We did not stay at this property , when we arrived at 730pm the door keypad was not working after calling and getting lock pad cod and then entering the house to find it had not been cleaned for a long time. The beds were slept in , and bathroom linens from the last guest were in bathroom floorand etc. It had a closed up bad smell. We called in took pictures and was told they would try to get someone out to clean sometime ? We left and went and rented hotel for the night. They would not give me a full refund as promised. Would not recommend , this place is run down and NEEDS ATEENTION .

Perfect place for our stay

Property is dirty. Dishwasher was broken with a sign on it. There is mold in the hall/LR bath. Automatic lock did not work. Automated support line for Vacasa is bad. Finally got a real person and they were helpful. Definitely a disappointment.

Warming cozy home , super clean

Really fun budget-friendly stay for a spring break slopeside. Plentiful blankets and pillows, fun decor, great slope access and views, nice mudroom and cozy spaces. Only complaint: The microwave is struggling.

Location and View of Slopes
4.0
The view was amazing but unfortunately it smelled of must and mildew so badly we debated leaving. It was not vacuumed or cleaned. The carpet was covered in hair, crumbs and stains. I had to clean it myself just to stay one night. Would not rent this location again!
4.0
Pros: Walking distance to slopes; beautiful view of slopes outside living room windows; cozy atmosphere in cabin.
Cons: Getting into cabin requires strenuous walk up steep and crumbling rock stairs; spiral staircase between laundry room and main floor not easy for toddlers and senior citizens; thermostat was glitchy.

Weekend plans wrecked by filthy unit that was never cleaned. Ended up having to drive to Blowing Rock to stay in a clean motel. Avoid Vacasa managed properties like this one at all costs— no one on-site to assist or provide us timeframe for resolution. Renter beware.

The view

The listing accurately describes this small ski lodge. The ski slope is right across from the lodge. The space is tight, but it met our needs. The beds were comfortable. A very neat design. We enjoyed the stay.

While a lovely cabin in a great location, the cleanliness of the property made it very difficult to enjoy. It did not appear to have been vacuumed, and the corners, in particular, were covered in dirt and dead bugs. There was trash in cabinets under the sink and behind nightstands (which we moved to plug in chargers) and a layer of dust and grime on most surfaces. There was an unknown substance all over one of the shower’s walls that fell off while showering. The very visible dirt made it difficult to feel at ease. Less important, there was also no coffee (though hundreds of filters and two coffee makers) and we wished we’d known to bring our own. Overall, very disappointing and wish we’d stayed elsewhere.

Incredibly clean and modern in a convenientlocation. The windows gave a really open feel to the rooms and I enjoyed the abundance of natural light. The only negative was the bed was a little too firm for my liking which caused a stiff back after each night's sleep but that's my subjective opinion. This place had everything we could've wanted or needed and I would absolutely be willing to return for another stay.

While this cozy, conveniently placed cabin could
easily be in the running for one of my favorite places for me family and I to stay, once inside you start seeing or should I say FEELING the issues! +++From the front door- the landing and spiral staircase is a great to drop all the wet gear especially since the laundry room is connected as soon as you walk in.
++ when you walk up the spiral staircase it has a very cozy vibe. The kitchen is a little small but it was well stocked and for me my husband and four boys it was just fine.
--- the wood fireplace is nice but the stone it fits on has a straight Point through the hallway and everyone of us have busted toes. Seems silly to complain about until you're trying to put on your ski boots and then feeling it all day long!
-- the living room could hold us all but the two chairs that lean up against the glass will not come out far enough to where they do not hit the glass. The chairs were very sensitive and they would slam back every time. My husband said it looks like the windows are actually about to fall out. If they did break and your head was right there...well you get the point.
-- my very fit 15 year old slipped while grabbing socks across the king size bed and impaled himself on the footboard. It has very sharp spikes on the headboard which kept touching my hair and on the footboard which impaled my son.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay! The pictures don't do it justice. This home is very cozy! We will stay here again!

The house is in dire need of cleaning and repairs. From dirty carpets to dirty appliances. The inside bottom of the oven was solid black and crusted over from burnt food. The outlet in the master bedroom is a safety hazard. One side was completely gone and while my husband was plugging in a phone charger he was shocked. It wasn’t just a light shock. The master bedroom door to the outside was unlocked whenever we arrived. We opened it from the outside. There was a liquor bottle left on the porch. We contacted management several times and sent pictures to verify all of the problems. We were compensated very little considering all the issues we had, especially being shocked by a live wire by an outlet. We hope the outlet will be repaired and no one else will be shocked. This was our first time renting through Vacasa but unfortunately it may be our last.

