Your vacation stay will be unforgettable in this charming cottage located in back of the elegant, enchanting, and historical bright yellow Victorian home, which was built in the 1950s. Speaking of ocean views….enjoy the benefits of having an ocean view steps away from your back yard! Being on vacation in Martha’s Vineyard in the heart of down town on a main street has its privileges! As the cottage is located on the main street, Kennebec Avenue, you can see the entire ocean; only a stone’s throw away from this lovely fully furnished cottage, which has 2 full bedrooms, 2 full private bathrooms (upstairs), and 1 powder room (located on the main level). The cottage comfortably sleeps four people; two couples or a family of four. There is one parking space available to you next to the cottage on the property. While sitting in the back yard sipping on your favorite glass of wine, enjoy a lovely meal you have prepared on the gas grill which is available to our guests. The cottage is available for year round rental with central air and central heat for your convenience.
On the first floor of the cottage, relax and enjoy the living room and dining area (which comfortably seat four), a newly renovated kitchen, and a powder room. On the second floor there are two bedrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and a full private bath. The second bedroom is furnished with 2 double beds and a full private bath. Both bedrooms are furnished with all new mattresses. This lovely cottage has all new appointments such as: a new kitchen, new bathrooms, all new furniture, an entirely furnished home, central air and central heat. The cottage is also freshly painted. Conveniently located steps away from the ferry, this striking cottage is only 100 feet away from the beach. Steps away from your back patio immerse yourself in the beautiful ocean view, which includes a park and gazebo where you can witness people getting married and feel their joy of beginning their lives as one. Listen to various genres of music in the park performed by local and national bands. Watch fireworks from the back yard of the cottage. Witness the uplifting excitement of experiencing people flying kites or indulge in this activity for your own pleasure. Directly across the street from the cottage is the grocery store. For breakfast, after a fun day at the beach, touring, and shopping, or for late night snacking, indulge and treat yourself to some hot, fresh, and sweet donuts that are a hit with the locals. Back Door Donuts is open from 7 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. You’re sure to remember this treat!

We had a great time! Location is perfect! Home is nicely appointed. For planning purposes there isn’t a toaster and the washing machine was just ok.

We stayed at this place during the fourth of July week. The property is very clean with superior equipments. The location is the best in oak bluffs IMO, very vibrant and everything is within 5 minutes walking distance. The owner is very responsive.
We enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back!

What we loved most about this cottage was the location. We could walk to everything in the center of town including the beach! The cottage was clean, well decorated, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, dishes and utensils. There are no spices. There was plenty of toilet paper, but we did bring our own just in case. There is also a grocery store across the street. The host was very responsive.
A couple of clarifying notes that may be important considerations for others: (1) As noted in the listing, linens are not provided except for coverlets. The towels from the recommended vendor were a bit thin and standard size (no bath sheets); (2) The location of the commodes in the powder room and the primary bedroom are a tight squeeze. I’m 5’6”. This would not be comfortable for folks with long legs; (3) The outdoor patio space is a shared space. Conversations of guests from the main house using the larger outdoor dining set can be heard in the cottage; and (4) There is no smart tv, streaming device or free on-demand programming available.

This cottage was everything we wanted and needed and more. Great location in the midst of Oak Bluffs. Everything is in walking distance. Property is well maintained and is exactly as described. I hope to stay here again!

The house is clean and well decorated. The location is a bit hectic as it is right in town on a busy street. It was conveniently omitted that the back patio is shared with another house.......no privacy. This could pose a real problem for some as there is also no front porch.

Great location and very charming cottage!
This cottage/house was just perfect! The location is great for all ages to get in and around downtown oak bluffs, to ferry, and beach. Do not need a car, everything is within walking distance. There is a shuttle close by to explore the island if you decide not to have a car. The parking space is tight if you have a bigger vehicle but will fit. Very comfortable accommodations, nice comfy beds, well equipped kitchen with new outdoor grill on nice patio. Good for all ages and would definitely recommend to small group or family! The owner was easy to connect with and we are very happy with the whole experience!

