This cabin fit our needs perfectly. It was shady and we didn't even need to turn on the AC. The host was friendly, responsive and welcoming. We would love to go back and try out PMC in the winter!

Cabin Sweet Cabin was the perfect size for my husband and me. The information about the cabin and the surrounding area was readily available. We had a wonderful relaxing mini vac. Thx

This is a perfect getaway. It's close enough to Los Angeles, but far enough that you feel like you are not in the city. The house is a cozy place that fit my family of 4 perfectly. We ending up being able to have lots of family time from playing darts in the back, to the provided Pictionary game, to just sitting and reading and enjoying nature.
If you are looking for a get away. Get away to this cabin.

We had such a great time, this is our favorite place to visit.. you need to star gaze we saw some amazing shooting stars and our dog had a great time here too! Communication was so great as well, I have AT&T which does not work out there so she was kind enough to send over the necessary info before I lost my service. We were able to cook dinners at the house pretty easily so we didn’t need to eat out every night which was great. The bed is very comfortable too so that helped us a lot since we stayed for a handful of nights. I would totally recommend this home to stay if you’re ever in the area.

Great for a much needed couples getaway for 3 nights. Kitchen had everything we needed for meals. Bed upstairs was very comfortable. Very quiet neighborhood. Great view of the stars at night on front deck & also from bedroom. The water pressure is pretty low in the bathroom especially the hot & could use some new bath towels (both minor issues). The owner was very responsive & great to communicate with before & after our stay. There are also lots of games, puzzles & DVDs for entertainment. Overall we really enjoyed our cabin time!

Beautiful! The stairs are a little tricky, but everything was clean and the cabin is well maintained. It can get a little hot in summer, but that is to be expected.

Excellent place to get away from the city hustle
Charming cabin in a peaceful canyon in the mountains. Abundant wildlife, including chipmunks, rabbits, blue jays and majestic bears. Owner was quick to respond, kind and warm. When she tells you to check out the stars at night, don't miss that opportunity! Only word of advice: if you're going to bake, adjust for altitude.

What a great new location to discover. reminded me of Big Bear without the crowds and bustle. We will be returning in the winter!

We used to own a cabin in Pine Mountain, and though we had to let it go our family continues to come back to the community for the fresh mountain air and simply to get away from the city for a bit. Jolie's cabin was perfect for us. The kitchen is very well equipped for home cooking, the upstairs bedroom is perfect for nighttime star (and moon!) gazing, and the small fenced in area out the kitchen (back) door was perfect for our little pups. Jolie was great in terms of information sharing and overall being in touch. We definitely want to come back!

Great getaway location.
Nice location in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is well laid out and well equipped. My wife’s sinuses are sensitive to AC, but I was able to keep the cabin temperate by using fans to bring in the cool air in the evening and early morning, then closing all windows, blinds, etc. before the sun got hot. Be aware that there is a flight of stairs to enter the front door and another flight of stairs to access the bathroom and upstairs bedroom (only a concern for those with mobility challenges). We would stay here again.

Great location.
This place is cozy and nice! It was a great value for the money!
A couple items to know before you go: the dishwasher doesn’t work, the water pressure for the shower is lacking, and the WiFi isn’t strong enough to work from the cabin.

Cute cabin
The cabin is very cute and feels private, even though in a neighborhood. Kitchen had lots of cooking supplies, and both outdoor and indoor relaxing spaces were very comfortable. The small desk was also very convenient as I was working remotely. The local PMC restaurants' opening hours seemed to be reduced (a lot?) by Covid, which is understandable. So make sure to stop and get groceries where Jolie recommends before you get into town! We really enjoyed our stay.

Nightmare
The a/c didn’t work in downstairs living area
Only one bedroom in the attic the a/c worked
I sweated to death the first night
The owner it is hard to get
Approximately 2 hours for call back
WIFI didn’t work
Last morning electricity turned off because of wire work and owner didn’t know about
The property needs some in the community who can come fix and show you how everything works
The outside barbecue is really Owen that doesn’t get very hot
Owner says to me well other guest haven’t complained about downstairs a/c
Well it just got hot
Owner very poor
Worst experience ever

the cabin in the woods... a wonderful little getaway
Pine Mountain is secluded and secure. there are beautiful views, it's extremely quiet, and there's very little traffic outside the cabin (mostly golf carts and an occasional car)... you'll likely sleep upstairs, which is a bit cramped, and there aren't as many proper beds as you might expect, but the kitchen design and the interior woodwork are outstanding. reliable Internet and TV are also provided via satellite, in case you have to work while you're at the cabin... there are trails and hiking opportunities galore, plus a creek and a golf course, but be prepared: very little is open in the Village Center on Mondays or Tuesdays (meaning that there's just one Mexican restaurant, if you want to eat), so bring your own food if you go early in the week - unless you're okay with paying a pretty steep markup at the General Store (Bundaberg Root Beer, for example, was at least 25% more expensive than normal!). the Village Bakery is also closed because of COVID but there's a place called Basecamp which is a nice little cafe that has very good coffee cake... you'll get zero cell phone service at Pine Mountain by the way, so bring a physical map in case you get lost... but do take the trip! it's refreshing, quiet, peaceful and gorgeous in every direction! a great value!

