Good location, staff were friendly and very helpful. Parking was included by booking through booking.com so that was an advantage as otherwise its £10 for overnight parking.
Not enough towels in the room (just one big and one small plus the floor towel and we were a party of two ladies). So after undressing I then had to re-dress to go to reception to ask for more towels so we could both shower. Young man on reception resolved this immediately, so thank you.
There was a cobweb/dust handing from the ceiling.
View from the window was a big pile of rubbish/tip in what looked like the back car park of the hotel and a car wash. It was very warm so we had to have the window open and labourers were parking/chatting outside our window from 6am so we were woken much earlier than we wanted. Mattresses weren't the best, quite squeaky and I fear probably old and well used.

Young man on the front desk was very welcoming
Plug sockets near your bed wifi that works a bath that wasn't chipped plug holes that wasn't rust bath and sink that actually held water
3.2
Last order at bar taken at 2300hrs.
You had to pay separately for the vehicle parking. Staff can make you feel more welcoming.

Room was so out dated and rough looking I’ve took pics to complain it made me quiet uncomfortable..also Leisure facilities due to an up date which can’t be helped I suppose ..
3.2
Staff are very friendly
Room needed some TLC.
3.2
Staff at breakfast very helpful
Bed was really uncomfortable and was like sleeping on concrete. Noise from nearby dual carriageway and next room made sleeping impossible
3.2
The receptionists were the best thing here the breakfast is awful. Bed not too bad very clean bed linen.
The room quite nice not the ritz but for the price acceptable
Definitely the breakfast