Not 100 feet from the beach! More like 1000 feet!
This place was clean when we arrived. Although you should be warned they do not provide a lot of essentials: Soaps, shampoo, towels, sheets. (you will also need to purchase toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex tissues, because after the first row that they provide you’re on your own. This includes the ONE kitchen trash bag as well). Important to note as well once you run out of toilet paper, which they only provide two rolls, you must go to the store and buy your own. You must also purchase trash bags once you empty the garbage. I found this to be most obsurd and a bit frustrating. Also you must provide your own paper towels as well once you run out of the ONE they provide. Also please note if you are taller than 5 feet you will need to pee sideways because there is no leg room in the queen bedroom and The guest bathroom downstairs.. The bedroom with the 2 double beds has no mirror to put makeup on. There is a mirror above the toilet but does not lend itself to being useful. Lighting in bathroom is very bad. Bring your own make up mirror as well. In saying all this after you have packed up sheets pillowcases towels face towels hand towels toilet paper bathroom mirror you will need to bring at least three suitcases to fit everything that you need in order to be able to be comfortable in this home. Another important note to consider is when you arrive there is a lockbox that is behind the house. It is not eye-level. Literally you have to kneel down to get to the lock box to be able to see the numbers. And if it’s night time best to go ahead and pack a flashlight so that you can see the numbers in order to get the key to get inside. We are all over the age of 65 with an 81 year old with us as well. It was very difficult to actually have to kneel down press the buttons needed in order to open the lock box to get the key. This house only provides ONE key. So when someone left to go shopping, etc. we would have to put the one key back in the lock box so the others could come back and forth as needed. I guess they could not afford to make another copy of the key to make it a little more convenient for their guests. It’s kind of like the toilet paper, trash bags, etc. I think you get the jest of where I’m going with this. I mean Be a little friendlier to your guests. I don’t think it’s asking much to provide just a little more of the essentials. And 2 keys instead of just one.

Nice place - Great location
Very nice house! Kitchen was well stocked with all needed utensils, things for grilling, pots and pans. Couldn’t have ask for a better location, 30 second walk to Backdoor Donuts! Jolanta was very easy to reach and communicate with!

Great location in Oak Bluffs
Wonderful little cottage. Perfect size for my small family. It was easy to communicate with the property owner. It was great to park the car in the driveway and just walk around Oak Bluffs and enjoy the sites. It took less than a minute to walk to the downtown area with plenty of shops, stores, and restaurants. A minute or 2 to walk to Ocean Park. The ferry and beach was a 7 minute walk. And a bonus to those that love donuts, Back Door Donuts was a 30 second walk for warm fresh donuts after 7pm.
I would recommend and stay here again.

The location is great! Right in the center of OB.

Nicely decorated and very clean
Great little cottage to stay if you want to be right in the hustle and bustle of downtown OB. A bit noisy with people and traffic (not the owner’s fault) so if you’re a light sleeper I would not recommend. I also missed a nice porch to relax on but the convenience of walking to and fro was great.

Fall weekend visit
a great location, an easy walk from the ferry and not too noisy, considering where it is. very clean, good setup, good responsiveness from owner. we are a family with two teenage boys and would choose it again. it is cozy, but for sleeping, eating and getting out to enjoy MV, it is perfect.

Fantastic location and home base spot
We loved the location and how close it was to the action. This is especially true because COVID limited the number of restaurants open, and the number of "public" bathrooms open. It was nice to pop back to the house for anything you needed and then head out again.
Speaking of, the downstairs bathroom and the bathroom in the room with the Queen bed were insanely small. If you're trying to sit down on the toilet, you can barely fit. It's not accurately represented in the photos, but it's super small.
The backyard area was really nice, and a good wind-down spot after the night was over. It's shared with another house, so you can expect company out there. The other family staying there was French and didn't speak much English, so we didn't feel like it was too intrusive.
Regardless, we'd definitely come back to stay there again. We had a great time!

