From the moment we walked through the door we felt relaxed. Watching the changing landscape as we sat outside was beautiful as was hearing the variety of birdlife. After a day of exploring the Tarkine it was wonderful to soak in the outdoor spa bath. Whilst being so close to the township of Smithton and conveniently located to the TArkine drive, Island View Spa Cottage really felt like you were totally away from civilisation. Bliss!

The views, and sunsets, from this cottage are just awesome. Even waking up in the morning mist was special. The cottage itself was just perfect, cosy and comfortable. All the little extras (like the breakast supplies and bubble bath) made us feel really welcome.

We came from Germany to spend some weeks in Tassie. We are so happy that we found that lovely cottage. It is perfect equiped and the view from the terrace is breathtaking.
We loved to spend the evenings with some pademelons outside and enjoyed the spa. Thanks for sharing this place with others. We Highlights recommend this cottage.

Quiet spot with great views
The peace and quiet, just the bird song, is wonderful. We loved the spa bath and sitting out on the verandah with the stove when the weather was up to it. Whilst most of the accommodation is fine we found the kitchen facilities a bit tired.

Lovely Cottage
We loved our stay at this lovely little cottage. The view was amazing and the cottage was cosy and comfortable. The breakfast goodies were a thoughtful touch as was the fire set ready to go. We really enjoyed watching the little blue wren and his partner and being able to bring our dog was great.

Fantastic Little Cottage with 10/10 views
On our arrival to Island View Spa Cottage, Michael had amazingly prepared the cottage with a stocked fridge and was cozy warm with the slow combustion fireplace burning. We found the cottage very relaxing and the views of Duck Bay were amazing, always in a state of change with the sky and tides.
The cottage is set up for a chilled/laid back stay, coming from Melbourne, it provided an opportunity to disconnect and reconnect to what's important in life. We enjoyed the quietness, listening to the wind through the large eucalyptus trees on the property or the hearing the finches, kookaburras and eagles.
Overall, a fantastic week, such a great opportunity to relax and discover the NW of Tasmania.

Amazing view
Our family of five comfortably fit into this charming cottage with an amazing view. The kids loved the bubble bath and the spa bath! The loungeroom was small and the cottage is starting to show its age. However, we had a great time and would come back again.

Awesome setting
Just what we wanted. Private, quiet, great view. Lots of wildlife. Had a long visit from a wedge tail eagle, who came to sit on the branches of a dead tree right in front of us.

Perfect escape!
This was an unforgettable place. We enjoyed our wedding anniversary here over a long weekend. Dreamy sunsets every night enjoyed next to the fire or from in the spa. Clean, tidy but perfectly situated. and some of the best *mixed-tape* CDs provided by the cottage to dance to on the front lawn with outside speakers!

Slice of Paradise
Excellent stay. As wonderful as the photos show. All the special touches like bubble bath, treats in the pantry great breakfast provisions. The outside spa by the fire was so nice to experience at dusk. Will definitely be back.

Wished we had stayed longer.....
The view was simply stunning. The privacy was absolute. The decor was tasteful. The breakfast supplies were yummy (fresh eggs!). The fire was warm and inviting. The wildlife was friendly (but too shy for our camera!!). Great spot for access to Stanley and the Tarkine forest. The bed was comfy. Did I mention the view??

Great View - interesting features!
We just had 3 days at this cottage & while there are some interesting features including a spa bath with wood burning fire on the decking overlooking an inlet, there is also a sense of clutter here! There is a lot of furniture, crockery & cutlery all packed into a small space! At dusk we saw several wallabies, possums & a very shy bandicoot and yet this is a dog friendly property...seemed at odds with the environment. This property is small & would make an ideal couples retreat but there is enough stuff squashed into the rooms & cupboards to accommodate several more.....plus pets!!!

My idea of paradise - I could easily live here.
This place has it all. The owner has thought of everything and then added little extra things in as well. I intend on staying here again in the future. Completely private and secluded, an amazing view, warm, cosy and everything is functional. Recliners to sit on, fire ready to light, even has spices in the cupboard and a pair of binoculars.. Too many awesome things about this place to list. If you are considering staying here, don't hesitate.
