking at the details of my booking. When my in laws questioned them about the room, saying it should be two large beds, they sneered at my in laws saying “I’ve never heard of two large beds.” And then when my in laws mentioned about upgrading to a larger room with a fee, they said “oh EVERYTHING is fully booked since AGES ago”. When I arrived, they treated me nicely seeing I was a foreigner. I questioned them about the rooms, and they said you paid for RMB500++ which is the rate for a standard room. I said, check again. The staff got angry and said: Did you not read carefully? It was STANDARD, the one you said was SUPERIOR, did you not understand what’s the difference? for this amount of money you get standard room. They reassured me the rooms are fully booked. I showed them my booking details and the lady was shocked. She tried to call someone and made sure it was a mistake but then she saw it from her own system and gave up. I was pissed, of course. I said jokingly: for this you need to give me a free breakfast. She replied: out breakfasts was RMB120 and above, you wish you could have it for free. Yeap. Worst experience on booking.com EVER.
SO, for the hotel part. Honestly speaking, it’s far from a five star rated hotel. Old interior and non smoking room doesn’t look like one at all. Bad overall experience. Nope.

location and helpful staff
the glory days are behind him, very small bathroom, but most of the breakfast is very very poor, no coffee machine

It took 3 rooms to find one for us that didn't stink of smoke, for some reason the staff thought this was funny, and even said, yes, these are non-smoking rooms, but its hard to find customer who don't smoke here- grrr. The AC was non-existent, I'm glad we only booked for 1 night as it was a nightmare in the heat. We went to swim in the pool - the disinfectant foot pool was a swirl of disgusting greyish mush, we climbed around it. A kid in the pool coughed and spat in the water every few seconds and the staff didn't say a word - we got out and left after we counted 15 spits. This was after they made us buy swim hats - so they worry about a loose hair strand, but not a cup worth of spit out phlegm- disgusting!!