LOVELY COTTAGE - PERFECT LOCATION
What a lovely cottage and what a great family location, walkable to all, the ferry, the shops, the restaurants and the calm beach. Bike rentals and kayak rentals were a hit. An easy bike ride anywhere on the island. So much action right around the corner, but it was quiet and comfortable (and incredibly, thoughtfully clean) at "home" - thank you for this wonderful time, it was great.

Fantastic MV home!
Fantastic Stay! Great property, beautifully decorated, super clean and close to everything in OB. Jolanta was reallly communicative and helpful with all our questions. The beds are the best we’ve slept in! The house is comfortable for a family of 4 or 2 couples, kitchen fully equipped and the outside area is a great spot for your morning coffee or a late night cocktail (and the location is super close to those delicious Back Door Donuts). We’ll definitely be back!

Very clean. Very cozy. Excellent customer service!
It is really a lovely place. Every room was spotless. Cleaning supplies, including alcohol spray and wipes were strategically placed in the kitchen, and all the ballrooms. She even provided masks—just in case you forgot yours.
The two bedroom was more than enough space. And, my son loved having Disney+. Also nice: hooks were in the bathrooms, and hangers and bins in the closest for storing clothing—no need to live out of your suitcase. We loved being close to the tennis courts, food, and the beach; and we didn’t hear any noise at night. (The area was quiet at night anyway—no cars or people waking around.) The supermarket was steps away, and the kitchen was well stocked. I was thankful to have the AC at night because I cannot sleep when I’m hot.
We had some trouble getting the grill to light (in part because we have a charcoal at home), Jolanta was very responsive, and had someone come to check on it right away.
Also, she was very nice when I texted her for instructions on arrival. I didn’t see the initial email sent (I didn’t realize that the HomeAway brand is...gone), and I had been up since 2 in the morning. I was brain dead, so it was nice of her to re-text and “talk me through it.”
This was a last minute find. We were very happy with it. We’ll rent again.

Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay, the location was fantastic and you could walk to most restaurants, beaches etc. Jolanta was a wonderful host, very attentive. I have to really applaud her efforts for keeping such a clean property. We were nervous coming with COVID-19, but upon walking in you could smell how sanitized it was, there were even cleaning products, hand sanitizer and masks provided. We definetly would stay again!

Clean, Convenient, and Comfortable
Close to everything, easy walking distance to the beach, the shops, restaurants, grocery store, the ferry, and donuts. Mostly very quiet even though it's in the heart of everything. Jolanta was very responsive and helpful. The parking is a little harrowing in a mini van (very narrow space), but there is parking (!) and we got used to it. The back yard space was shared with the property behind it, so that felt a little weird, but overall an excellent, well-stocked, and cozy little place.

Great Location in a Fun Town
I was really impressed by all aspects of this property. Jolanta was a very accommodating host checking on all of our needs before and during the stay. The house is laid out very well with updated bathrooms and kitchen. It also has a parking spot which if you know Oaks Bluff, is a great bonus! The house was sparkly clean.i recommend staying in Oaks Bluff the house is a stones throw from the Ferry, on a strip of really cool older classy ocean town Victorians and cottage style homes. The town is bustling with lots to do and beaches to visit. Can’t wait to go back!!

Great choice, won't be disappointed!
Fantastic location!! Super charming house that we loved relaxing in. Kitchen is well stocked and we made use of the grill and patio. Beds were super comfy. The bathroom in the queen bed room is pretty small, so if you're a big/tall person, you might want to use the other bath. Jolanta was responsive and checked on us. As other's have said, providing your own linens is the only downside to this rental. The company on the island was great with delivery, but they definitely weren't high quality linens. If you can bring your own, you should. We were coming from Cali so that wasn't an option for us.