The cabin is for up to 6 person but was just 3 sets of towels and a problem on the toilet valve that was never fixed. The access to climb to the house was super dangerous

The place is adorable. We loved the real wood burning stove. The walk up to the cabin from the car isn’t for the weak or elderly. But it’s beautiful. The space is tiny but three of us had enough room for a couple days.
The dishes need replaced/washed better. The rug in the main bedroom is pretty gross. Disgusting stains all the way to the bathroom. The view from the main bedroom is so peaceful and beautiful I wish the windows were cleaned better so I could have enjoyed it more.
Overall, we had a good stay and the cabin is sufficient. Shamp/cond/soap is supplied. Ample toilet paper for both bathrooms and kitchen supplies such as detergent and paper towels were there. Cozy, equipped but needs some love.
GREAT location to everything in this area!

It was clean but wish offered more towels, kitchen supplies. Again beds were awful to sleep in….also dangerous flooring around pot stove and steps were very loose.

The pictures are not accurate, they are definitely glammed up. On arrival our cabin was "missed" with housecleaning, so when we walked in after a long day of traveling we were furious. The sheets were not changed, the floors had not been vacuumed or mopped, there was trash on the cabinets, and an unpleasant smell. The property manager was very nice and went and cleaned it himself, but it still did not sit well with me. My husband and I would have found a new place to stay with getting a refund, but there was nothing available in the area we wanted to be in.

Really great property, except the hot water in both showers only lasted less than a minute

We wanted a quick and short getaway before the pending school start and even though we couldnt stay for a day due to some personal work we did manage to get a good rest in solitude. Nearby banner elk park was large enough and had variety to keep both our kids 2 and 5 entertained and excercised.

This cabin is tucked away on Sugar Mountain. It backs up right to the woods. If you like chipmunks, you're in luck! You'll probably spot a few scurrying along the sides of the mountain or across the road.
We became especially fond of "FRED" the deer on the wall. Great place for three or four people.
It was very nice to have the large glass windows to take a look around. Good WiFi connections and cable keep you entertained late at night or if it rains.
Be advised that access to the cabin requires navigating steep stairs. Not the greatest for lugging up luggage. Probably not ideal for the elderly. or disabled.
My two teenage daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to one day making our way back again.
We'd recommend!

We loved this little property, it was perfect for us and we were beginner snowboarders. We did have some plumbing trouble while we were there and also couldn’t locate the dumpster to dispose our trash, but the house was great! Would definitely stay again!

Cute Mountain House
We had a great time and really enjoyed our stay. Sugar Mountain and Banner Elk are fun to visit and the views were spectacular. I only had two complaints about the house. It was advertised as a 6 person house. I have no idea how 6 grown adults could fit in that house because we had difficulty fitting 2 adults and 4 kids. It was very tight in the house and was hard to maneuver around. Lastly, the front stairs and accessibility inside the house was difficult. The front stairs could stand to be redone to make them a little safer walking up and down. I’m not sure how you would maneuver them if it was snowing. Overall, we had a great trip

we enjoyed our weekend getaway here, but we found ourself stubbing our toes anywhere we walked. there were slight raises in the floor going into the bathrooms and then the fire place. other than that it was a great house. the walls are VERY thin. you hear everything.

Lots of things to love about this house! You really feel like you are up in the trees! The views are nice and the house was clean. Having the fireplace was great. I will say the house is advertised as ski in and ski out but its really not. You can see the ski lifts from the house but there is a road and another house between this house and the lifts. I will say this house is not a good choice for people with small children or anyone with mobility issues. The wood and stone steps that lead up to the house are very uneven and have lots of loose rocks. There is also about a 2inch step up into both bathrooms and the kitchen which is a drip hazard for everyone but it could be very dangerous for small kids or elderly people. There are lots of fun things to do 5-30mins from the house. The area is beautiful and the locals are really friendly. I would definitely recommend this house as long as you are not traveling with small kids, elderly, or mobility impaired people.

We did not like there were no fans in the rooms, no trash cans in the rooms, we had to take our own trash down. On the day we left the area of where to take the trash was closed. So , we had to bring it home with us…. There needs to be lights along the steps leading to the house at night, my cousin fell and has a severe sprain. I wish I would have researched the comments better because I never would have rented there. It was not the stay I had hoped for…. Not a good cabin if you have children or older adults…

If you like rustic, as we do, then you'll love this place. This home was exactly as it was pictured. The spiral staircase to get to the living space was a tiny challenge with suitcases, but a small inconvenience considering how lovely it was once we got upstairs. It felt like a tree house because of all the glass and the views. I would caution any visitors, though, to be very careful walking by the stove in the living room. The stone floor under the stove sticks out a bit and caused us a few stubbed toes. We learned our lesson quickly, though. It was hard to leave, and we would love to stay there again some time. It's close to all the things we wanted to experience.
