Very pleasent stay, lovely staff.
5.0 / 5.0
The staff are phenomenal with hospitality and just general thoughtfulness. 50 years of travel through multiple countries and continents - if there was an award for hospitality and service they would certainly win. We cannot praise the efforts of this team enough. Our thanks to Jessie, Daisy, Fiona and all of their crew for an outstanding 3 day stay before we flew back home to Canada.
We appreciated all the extras from helping us navigate the health codes, to welcoming us at our car, the delicious cookies, drink vouchers, happy hour, arranging transport, helping with sights to see, etc. There were 4 weddings which happened during our stay at the hotel and you hardly noticed anything. No issues with noise or getting service. On the day we left we received a wake up call and an employee was already outside waiting to take our bags before we needed to call. When we arrived downstairs an unsolicited breakfast had been prepared for us to take away for the journey and the taxis were ready and waiting. It could not be more stress free. Throughout the entire stay, staff kept checking back with us to ensure that all was well and comfortable. Jessie was an absolute gem and contacted us on Wechat to announce any special times or treats at the hotel. We did not see other expats at the hotel at this time, which is a shame. The staff speak English and there is both Chinese and Western restaurant options. The location is great if you want to get away, see Mt Loashan or head to the airport. Beds are comfy, everything is well cleaned and sanitized and services are A plus. Highly recommend.
Traveling during the Coronavirus is challenging. This staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable before we began our long journey back to our home country. There is nothing negative that can be said. It was a fabulous stay!

Guestroom and bathroom are clean and modern. The staff is courteous and attentive. The restaurant on the 2nd floor is amazingly tasty and has great portions. Honestly, the food was one reason for me to return here after my first stay with them 2 years ago.
Though only a 10 min walk to the subway (Line 11), the hotel is far from downtown. One staff member asked me whether I was satisfied with their service, and if so, whether I was willing to write a positive review (while pointing at her name tag). Very awkward, but not as aggressive as an employee at Shangri-La Hotel downtown who asked me to write a positive review that mentions his name on his handheld device while he was looking on. There must be some newly instituted incentive structure in some of these hotels since my travel in Qingdao last year.
