Beautiful location. We loved the dock and porch. There were a few crumbs in the kitchen and mold/mildew on the shower curtain in the upstairs bathroom. The house was old and a fixer upper. Very rustic, but we loved it!

The house and property were very nice! We all enjoyed our stay. We’re from the greater Houston area and Louisiana, so it was centrally located which made it convenient. Some fish were caught, but not a lot.

This is an excellent property to visit. Right on the water and the host has everything you could need during your stay. Definitely will stay here again.

Very nice and clean

Place was nice but it wasn’t very clean the floors were filthy, the tubs had thick gunk and globs of hair in them. The towels and sheets were left in the dryer not even dryed. The bunk house took forever to get in because the lock was messed up. I payed a lot of money for this place to had have these issues.

The house is as shown in pictures. There is not internet, but there is satellite TV. It does not actually sleep more than 8 unless you rent the bunk room, which costs extra, but we did know this going into the reservation. The house was moderately/reasonably clean. There were some small things like moldy shower curtains, a dead wasp on the bed/window sills that were not enough to call the owner about but enough to notice. I had to contact the property manager when I could not get the door open (my own fault) and she was incredibly nice and helpful. When we arrived on a Saturday there was a notice from July from the local water treatment center posted on the refrigerator when we arrived saying the water was unsafe to drink so we bought all of our water until we called Monday and found out it was safe to drink. This was irritating but did not ruin the trip. The dock and cleaning station are great. Most of the kitchen/cooking utensils we needed were already there which was great. The furniture was all a little older/worn, which was not a big deal in the living room, but the beds were the same. Every single person in our group, including some young people with no history of back problems, all woke up with stiffness and back and/or hip pain everyday. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it would have been really elevated to a great trip if we could have gotten a good nights sleep and if we had known the water was potable from the start.

Better then the pictures. We got there a hour early but called and they told us to go in. I brought my best friend and one of his sons. Two dudes in our 60’s and a 40 year old. I said that because we all felt like children. Eagles, catching perch and catfish off the peer, geese, late night fire pit and BBQing with beautiful weather. Just awesome. I have rented over a half a dozen VRBO camps in Toledo Bend. This one was the best! The camp was clean and easy to keep clean. Thank you Mrs. Candace and Mr. Kenneth. We needed it.

The house is great. The area is beautiful, but aside from the nearby Cypress Bend Park with its beach, there's virtually nothing to do in the area unless you have a boat and/or fishing gear. Can't even rent a canoe at the Park, or anywhere else in the vicinity. The house looks out on a beautiful inlet of the Sabine River, but without a boat of your own, you don't get to explore--frustrating that the paddle boat and dinghy right down at the water are not for guest use.

Georgeous view, very clean. Enjoyed out stay. However, we had rented a boat from Turtle Creek Lodge 2 months before coming and the day we are headed up there they call us to tell us there is no boat for us the next day. Stay here but do not rent from Turtle Creek.

Roomy well-kept house except the kitchen food prep area is cramped. Not having Wi-Fi access was a bit inconvenient as well. Overall everyone enjoyed our stay and would most definitely stay again

Overall good
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very accomodating for a large group. My only complaints are the central A/C was not cooling and the grass was very long, but overall, a good place to stay. The view is beautiful. The owners respond very timely.

Very nice place
It was a nice clean place. Everything worked really well. Plenty of room inside and out. Parking is not great if you have more than one boat but it is doable.

What we needed.
Perfect place for a quiet getaway. Not much to do but the kids still had a blast. Caught a few fish and had no problems with neighbors. Had a pretty awesome storm roll through about the time we were telling ghost stories and making s’mores around the campfire. Beautiful place.

Fabulous week
Really amazing location! The house was wonderful! The appliances were all new. The kitchen is well stocked, there is even an instapot. I believe there was enough dinner plates for 8, but if you have a bigger group, bring more plates. Sheets and towels were clean and comfy. One of the upstairs queen beds is a little wonky. My nephew said it felt like there was a "dent" in it or like a spring was out. But the other 5 beds (really 6 since one is a bunk) were terrific. The tile floor made it easy to sweep up the dirt we tracked in. Outside was amazing. We had a fire in the firepit every night. Marshmallow sticks are in the pantry. The grill was adequate. Be sure to bring charcoal. We also purchased a grill scrubber and grill utensils. The fishing pier is awesome. New picnic tables. There is a light for night fishing, a minnow bucket, and a sink for cleaning!
Be sure to purchase 3 mil construction garbage can liners. We misunderstood and only brought kitchen trash can liners.
The property listing says wheelchair accessible with help from assistant. This means there is threshold to get over with 2 small steps. A manual wheelchair can easily be pulled up and over; however a 400-pound power chair can't make it, be sure to bring a portable ramp.
Overall it was a 5-star stay. The owners have put a lot of thought and care into this property. We hope to come again!!

Family getaway
We really enjoyed our visit to the cabin but when going make sure you have daylight because those are some dark and scary roads at night

Disappointment but great location
1) Garbage Disposal did not work- smell and backup into disposal from dishwasher or just running water in the partially sink clogg.
2) Tub/Shower in upstairs bathroom was clogged with very slow drain.
3) TV in master bedroom did not work. Could not get to turn on and called owner but said didn’t know anything about technical issues with TV. That’s crazy owner does not know? Had Roku TV no internet?
4) In front yard entrance wires hanging down from pole dangerous
5) Not enough dishes, utensils, glasses, for 6 or more renters.
6) Only provided toilet paper sparingly-what house rental does not provide toilet paper or paper towels.
7) No dishwasher or laundry soap provided.
8) Towels were stained and low quality-need new ones plus more towels.
9) Light in laundry room did not work.
We left a list on note area of these deficiency!
This house needs updating and lots of work if you want to rent. The rules from the Camp are outdated and need updating.
I would not recommend renting this house until repairs are made.

Good get-away
We had a Labor Day family get-together/fishing trip. Enjoyed the stay. The property was as advertised. Beautiful view, particularly in the early morning. Roasted wieners and brats on the fire pit. Good weekend.

Evacuation
Needed a place to stay when we evacuated for Hurricane Ida that would accomadate our large family. This was the perfect place. The view of the lake off the back porch was a blessing while we were dealing with hearing the troubles at home. Would love to stay next time for a better reason then why we stayed.
