Enjoyed staying at a heritage property with historical significance. The hosts made it even special by telling more stories about the great Gaekwad family. Thank you.

Where do I begin ? Madhav bagh has been one of the best homes we have stayed in. It has exceeded our expectations by leaps and bounds.
Cosy, comfortable and very aesthetically done up it was everything and much more
Shivraj ji and his wife Indrayani were THE most perfect hosts we have come across. Each morning and evening they would chat with us for a while while we were having our meal which to me is going that extra bit for the guests.
From calling us to find out our arrival to helping us plan our time in Vadodara whether organising local transport or suggesting itineraries they did it all and always with a smile.
We were served delectable and traditional home food.
Special mention - the mutton loncha ( pickle ) and the missal were finger licking good !!!
Bhagat and Gaurav two young boys who work for them were also always there whenever we needed them.
Lots more to explore in Vadodara and Madhav bagh will remain our ONLY choice of stay there
It was absolutely perfect !!!!

it’s a very unique property, heritage stay is the right way to describe it. quirky, well-decorated rooms. the three staff who were looking after us at the property were very polite and friendly.
no phones in rooms so you have to take the mobile number for the caretaker. also at check in there was nobody to be seen so had to google their number and call for help.

This property is just so cosy and gives you a feel of visiting your own family. Shivraj sir and Indrani ma'am personally ensure of your well-being while you are staying with them. It is less of a hotel/homestay feel and more like visiting your own relatives. They make you feel that comfortable.
The food is just fantastic. We had lunch and dinner with them, and I must say you will not find such exquisite cusine anywhere else.
They will serve you a meal fit for a king.
Their entire staff is courteous and will look after your every need. If possible even go beyond.
It is also pet friendly, so you don't need to leave your furry friends behind.
The rooms are quite cosy and comfortable. The bathrooms are also quite big and well designed and maintained.
The property itself has a rustic feel and you will love the architecture. And it's right in the heart of the city, so it's nearby all the attractions the city has to offer.
All in all, I would come again for the hospitality they render and the food they serve.

Super hosts primarily. Communication prior to arrival was clear and set the tone for the rest of the trip. The homestay itself is charming and recently renovated. It has all the feels of a bygone era with the facilities of a current one. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. and Shivraj and Indrayani were just wonderful company while making sure all our needs were taken care of.

Breakfast was delicious, both the Indian dishes and European. I especially enjoyed the papaya we had on our second day, the home made jams and masala tea. We could not have been better looked after, such friendly and welcoming hosts who took so much trouble giving us advice and organising our transport. Our stay was for both of us a real highlight of our trip to Gujurat. We will certainly be coming back!
Although we were invited to make use of the spacious living room/dining room after dinner, we were aware that the family would be eating after us and so feIt this wouldn’t be fair. We were able to sit in the lovely sunken courtyard but the lighting wasn’t strong enough to read by. So more lighting and comfortable chairs would be perfect!

We stayed here for a night with my three furry babies; Mr Shivraj and Devyani ma'am are super hosts, ardent dog lovers and owners of this beautiful property made our stay so memorable. You can enjoy the natural environment even in the middle of a city with this well-maintained property with a large garden for your pets to run around.
One must try the yummy mutton curry :)

The access road does not suggest what a traditional little palace is at its end. The architecture is very interesting. The left part is built in Hindu, the middle in Gothic and the right in Muslim architectural style, as the owners explained to me. They are extremely courteous, hospitable and speak good English, so you can learn a lot about the country and its people.
Here you get very good, varied and self-prepared Indian cuisine. Unfortunately, I could only enjoy this for breakfast, because I was always invited by my business partners for dinner in the evening.

the stay at Madhav Bhag with Indrayani and Shivraj will be one of the most cherished vacations my husband and I have had. we never expected the experience to be so wonderful. When we left the place we felt like we had come to a relatives house. The entire family and staff came to see us off.. and the FOOD... i have absolutely no words to describe the amazing food served.. if you are a hardcore nonveggie and you are tired of cliche spreads for lunch and dinner, then you will fall in love with the meals here.... we would definitely go back to madhav Bhag.

Indrayani and Shivraj make every effort to make you feel at home. The place itself is beautiful and tastefully done up. It had the ability to take you back in time, effortlessly

Breakfast was prepared to order and very tasty. The hosts are very welcoming and a treasure of knowledge about Vadodara. They have a nice collection of books and photographs about Vadodara. The lady of the house cooked all meals herself. The property is well maintained. Hot and cold running water 24 hrs is available. There are very cosy and comfortable areas to sit and read. It is close to many tourist attractions.
Some windows with nets in the rooms for ventilation at night would be a welcome addition in case one dosen't want to use the airconditioner.

They had a great continental and indian breakfast. The host enquired before hand what our preferences would be, and all our needs were accommodated very well.