The staff were great. The food in restaurant was awesome. Parking was free on weekend. This was the only good thing about this stay.
Worst hotel ever! Firstly had to go up the stairs then down stairs to get to our ground floor rooms due to refurbishment. On arrival to the room the windows were wide open as it was ridiculously hot. Radiator on full blast all night unable to turn off so had to sleep with windows wide open. The bathroom had an extremely loud buzzing from a non existent fan when the light was on. I reported it but no other twin rooms were available and no one available to fix so we had to suffer because we had pre paid otherwise I’d have packed up and left. Further after very little sleep the next morning we went to find the spa only to discover it was closed for refurbishment. We didn’t know about these refurbishments and had chosen this hotel purely for this purpose so added to our anger. Feel very sorry for the lovely staff who must feel very embarrassed having to put up with the complaints.
3.2
There was nothing positive to say about this hotel
There is an additional parking charge that’s not mentioned until you’re there. The pool and spa is currently closed - also not advised until arrival
The room was old , broken floor tiles in bathroom, it wasn’t clean at all - the bed and bedding is old and smelly and uncomfortable .had no sleep due to an intermittent humming noise all through the night
3.2
Due to refurbishment it was extremely difficult to get around this hotel. I booked a easy access room due to disability and I had to go up and down stairs to get to the room which made it pointless to be called easy access
3.2
Receptionist was excellent.
Swimming pool was nice and warm.
Plenty of parking.
Mattress needs to be replaced immediately. It was lumpy and old. I can't remember the last time I stayed anywhere where it was so bad. Premier Inn is far superior. Wished we had gone there.
Bulb in the main light in the bedroom needed replacing. Such an obvious thing that should have been done without asking. It took half an hour for someone to come and have a look.
Lift was not working so had to carry our cases upstairs. No assistance was offered. The lift was out of order the entire 3 days we were there. Such a basic requirement should have been fixed much quicker, as it was specifically mentioned in information before you booked.
The service in the restaurant in the evening was non-existent. After being seated we had to call out to someone after 15 minutes to take our drinks order. Took half an hour to get our starters, and another half hour before our main courses arrived. We therefore didn't bother ordering dessert. All this when the restaurant was almost empty!
3.2
Staff were amazing.
Rooms very dated and not very clean
3.2
Wonderfully friendly staff everywhere, reception, breakfast staff, restaurant in the evening too!
Lift was temporarily broken, but stairs were most pleasant, being wide and carpeted.
3.2
Dining area the fact gym and pool were available to us but on this occasion we didn’t have time
Bed too hard by far. Asked for accessible room but no wet room available. Couldn’t use the shower over the bath
My husband felt it needed an uplift eg our bathroom door looked as though it had been jemmied open, needed repainting
3.2
Not a lot
Room smelt musty . Bathroom v cramped, bit run down , used swimming pool and very tired , not the best. Staff quite good and for one night soo over adequate, would not return
3.2
Location, grounds, dining area/bar and swimming pool.
The bedroom was very tired needs refurbishment. On suite was dreadful inadequate lighting and dirty, I would not use it to bath a dog if I could find it in there.
3.2
Exceptionally friendly staff and spacious rooms.
Furniture a bit dated and bathroom looked very tired.
3.2
Staff were exceptional in front of house, Brasserie and evening bar.
Room needs upgrade, window new but not sealed in properly.
Shower is a real issue controls do not work properly water was scolding hot.
Noise in passage and rooms could hear most of what was being said even when someone went to the toilet.
Bed or mattress uncomfortable
Just very tired.
Parking having to pay £10 a night on top of booking price, we choose this over the Travel lodge to keep costs down but actually Travel lodge would have been cheaper and more comfortable.
3.2
The location was great and the restaurant was good.
It is extremely dirty. The room smelt awful the floor had hair and bits on it. The bathroom smelt damp. There was a lot of dust too.
I headed the swimming area and came straight out. It was so dirty!
3.2
Everything was perfect
3.2
Old hotel with run down facilities. Need renovation and more attention. The spa facilities are not very clean. Floors and shower are with sleepy floor and mould in the curtains. The room we booked was with a wee smell and dirty. Curtains we’re hanging down.
3.2
The breakfast was nice .. coffee machine hard to use though. Nobody I saw could work it, assistant had to do it, very nice decor in restaurant and bar
3.2
Cheap. And did the job.
Food downstairs in the restaurant was very good and the staff on our first night for food were very good and ensured we had anything we needed. Inwas pleasantly surprised.
Hotel staff were good and helpful
The room was a bit dated, and the extractor fan didn't work in the bathroom, which meant our room got quite stuffy on a muggy evening.
On the second evening of our stay, the waiting staff were younger, and to be honest, they were terrible. The youngish lad that was waiting on me and my sister didn't listen to a thing we wanted. Buggered up every time he came over to us with wrong orders or only bringing 1 drink when we ordered 2 and the like.
And then he spilt a whole pint on someone else luckily they were staying in the hotel so they could change. But then i dont think he wasn't very apologetic and tried to make a laugh out of it.
And he was definitely distracted by the other waiting staff member who he clearly fancied. So all in all sort your younger staff members out in the restaurant.
So again id like to say the food was good but please make sure youre staff are trained or on different shifts
3.2
Excellent restaurant
Hotel bedrooms were a bit tired looking and layout very confusing finding rooms
3.2
Convenient location and plenty of free parking for hotel guests
On arrival we was greeted by a lovely lady on reception, we checked in with no problems and then got told the lift was out of service because a BULB had gone so it was a trek to our room on the 2nd floor right at the far extremities of the building. Id Booked a double room for myself and my Fiancée for our engagement anniversary as a treat for her and to cheer her up after the tough time she's had recently. We didn't notice until we went to bed the first night that the alleged double bed was infact two single beds pushed together claiming to be a double...we could barely cuddle as the middle of the bed had the corded edge of each mattress down the centre which stuck up a considerable amount making it very uncomfortable unless you lay on your own side. Not an ideal situation at all and I lay across it in a fashion so I could cuddle my partner as she was upset. We both fell asleep and I woke early on the morning and I couldn't move! My back had gone because of how I'd lay, we couldn't make use of the swimming pool as we'd planned because I was in so much pain. The room itself was quite dirty and in need of refurbishment, old brown furniture which looked like it belonged in the 80's, a tiny TV that kept going fuzzing through lack of signal and we was woken at 8am by the CAR WASH company the hotel have allowed to set up on the car park right opposite multiple rooms.
3.2
looked ok from outside
Worn, shabby and dated. Hotel charges £10 per night on check-in for parking which isn’t mentioned when booking. Room absolutely stank of stale cigarettes and overpowering cleaner
3.2
Friendly staff, free use of pool & thermal suite, great food.. infact it was excellent.
Bedding worn and didnt fit beds and bathrooms dated, but the hotel was cheap so we were not bothered
3.2
location & bar
dated, needs decorating, bathroom mouldy, bed soft, carpets grubby
3.2
Good location and value for money, food from the bar was 10/10, friendly staff
Room was very warm (easily fixed by opening the window), decor quite tired but you do get what you pay for, bed felt quite springy - not my preference
