Overall we had a great visit. The biggest issue is that there isn't a bathroom on the 2nd floor. There is a master bath on the first floor and one other small bathroom on the 2nd floor which was shared by 6 individuals. Also the 4 people sleeping in the 2 bedrooms upstairs needed to come downstairs in the middle of the night if they needed the bathroom. The only other issue we had was that there were no large pots, only small and medium which posed a problem when trying to feed 8 adults. Other than that we had a great visit. We all skied at Cannon on Saturday and the home in Mittersil couldn't be more convenient. We loved the games and the fireplace was outstanding. The bathroom issue wouldn't dissuade us from renting again next year.

Returned to Cannon Mtn for an annual ski trip. The house was perfect for the 5 of us with plenty of room, kitchen supplies and a warm fireplace.

Enjoyed the stay, the flue was frozen shut, and we contacted the management about it and didn’t get a response. Which was disappointing. This is our second time staying. On the third night the ice broke and we were able to start a fire.

Can't beat the location and the house is super comfortable for a family with young kids!

very restful and warm. nice fire place. just what a ski chalet should be.

We love Mittersill and this was the nicest home we’ve stayed in here. Definitely large enough for two families. It was extremely clean upon our arrival and we had a great week! We would definitely stay here again!

We've stayed in this property multiple times and several of the other Mittersill properties over the past 40 years. Here are the good points. Its spacious, there are lots of toys and games for children to play with, the layout is good for entertaining and the views in the Mittersill area are stunning (though not so much from this particular chalet which looks onto the parking lot for the "resort" property). Here are the bad points. The property has a rodent problem. Upon our arrival, there was rodent feces and debris throughout all of the cupboards. My guess is the property was cleaned several weeks before we arrived and the critters had their run of the place. We probably saw a mouse in the kitchen every hour or so during our week-long visit. Management (which is really a call center across the country connected with a service person in a neighboring state) put some traps outside but didn't attempt to fix the issue (didn't come inside at all). There seems to be a history given prior reviews. The chalet otherwise needs some upkeep. The furniture in the living room is 5-10 years past its useful life. The patio door doesn't lock (boards jammed into track to keep it closed). No place to put garbage (you can't leave it outside due to bears and there is no pick-up while you are there). The area is great for adults (you can hike, take walks around the Mittersill area etc.) but there are really no amenities for children. The old resort (which was decent in the 70s and early 80s from what I understand) will not permit children in the accompanying chalets to use their playground or even ride their bikes/scooters in the parking area - which is right in right in front of the chalet. If you are an adult looking a rustic and quiet getaway (and don't mind rodents), this place is perfect.

quick weekend of skiing with some friends. we love the Mittersill area. The house is very well-cleaned and in a great location. Having some dry firewood inside would be nice in the winter. Also, the key box process was a bit clunky so cleaning that up a bit would be great. Overall top notch and would stay again.

The size and set up of the house was beyond perfect!! Very clean and had EVERYTHING we needed to make it feel like home!! It was sooo close to all the best stuff; cannon mountain, echo lake, The Basin, the Flume Gorge, Clark bears, Indian Head Resort was all such a short distance my family was able to pack soo much into our vacation!! I will definitely be booking this place next year!!

Love this house!
This place is perfect for 2 families of four, with younger kids. Well located, good layout, comfy beds and even toys! Love the fireplace. The only thing I would recommend is to have more dishes and cutlery because for 8 people there is not enough. Also, Adirondack type chairs - or any chairs - on the deck would make that space usable.

Franconia chalet
Location was wonderful with easy access to area attractions. Not a lot of varied options of places to eat in the area. But the chalet as a whole was great as was knowing there was someone local to contact if needed. We were unable to operate the TV/cable and really don’t like wasting vacation time to try to figure it out. So we did not make it a priority. The shower in the master has very uneven pebble tiles that were uncomfortable under foot, especially with a few tiles missing. The upholstery and carpet were very stained, with burnt spots and there was a strong smell of smoke in the premises. We were out exploring a lot. So none were a major obstacle to our enjoyment. It was clean, nicely decorated and the bed was comfy.

Great family vacation home. Lots of space to play games , relax and enjoy the beautiful fireplace. Linens and towels high quality. Love the owners wildlife prints . Nothing fancy; walking to Mittersill.

The house if perfectly located for any activities at Canyon Mountain or in Franconia area. The house is very nice on the inside, spacious, and we loved having the two full bathrooms. I ran into two issues with the rental that would make me not want to rent a property managed by Vacasa (not sure if this is a VRBO entity).1.) The house needs a visit from an exterminator. I know the house is located in a rural wooded area, but we had mice running thrugh the family room and kitchen , leaving a trail of mouse poop and urine multiple times a day in the cupboards, pantry, sofa and chairs. 2.) When I tried to contact the management company (for 2 days) about the mice and an 4 hour + power outage. I wasn't able to reach a person or leave a message. Both the emergency and non emergency numbers were not answered and the voice mail boxes wouldn't accept any messages. Luckily the power came back on and the furnace and appliances all came back on (after resetting the GFCI outlet in the kitchen)We ended up washing all the bowls, dishes , cups, glasses, and silverware twice a day and leaving them in the dishwasher. I even won a little $$ from the others, by winning the mouse derby races that we had. If you stay there, think about bring a couple of cats that mouse with you, as you're going to need them.

Beautiful unique home
This was a lovely home base for Franconia Notch adventures. Some furnishings are older but everything is comfortable and in good condition. The kitchen has ample pots & pans, baking dishes, standing mixer, crock pot. The open living/dining area is decorated with a beautiful polished tree up to the kids' loft space. Beautiful master bath shower with a river stone floor.

Lovely autumn stay
The chalet was exactly what we hoped for on our three-generation get-away. The house was clean and spacious and has wonderful common areas--a light-filled living room and a play loft connected by the tree stood out. The four bedrooms and two baths accommodated our group of 6 beautifully. There are three steps to navigate into the house and another three to the main floor. It wasn't cold enough to warrant lighting a fire, but the fireplace was already set for us. The house is close (walking distance) to some of the lifts for Cannon Mountain, so it would be an advantageous spot for skiers.
There was more to do in and around Franconia than we expected, and we would love to return. We rode the cog railway up Mt Washington, shopped at the Garnet Hill outlet, and enjoyed restaurants in the area. There are many small breweries and towns and hiking trails to explore.

Brilliant central location
We loved the location, all the activities and the history of the area. The chalet was exactly as pictured and perfect for two families or extended family. We had our family of three plus one extra adult and one extra child. Everyone had their space. Plus we had our dog. We are particularly thankful he was welcome too! Vacasa did a great job of making sure we were welcome and even let us know we could check in early. It was a lovely touch as we were traveling from afar and did arrive a wee bit early.
