The property was clean, had everything I needed and the coffee was a nice touch!
I had no issue with the property.

the location was a safe area and walking distance to shops nearby
the owners are really friendly nice people. bunny drove me to a shop on my first day to get some essentials which was really appreciated
unfortunately I do not think this is a property suitable for a long trip but even for a short trip there are a number of issues I encountered during my stay.
firstly, at first look it looks clean but when you look closer it was pretty dirty in places. I actually had to go and buy a pair of flip flops to go about the apartment in because the floors were making my feet black. the toilet was really dirty when I first arrived too which I had to clean myself and the shower curtain has mould water marks at the bottom and is in desperate need of replacing. I have a pretty bad fear of spiders and so I’m very aware of them and I noticed a whole load of cobwebs and dust around areas on my first arrival and some spiders which the owner kindly came down to move and do a full check around with a duster which highlighted some pretty bad dust spots in the apartment including under the bed which unveiled a lot of dust and dirty stuff socks etc previous guests had left.
secondly, the apartment is built into an ex garage of the house and so it is quite a dark place with limited natural light. the bedroom and bathroom are right at the back and the lack of air flow in here was a serious problem for my stay. the air was not fresh at all and the very tiny air con unit in the bedroom doesn’t do a lot. there was mould fluff spots on the wall also in the bedroom in various places. see attached photos.
there is a drainage issue in the apartment too - the kitchen sink often most days would have a raw sewage smell which permeated through the apartment which given the lack of air flow was extremely hard to be around. I attempted to use the fans to do something but it did not.
I was staying for a stay of 12 nights. half way through my stay I messaged the owners to ask if they could wash the towels and bathroom mats to freshen them up for me. they replied and said there were spare towels in a drawer so I asked if they could still do the mats for me since there were no spares.

I would recommend this place to stay during your trip to LA.
It's a spacious apartment and the commodities would make you feel at home.
If you don't have a car, there is a bus stop close.
Also, the owners are very nice.

It was in a great location for where I needed to be.
Being a kind of basement suite there wasn’t a lot of natural light during the day. But I was only there minimally during the day time anyway, so it didn’t bother me that much.

Ok, where do I start, as I had a lot of fantastic experiences here on VacaStay? Let's start with the location. The property is strategically located, meaning I could reasonably commute to all my points of interest. I had a list of places I wanted to visit, which was only possible because of the property's accessibility - all my points of interest were a short drive away. Aside from accessibility, the property sits in a friendly and tranquil neighbourhood. There is this genuine homely feeling of good neighbourliness every time I pop out for a stroll.
Now let's go indoors. The look and feel of this cosy apartment are fantastic. I felt very much at home throughout my stay. As a seasoned traveller, I strive to prioritise the home away from home feeling when I book accommodation. In most cases, it's always hit-and-miss, but VacaStay didn't disappoint. The hosts have added a personal touch to the aesthetics of this property, making it very relaxing and comfortable. The property is tastefully furnished and squeaky clean, well-stuck with basic amenities. I love the deco and ergonomics of this property. Spending time here felt like home with a touch of class.
They say people make a place, and this expression is a true definition of my hosts. Kaylene and Bunny wowed my experience and made my stay very pleasant. From day one, they greeted me with genuine hospitality and love. Bunny and I sure had a great time. A visit to the local mall, a drive around the local neighbourhood, and a bargaining tip on the 99 store downtown were excellent. Kaylene's kindness and generosity were second to none. I will always be eternally grateful for the pair hosting me at the Americana - it was a fabulous evening.
Overall, I had a fantastic time here and enjoyed my stay. I strongly recommend this property to anyone looking for a prime location in LA and a hospitable and friendly host.
Nothing to dislike about this place.

Comfortable, air conditioned unit with everything you need in it, including a full kitchen! Kaylene and Bunny were gracious hosts, friendly, and accommodating. Having the small patio was also really nice to sit outside and eat breakfast every so often. Amazing location with a lot of really convenient food/drink around.
A few notes:
- It says it in the listing, but there is absolutely no smoking. The area this booking is in is in a high risk of fire zone, and, as everyone knows, it never rains. So don't do it unless you want to be responsible for burning down east LA.
- This unit is underneath the main house. It has its own entrance, and Kaylene and Bunny will absolutely respect your privacy the entire time unless you ask them for something. However, since it's under the house, if you're sensitive to sound, you might hearing people walk around above you. It's just part of life.
- It's street parking, so get your parallel parking hat on.
I had a lovely stay here, and the bed is so so comfortable. Thank you, for a lovely stay in LA!!
Honestly, I didn't have any issues.

great location. safe neighborhood. easy check in and instructions
first day of my stay I was confronted by one of the owners with a loud banging at the door about smoking cigarettes in the unit, even though It was clear that I wasn’t and the booking states that this is a none smoking unit, I understand that people make mistakes, considering she was very admit about “forgetting to tell me” when the booking was confirmed. then the second day the other owner walked into the unit while I was sleeping in the early afternoon because “he thought I needed more paper towels” i had told the lady the day before I was traveling by myself for my birthday weekend so I felt VERY UNCOMFORTABLE knowing that this man didn’t even have the decency to acknowledge that and will access to this unit whenever they feel like it. i felt like this was something they could of called me for or messaged me since they were pretty good at replying via text. on top of that there was a little PEST situation in the unit. I’m sure this is because the building is older and it was a very tight space, I am not a fan of bugs whether it’s ants or spiders and they had BOTH. i should of known there was going to be a little pest problem when I saw insect killing spray in the kitchen(I knew I should of took a few pictures but had such a busy weekend planned I just needed to hurry and get to my day). i did not stay in the unit the last night of my booking because of how uncomfortable I was with the whole experience. luckily I have a few friends in the city that made my travels there more reassuring but I probably won’t be booking at this location again

Even if it was a shared room I had enough privacy.
I didn’t like the fact that the owner’s office was on the same hallway as my room.

The hosts are wonderful people, always ready to help or provide advice. The room has its private bathroom and even the small kitchenette (coffee machine, microwave, fridge, plates, cups, etc). The street is supercalm and safe, there is always a space to park a car.
Great experience overall, I definitely advise this property to other travellers!

Good room and bathroom, totally worth the money because of the space and privacy. Located in a good neighborhood with stores nearby.
Kind of noisy if you like to sleep with the window open.

, great location, comfortable room.
When I was booking, it didn't clearly specify that the offer was a house share.

The host Kaylene was unbelievably nice! She also helped me when I forgot my car key in the trunk, called her AAA insurance to open my car and waited with me the whole night until the roadside assistance finally arrived. Thank you so much for your help!!!
Perfect stay if you wanna go to a Dodgers game. It’s only a 10-15 minute drive away if you don’t get into traffic.

We absolutely loved everything about this place!!!! The hosts were absolutely amazing! From the time we walked in the door to the time we departed, we felt so Welcomed! The best word to describe this place for us is “Home” Literally, we felt like we were home away from home! Coming home to peace and comfort is a plus! Thank you for making our experience the Greatest! We will definitely be back to Vaca with you! If you are ever in LA and want to have a great comfortable staying experience, this is definitely the place for you!

Friendly hosts, saved a parking place for us and helped to navigate to points of interest in the city. The location is very good: calm neighbourhood and not far away from restaurants and shops. Also the bed was really comfortable.
