The location, the view and the staff were great
The room was extremely hot, the one AC for two bedrooms was not sufficient. The construction of the room was poor, the walls were so hot that the room felt like an oven. The electricity went off for hours in the middle of the night and the generator was out of power after 30 min., so we were in the dark and in extreme heat for hours.

Prachtige ligging, hulpzame team, lekker eten

Food was amazing
Wish there were lounge chairs by the lake, not many comfortable places to chill by the water

We loved all of the plants, the crystal clear and safe lake to swim in, the terraced eating area as well as the little platform to relax on up top. All of the food we had was nice as well, especially the tomato soup, which was a special one day.
The water in our room to shower with was not warm. Being on the lower floor, room 3, we could hear every noise from the upstairs rooms, and it was loud.

Beautiful place with lovely people working there. The food was so delicious and the yoga session was great! Thank you Silke! Hansel and Liss were so helpful and all the team who worked there were just lovely!! Being able to swim in the Laguna every morning was magical

I was not aware that AC was not included in the Booking.com price, but that was fine, the AC was great!

This place is like a little paradise, I loved the view, chillaxing in the hammock in front of the lagoon was pure joy. I only stayed one night but I'm looking forward to go back and stay more than one night.
We've got there very late at night, and William greeted us, he was very kind, gentle and nice with us.

Absolutely awesome place and location. The team are lovely, Saskia and Hansel are the only names I can remember but everyone from the owner to the chef to the maintenance guy. Ideal for relaxing, eating good food and lots of great swimming in the lagoon. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The staff were nice. The location of the lagun was nice. The michelada was good. The breakfast was yummy.
The food was so bland, they need to learn how to add salt to there food. If you want a good pasta do not order the pesto pasta it had literally zero flavor. We also tried the filet mignon and fish of the day and all of the plates had zero flavor, not even salt. The environment is very chill it’s a place to rest and not really much going on after 8pm.

This place was a slice of paradise. Surrounded by trees and birds right on Laguna Apoyo. It was a hidden oasis. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was AMAZING! Plenty of places to relax with hammocks or have a drink. They had kayaks, inner tubes and even binoculars you could borrow. Upon arrival we received a complimentary drink and the prices were great (didn't try to overcharge drinks etc. like some places do). Had a wonderful massage right in my room. Our room also had a wonderful balcony where we enjoyed birding and just listening to the sounds of nature. We didn't want to leave and are already planning our return.
Nothing except that we couldn't stay longer.

Everything about Casa Marimba is a treat to the senses; the birds, the flowers, the water, the sheets (2 words=egyptian cotton🤗), the breezes in the afternoon, & the service! There is always that one person that makes you wonder if the owners know the unparalleled value this employee brings. At Casa Marimba it's Javier! If you've got the question, he's gonna bring you an answer, with a smile, quickly! Also front of house Hansel completely embraces the western travel ethic of excellence! Thank you🙏🏿 Now, most important...the food...HOLY COMIDA BATMAN😲. The doñas of the kitchen provide perfect portions (enough fries for each bite of burger😉), awesome presentations, and enough flavor pairing to keep you oh so happy! Not true what they say about too many chefs!! The fresh daily juices, the fragrant pressed coffee, the morning breads and OMG tiramisu👀! Yup! Full bar and attentive staff that seems to have a cohesive job description...JOY, with as much or as little interaction as you like. There are daytrippers on the weekend, but all well organized to avoid drama! Wifi is strong down to the water's edge, and accomodations are screened in to combat biters. Overall my best resort experience on 5 continents! Going back asap😉 🤗 p.s. L.A. artisan, craft, locally sourced, brick oven, blah blah $30 pizzas...shame on you😂
Suggestion: I believe a mechanism to enforce leash rules for day pass dog owners would be helpful. It's a bit short sighted to allow multiple dogs to run free in the midst of children. It's a bad combination with predictable risk exposure.

Staff was very friendly. Location was awesome, beautiful setting with beach and view. Could not be better.
Food was good and we were very happy. Not a 5 star resort but a great place to stay with a killer view and location right on the lagoon. Swimming was amazing too! Warm water surrounded by trees mountains and crystal clear fresh water and very private. What else could you ask for!
We were very happy and have nothing negative to say! There is nothing worse than reading negative comments from spoiled people that expect a 5 star star for a 3 star price! This place was an awesome value for the money.

Our stay at Casa Marimba was just perfect! The service and employees are incredibly friendly and helpful. The space itself is super nice, relaxing and calming. The food was awesome. Also, we had lots of fun with the kayaks on the lake. All in all, a wonderful stay! We definitely recommend it!

The room was nice and exactly what we would have expected for a Nicaragua hotel room. The breakfast was awesome and the staff was very accomidating.
Nothing really. We were pretty happy. It would be nice to remove one of the trees for a nicer lake view from the room. (Room #4) but overall pretty great.

Lake views. swimming platform. multiple hammocks and hangout spaces around the property. vegan selections at Restuarant.
Popular with Managuans who pay the day use fee…so the available spaces for hanging out by the water can be unavailable unless you claim a spot early. Not awful, but it is not a big property.

the views, the design of the property it self is not just stunning, but it’s an oasis that transports you.
nada… loved it all.
