Outstanding rural area where we didn’t see another person during our stay-exactly what we wanted. We brought all of our food and fishing gear. We had our three year old grandson with us and he loved watching the lizards on the SE side of the house! Great dock for fishing. We grilled on the patio and enjoyed snores there too. Several areas to gather inside to eat and play games in the evening. My boys definitely want to return!

This was our second time staying at the lodge. It is always so comfortable and relaxing. The accommodations are excellent. We love being able to leave non perishables there knowing someone else can benefit from them. We even left items that they sent back to us. The scenery is amazing from deer, ducks and geese to the cows around. We love going hiking around the place. It really is a great family vacation.

Great Labor Day vacation with 3 generations. We caught tons of Fish, loved the seclusion and had an excellent dinner in town at Hiltop. BRING your own bait/tackle! There was very little found in town.
Before we left the grown up kids were asking if we could come back because they loved the place so much!
Thank you!

This was our 2nd time staying at this house, which I think speaks for itself. Just so people know what to expect, here are some pros and cons.
Cons: Food from past renters needs to be discarded. If feels terrible to waste food, but without knowing how past renters treated those foods, it makes them hard to be used. Wasps are still around, but that is typical for a country house. Our days were rainy, so they weren't out much. If you are sensitive to water taste, bring water jugs. Tap water is drinkable, but we think it's reverse osmosis water which does give it a taste.
Pros: Fishing, swimming, water equipment, and everything else on the water was amazing. The house was well stocked. We slept great, most people said their beds were medium to medium/firm. Very starry skies. Plenty of space.
Like I said, it was our 2nd time here and we would come back a 3rd. It's a wonderful house away from busy life and you can just relax on the water or in the house. We sat on the porch and just listened to it rain on the water. Thank you for renting out such a great property!

Love this Lodge!
This is the second year in a row that we have been to the Lakefront Cedar Vale Lodge. It was a Christmas gift to my grandson and he could hardly wait to get there. Unfortunately our 5 day stay turned out to be a 2 day stay due to a family emergency, but we are making plans to go back. My grandson has been willing to give up another adventure to hopefully get back out there sometime this year. We love it! It's an awesome place to spent time with family and get away from all the hub bub.

Everything about this property was amazing- the views, the cabin, and the lake. We fished, hiked and played. It was well equipped inside and out. It was a perfect place to get away and spend some quality time with the family!

Amount people in our group - we found Verizon phone access is challenging. While T-Mobile phone access was excellent.
Beautiful property, beautiful home and great opportunity to unplug with loved ones.

Awesome
Awesome doesn't even come close to this breath taking "gem" way out from the busyness of the world. The peace and quiet was undescribable. Nature all around us. Fun filled moments of swimming, fishing, paddle boating and kayaking and sitting under the stars at night. We will definitely be booking this lodge again.

Happy Return Guests
This was our second time staying at this property. The fish and weather didn't cooperate as well as the first time, but we still had a wonderful time. We would highly recommend The Lodge at Arrowhead to anyone who enjoys fun, relaxing get-aways and the great outdoors!

Gorgeous!!
Excellent getaway!
The seclusion is it's majesty!
The listing needs to be amended though. There is no wifi. At best you can hotspot your phone but it's sketchy since the location is very remote.

Took my nephews and sons duck hunting and we stayed here. Great Lodge with a beautiful lake. Very private, very quiet location. Made for a relaxing stay.

Our family has visited this lodge before and to say we love it is an understatement! The home is equipped with everything a family needs - the beds are comfortable and there is plenty of space. The private lake is immaculate - you truly have it all to yourself. The fishing is awesome! We’ve caught several 3-5 pound large mouth bass off the dock and lots of crappie which fry up perfectly. Don’t worry we threw the big bass back for the next group to catch. Our family also enjoyed the paddle boat, paddle board and kayak provided. You can spend all day outside. Just a little piece of heaven.

An amazing house away from it all
In a time of Covid, you couldn't ask for a better house. You are truly away from everyone and everything to enjoying all this house has to offer.
Pros:
- Lots of wildlife and spectacular views
- The lake was the best. Clear water, plenty of fish, paddle boat, canoe, kayak.
- House was clean and very well stocked. So much room to spread out.
- Beds were super comfy. Even the ones people said felt hard said they slept great.
Cons:
- The paddle boat was a little flooded in the bottom when we got there. We managed to pull it out of the water to drain, but was busy with other things to get back to it. Before we left we put it back in the water and it was floating better. I didn't tell the owner because it wasn't a big deal for us.
- Bees and Wasps are the only critters we had issues with. They are around, but no one got stung. Just sent people running a few times.
- Don't plan on having much for data. Cell reception was usually fine, but data was extremely slow. Taking 5-10 minutes to send a picture. So download entertainment ahead of time.
I think it says a lot that even while there, we looked to see when the next availability is. This house would be great for work, family or friend outings. We are certainly looking at going back. Thank you for helping us get away in these crazy times!