Adorable cabin for 2
This is an adorable little cabin with all the comforts of a big home.
It has empty lots on either side so you feal more secluded than other cabins.

Lovely Cabin for a Getaway
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here tremendously! Jolie was great at communicating and we had no trouble finding the place or knowing how to check in/out. The cabin is lovely and has beautiful views. Everything was clean and tidy, and the kitchen is well-stocked. I highly recommend staying here! :)

Great location
The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We particularly appreciated having a fenced in area for our dogs. The location was close to the village for last minute purchases and snow play.
One word of caution is that we did not see any diesel fuel available at the village when we departed. Luckily we had enough to get to the freeway where there were diesel fuel options.

Cabin getaway
This property was exactly as listed and exactly what we were looking for. A relatively short drive from San Diego gave us a completely different change of scenery and it was absolutely beautiful. The cabin has everything you would need, lots of board games and the wood stove was amaaaazing. Local general store nearby but we brought everything we would need with us. We didn’t leave the cabin except to explore some nearby trails which were a great experience (check the guest handbook for recommendations). Directions were very clear and Jolie was incredibly helpful and quick to respond. We brought our dog with us and he was beside himself when it started to snow. Truly a trip to remember, we can’t wait to come back! Thanks Jolie & fam!!

A lovely short winter break
We loved the cabin and had a relaxing break over New Year. Everything easy and trouble free.

Perfect little getaway cabin
It covered everything we needed. The property manager was always just a text away with any question - even on Christmas day. We had record amounts of snow - so when she says bring chains in case of snow - DO IT. My husband had to hike the 1.3 miles down the mountain to the general store to buy some overpriced ones, but that's the price we paid for not being prepared. The backyard was fully fenced and gave our pups a little space of their own when they weren't cuddled in front of the fire. Would stay here again!!

Cabin Sweet Cabin
Need to paint the cabin number or put something eye catching beside the cabin number out by the street so that it is easier to see. Very, very hard to see even with good directions to cabin. At night it is impossible to see.
Need to remove washer and dryer and dishwasher from under amenities on the listings since the cabin has neithe r (there is a dishwasher but it does not work). The owner had told us in advance through email about the dishwasher but not the washer/dryer. There is a washer/dryer at the club but you have to pay to use.
There is no cell coverage at cabin. A few people may have a phone that will get cell coverage but mine would not. From reading the reviews most don't. This was not a big deal because usually when I am in the mountains anywhere, there is no cell coverage. I was prepared for this. WiFi did not work and from reading reviews this is a chronic condition at the cabin. Cell phone coverage was not real important to me while at the cabin because I could get it once I got off mountain. Not having WiFi was a big deal to me. Owner tried to get it working while we were there but was not successful. I think WiFi should be removed from the amenities also! Again, from the reviews it looks like WiFi is down a lot here.

Great off the grid retreat
As advertised, great off the grid retreat with plenty of elbow room around the cabin. Nice views from decks and away from the main road and village. The owner provided accurate and detailed information. Enjoyed this cabin with our dog, she was very happy to be with us!

Off the grid
We had a lovely time in Pine Mountain Club and Jolie was a very proactive and responsive communicator before and during our stay. We lucked out with clear skies and had an amazing view of the night sky right from the deck of the cabin. There were plenty of towels, pillows, blankets, dishes, and places to sit and enjoy the setting, indoors and outdoors.
The guest book provided a ton of useful information about the area. If you go for a hike, be sure to familiarize yourself with what Poison Oak looks like beforehand, as it grows really well in the Los Padres National Forest. Keep your distance from it, and you'll have a gorgeous hike. Enjoy!
The Club House for PMC has a nice pool (thank you for the guest passes!), and Pine Mountain Village Center has a variety of shops including a general store, which was super convenient.
The one issue we had was with the internet connectivity, and our cell phones did not receive signal anywhere near PMC (be warned if you have AT&T), and the cabin did not have a phone, so the only way to get in touch with Jolie (or anyone else) was by driving to the clubhouse and using the wifi, making troubleshooting the issue a complicated process. We really appreciated that Jolie was always willing to hop on the phone with the service provider to try to get things sorted, but it ultimately seemed like it might be an issue with the equipment rather than the connection.
If you don't mind being off the grid, this is a nice place to stay. Have a great time! But if you need a more reliable communication setup, maybe look for a place closer to the PMC clubhouse, one with a landline, or somewhere you'll know you'll have cell reception.