Excellent apartment in center of Oak Bluffs
What a wonderful find! We've rented a lot of places in Martha's Vineyard and this a favorite. As a family of four we're always looking for 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Here we got a modern 2 bedroom/ 2.5 baths with tons of natural light, plus a lovely living room and kitchen and a washer/dryer. And the property has air conditioning! (This is rare on the Vineyard.)
The property was thoughtfully stocked (kitchen utensils, plates, toilet paper, etc.) And you can't beat it for convenience to town, beach, and the ferry. This is important if you don't have a car during your visit. The only downside is there is no outside space. But you can walk a few blocks to Ocean Park and play outdoors.
Be advised that it faces a busy road but the windows are thick so you can't hear street noise. I would definitely be back with my family but I could see two couples having a getaway weekend here, or a girls' or guys' weekend with 4 people.
The host checked in to make sure everything was ok & was very responsive overall. Not a single issue. Very happy with our stay!

Great location and accommodations
Wonderful property located in the heart of Oak Bluff. Walk to the beach, restaurants and shops. Perfect for a family of 4. I initially was concerned that noise could be an issue being that close to the the downtown, but no issues at all. House was clean and well stocked. Absolutely no complaints. Can’t wait to go back.

July 2019
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay in Oak Bluffs! This was our first trip to Martha’s Vineyard and it left us wanting to come back. I will tell you initially when we checked in at 6pm on a Monday evening it seemed kind of noisy, but that settled down and we ended up loving the proximity to the grocery store (across the street), liquor store (across the street), numerous restaurants, ice cream shops and shopping all within a short walk. Harbor and beach are also a short walk.
The owner was always quick to get back in touch and provided recommendations for us 1st timers.
A few very minor recommendations to the owner...
I did cook a few meals in house. Items needed
Colander
Mixing bowls
Hooks in the bathrooms and closets would be helpful for wet bath towels and bathing suits.
Would be fun to have two chairs and a cocktail table out front to enjoy the activity and passers by.
Overall 5 star

Immaculate Cottage in Perfect Location with One Friendly Suggestion
We just returned from our stay and thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful little cottage. Lots of AC as it can get hot on MI in July. I would definitely recommend for a family of 4 or two couples. Grocery store with a great little deli for beach sandwiches was just across the street and super convenient. Back Door Doughnuts just around the corner for morning coffee and, of course, doughnuts. Town center and movie theater just a couple of minutes down the street. A block from Circuit Ave. After renting a Jeep for a day and circling the island a couple of times, we realized Oak Bluffs was the perfect spot for us. The cottage was so close to the ferry, we left our car on the mainland. The only teeny-tiny constructive complaint I would have is they do not provide sheets, pillow cases, bath towels, hand towels, or washcloths. There is a service on the island where you can rent them, but it was going to cost us over $120. We opted to bring our own, in addition to our 4 large beach towels, which meant we had to lug them onto the ferry, off the ferry, and up the street to the cottage since we did not bring a car and back upon our departure. More baggage, less suitcase room for other things. Perhaps they could simply build the price of this into the rental fee and have the service/housekeeping coordinate so it truly becomes a "turnkey" rental. Nonetheless, we would definitely stay here again but perhaps rent the sheets/towels the next time around.

Updated Gem in the Heart of Oak Bluffs
Overall our stay was fantastic & would definitely recommend for 4 (or even 5) people!
Property: Completely updated top to bottom with new single zone AC units in all rooms, washer/dryer, new TV, functioning WiFi, Weber BBQ, patio set & full kitchen with all the items you will need. Cozy feel but we had 2 adults, 2 young teenagers + grandma and we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Bedroom/sleeping set up worked great for our family with the 2 BRs & pull out couch. Only minor point is that the dresser space is not in excess so we had to get a bit creative. It does have plenty of closet space and they provide hangers.
Location: Fantastic in the heart of it all. Walk through to Ocean Park & Inkwell beach. Across the street from Reliable Market & Back Door Donuts, Circuit Ave & all Oak Bluffs has to offer. It is a busy area, which can get some noise, but the cottage does a nice job of keeping the noise out, particularly the bedrooms. Also easy walking distance from Tabernacle/camp grounds/dockside.
The owner was quick to respond and attend to all of our needs. We are planning on coming back in 2019.
If you are not sharing a house with multiple large families but want the Ocean Park location & vibe... this place is for you!