Beautiful and Relaxing
We had an amazing time enjoying the great outdoors. The property is beautiful inside and out. There is so much for the kids and family to explore out doors.
We made meals in the well equipped kitchen, sat by the outdoor fire, played board games and enjoyed our time together. A wonderful way to start this new year. We will most certainly return!

Gorgeous Place! Very Secluded!
My family rented Dirk's hunting lodge for a week in July. This is a gorgeous place...everything is top notch and high quality. And if you don't find what you need in the house, let property manager Susan know, and she will supply it! On the first night, I asked about marshmallow forks...the next day, she delivered some to the house. Everything you might need is supplied in the house...and there are noodles and floaties and life jackets of all sizes for the borrowing in the shed. The only thing we didn't find were lake towels...but we had brought our own. We loved just swimming around in the DEEP and very clear lake (we could easily see our toes!). Be aware that this place is REALLY secluded...rock roads that are very narrow and in some places washed out are the norm. For those of us who are used to the country, that's not a big deal. We did all of our shopping before we got to the Lodge and barely left the property. Thank you, Dirk, for sharing your lodge. Thank you to Susan and Richard for maintaining it. We plan to return again!

Well needed relaxation!
Our family so enjoyed being here, the house and property was beautiful! Bedrooms are large, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are perfect. Plenty of room to spread out. Kitchen has everything you need. Fishing was great! Caught lots of bass, crappy and blue gill. Top water fishing is the best for this lake. The boats they provide are a lot of fun! Will definetly be back, would highly recommend! Age recommended 5 and up.

A Perfect Setting for a Family Rendezvous
The Lodge at Arrowhead provided the perfect setting for my families summer rendezvous. Eleven of us converged on Cedar Vale from Chicago, Austin and Ft. Collins. The lake made the week stay extremely comfortable in the August heat. The house is so comfortable and livable. The kitchen is fantastic. No reason to leave the Ranch. We could not have had a better experience.

Amazing property! Everything you could want for a fun get away!
The lodge is beautifully designed with a rustic flare; perfectly fitting this location. We took 5 of our grandsons ranging in age from 7-14. The lodge was equipped with great fitting life jackets making G'ma and G'pa feel so much better about the boys jumping off the dock into a fabulous clear lake right outside the back door. We enjoyed the use of a paddle boat, bass buggy and john boat while fishing the lake for crappie and bass. The kids were amazed they caught so many fish! You had to try hard NOT to catch a fish. We observed deer each morning around the lake and some as close as the back yard. The kitchen is equipped with beautiful appliances and the beds were so comfortable! It's an amazing property; we'll definitely go back. Thanks Dirk for allowing us to make such fun memories for us and our grandsons!

Great Time!
We spent a long weekend at Arrowhead with friends and family, and it was spectacular! The lodge is new and the location is gorgeous, very secluded – literally ‘at the end of the road’ – but luxurious! The architectural and interior design are modern, upscale-rustic; beautiful and spacious. The common areas are well designed and have great flow for entertaining large groups, but feel cozy and relaxing. I look forward to a roaring fire in the huge stone fireplace, if we get a chance to visit in winter. The views from the main gathering rooms are amazing, and each bedroom is placed to take full advantage of nature, either lakeview or woods and wildlife. Don’t sleep in too late or you might miss the deer and other critters that wander past your window! The gourmet kitchen was beautifully appointed with Viking appliances and plenty of seating for entertaining a crowd. The baths and entrance areas were designed with comfort in mind – no detail was overlooked. Fishing, swimming, and paddleboating on the lake were perfect, and star-gazing was amazing, zero light pollution, and the wildlife. . . so relaxing! It was like a little slice of paradise! I can see this becoming an annual getaway place for our family and friends, to unwind and enjoy!

Wonderful special event or vacation retreat
We spent 4 days at Arrowhead lodge this spring and had a wonderful time. This property abounds with wildlife including deer, turkey, birds, and wonderful views, and did I mention that the lake is full of fish.
Access is good from several airports. The recently built lodge has all the amenities to make life cozy and large enough to accommodate a large party comfortably. Lots of common area to enjoy family and friends in a secluded setting with no worries about outside interruptions.
If you're looking for a retreat in the Kansas area, I would highly recommend this one.
