Palazzo storico molto bello
Terribile tutto.

AMazing rooms in a beautiful old palace
Restaurant was noisy with live music, and limited menu choice (but this was a common issue in the country as a whole, and in all honesty it was no worse than many places we stayed).

Second visit there with a different room (they are all very unique!) - I preferred teh first, my wife preferred this, but both great. As before, amazing hotel, well worth visiting.
Restaurant was just okay, and live music made it noisy.

The property made early breakfast as we had to leave at 7am and was delicious .
They initially charged me wrongly due to a mistake in the computer, luckily I noted the double charges. Although I had an upgraded room the traditional bed was not comfortable

The staff were more than great especially Saieda and Mr. Qais. They were cheerful and helpful. The ambiance and Arabian design were AMAZING!
Location was too hard to reach with two bags because no cars are allowed to enter the narrow alleys

The palace and room were absolutely beautiful. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was really good too. Large rooms and very well decorated.
A very magical atmosphere
Staff was not particularly friendly. Check in was slow, staff spent time on the phone rather than greeting guests. Our flight time was changed by the airline so we had to leave super early. We asked if we could have an early breakfast, which couldn’t be facilitated. We asked if they could reimburse the cost of the breakfast which we were not going to be able to enjoy (and had already paid for). They suggested they would arrange breakfast picnic bags for us, but when we left they had not made them or arranged them. Access to the spa is not included and very expensive.

Historical ambience, authentic rooms
Lack of light in the room, no toilet doors. In addition, the reception deliberately charged us twice the tourist fee, which should not the case in the hotel that claims to offer 5* service

location, no elevator, no room service

A very nicely furnished authentic boutique hotel. The restaurant of the hotel is beautiful!
Be ready to wake up at 5:20 everyday. There is a mosque few steps away and the prayer is so loud, it wakes you up for sure 🙂

The hammam was a very nice experience, the lady ( I think her name was Najah) was lovely. The staff was very polite, as well as the guy who guided us from the taxi to the Palais.
The location is superb, right in the Medina. Everything was clean.

this is an absolutely beautiful
hotel, historic monument and lovely renovation. saida, the receptionist was also absolutely wonderful
the location was quite dangerous and i didnt feel safe at all. i was mugged within an hour of arrival in the medina. although beautiful, the rooms were not very comfortable
and the wifi was terrible, which wouldnt have mattered for a
holiday, but i was there for work

one of the best hotels I ever stayed in my life as it’s truly a palace. location , room and breakfast were great.
I never had wifi in my room which means I couldn’t enjoy the comfort of my room at all times and we and other guests had to sit in reception area to communicate with WiFi. and I would prefer when I check in a hotel not to rush ask me for my credit card for payment then first 10 seconds I join the reception. specially if they charge me with wrong amount. luckily I found it out early and they return the extra amount of money immediately.

atmosphere, breakfast, service at the tea house;
The booked room category was not available so, a much smaller dark one was offered. Took more than an hour to get an adequate room. Meanwhile upfront booked tour guide via hotel didn't work. Promised but upon arrival discussions what is needed...? He was 1 1/2 hours late and was not licensed - the tour was very poor - it was a multi-purpose worker (security/handyman/furniture mover/tour guide/etc.) for 150 . Rooms are generally poorly equipped: brick-hard pillows, fridge in the middle of the room USED slippers were offered! In spite of upfront promises not one international station in TV! Bed old, installations in bathroom old. No champagne at (top) restaurant in hotel on Silvester. I was told to mix withe wine with sparkling water... Happy New Year!

Place with history, however, the furniture reflects that not always in a good matter.
Difficult to reach if you drive by yourself. Extra fees charged for moving the car to a guarded parking space during nighttime.

The location was perfect. The hotel very beautiful. If I am again in Tunis I will stay again at this hotel.
The restaurant was very expensive comparing with other restaurants. The food was good but the price too high.
Wifi did not work very well.

From the moment we arrived the whole experience was exceptional. Eman met us and her graciousness and kindness were immediately evident. The staff in restaurant ( and at breakfast) were so enthusiastic. The rooms in this beautifully restored property are the closest l have ever experienced to waking up in a Palace, sumptuous and spacious. The breakfasts were the best we experienced in our four month trip. Congratulations to a wonderful team- And thank you.

Incredibly beautiful property with amazing tile work.
Hard to find! But ok once you have their map of the medina.

Stunningly renovated building giving a really authentic Tunisian feel. Spacious, cool and quiet. The room was gorgeous, and the bed was super comfy. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely quiet location on the edge of the medina - means you're metres from the main medina action but it is lovely and peaceful inside. Taxis can't drop you off at the door but it is so simple to get there from the medina gate and requires a very short and easy to follow walk to the hotel door. If you want a modern standard international hotel this place isn't for you - but if you want an authentic Tunisian experience I highly recommend - I've already recommended to a friend who plans to book!
Hot water in the showers ran out very quickly. The weather was warm so not an issue but the hot water doesn't last for long.
Non-existent wifi - both in the rooms or reception / restaurant. We just bought a local SIM for data - which is really cheap - but it sounds like lack of wifi is an ongoing problem as I've seen other reviews mention it.

wonderful old palace with all the modern conforts. fabulous location amazing staff
6.0 / 10.0
- The place interior is really nice and appealing, it looks like you are in a museum of old palace.
- The staff were friendly (not all though).
- The rooms are unique and not identical.
- The rooms are really dirty, dusty and I and one of my colleagues developed a cough because of that.
- The roofs of my bed were surprisingly covered with dust and the carpets were dirty. also, you cannot walk without shoes as the floor is full of dirt which your feet can catch immediately!!
- The facilities of the rooms are poor (no kettle, no slippers, no coffee machine …..).
- The. bathroom was in a weird condition, some tapes were on the walls.
- The safety box was a joke (too small and easy to remove!)
- The bathroom kit was too limited.
- Some missing lights bulbs.
- The breakfast was not the best at all, the omelette was accepted but the other items are not of 5 stars hotel.
- This place is not really like a five star hotel, it’s more like an old boutique hotel which lacks much of refurbishment and improvement.
- The receptionist lied to us as they confirmed an arrangement of a VW Passat car to take us back to the airport for 80 Dinar (which is more expensive than any other arrangement we experienced before in the city) and then we were shocked with a very old small kia car with non working AC which barely occupied us!

Massive room in what I can only describe as a palace. Beautiful hotel with an amazing breakfast. We are really happy we chose this hotel for our stay.
We took a taxi to reach the hotel since they charged 25 Euro for the shuttle. If money is not an issue for you, I would highly recommend you take the shuttle because it's very hard to locate, especially when it's dark out. We did eventually find it using Maps.me ( do yourself a favour and download this app to navigate the souks and Medina) The taxi fare should be 25 Dinars from the airport to the medina but the taxis will still charge you twice that price. Welcome to Tunisia!

The entire staff are so welcoming, and everyone goes the extra mile to make sure guests have the most enjoyable stay possible. They really make every guest feel like a V.I.P.
My bed wasn’t super comfortable, but that was in part due to the fact that it was too small for a tall girl like me.
