It was a fantastic weekend and probably would come visit this hotel again.

The service was really nice -- we went during the offseason so they were running a bare-bones crew - but it did not feel like it. Mr Sajith and his team of Manjula and Lalantha went out of their way to make our stay special. From waiting at the gate to make sure it was open when we arrived to make sure that we had enough coffee on hand. The location was fantastic. Ahangama is not known for its beaches compared to its neighbours a few minutes down the road. But we thought the beaches were great. It was a little choppy due to the off-season but the water was pristine and it was really nice. Spent hours just soaking up the waves and the sun.

Exceptional

It's great that Surf Station is situated right on the spot of Sticks a well – known consistent surf break in Ahangama. You can wake up early in the morning, grab your board, and be in the water within minutes. Plus, you can take breaks throughout the day to relax at the hotel, enjoy the pool or have a meal at the restaurant before heading back to the waves. Overall, having Sticks surf break right on your doorstep makes Surf Station an even more appealing destination for surfers looking to catch some great waves and have a memorable surf trip. Sajith, the manager of the hotel, went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best stay. He made recommendations and arrangements for our activities. He was always willing to help and that added a lot to the overall appeal of Surf Station as a top-notch surf hotel in Ahangama.

I don’t want to leave !!!

The staff we so kind and very welcoming, they went above and beyond for us. The room was incredible and premise we super clean. Food was great and the oat pancakes were delicious…… Yummmm. I will 100% be back:-) To top it off the footage of surfing was super cool aswel.

Exceptional

We stayed 2 nights at surf station and had a very good time. You are staying in front of a very good surf spot called "Sticks". We could not just see the spot from the balcony and pool but even while showering ;) Surf station even has a nice roof top where you can do yoga or skating and from here you can also check out the surfspot "the rock/kabbalana". Apart from its amazing location it is a very beautiful and clean place with a clean and refreshing pool, friendly stuff and hosts and good food 😀 Perfect to have a relaxed and chilled time 🙂

Very suitable for surfers

Here's what you get when staying at Surf Statioolon: - Avi and his staff are very friendly peocple who are alwjilkays eager to help - They offer great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner (you should try the fish burger!) - Various surf spots in walking distance and there's even one right in front of the hotel - Good surf shop (RDS Surf School) in 2 minutes walking distance (board rental fee was Rs. 2,000 per day) - Spacious and quiet rooms (we can only tell for the rooms that are not facing the street) - Great view from the balcony, pretty garden with a beautiful pool - Very good and stable WiFi (probably better than the one I have at home) Even though there are a lot of positives, this place is still quite expensive. Especially, when taking into consideration that you can only access the beautiful Kabalana Beach via the garden door when there's low tide. Otherwise, you need to walk 5 minutes along the street. As I mentioned, the staff is very friendly. However, communication was sometimes a bit difficult and it was hard to find out what they have to offer for breakfast, lunch, etc.

The staff was so great, the food - excellent !! And the location is Perfect on the beach

WOW ! Definitely will return to this hotel for several reasons: All the hotel staff are always great and help with everything - from surfing instruction and recommending beaches to resturants and bars to tips on where to travel. In addition, the food is also delicious in the hotel ! the room is super comfortable , pretty big and always clean! And the location is so excellent ! it's on the beach , so you can always go to the sea all day long to surf or just have fun. what i liked the most is the 3rd floor with the best view and yoga in the morning to check the surf and enjoy the view ! thanks a lot for making this trip so great!

that i didnt stay longer ,it was too short for me, next time i will stay for 2 weeks in this hotel with this amazing stuff ! my bad that i didn't book for more days!!

Everything good Super breakfast Place was superb. really nice calm place with nice food, delicious food and nice friendly staff. We really love the environment and the indoor setting. All was positive. We will be back. Wish you all the best.

clean property

I booked and PAID FOR a suite, but seeing as though I was travelling a single person, the management thought it acceptable to give me a standard size (very small) room. When I took this up with them, they were incredibly difficult, made me wait an hour and then gave me the SAME room. By that time, I just couldn't be bothered, so took the room. The staff were really miserable and the place was vibe-less. Please note that I usually give reviews of 10(!), so this must have really been an issue. I hate writing bad reviews :-(

Friendly, family hotel with stunning view. Also nice food in the restaurant, i recommand this hotel!

Beautiful location, right next to the ocean. Very nice and helpful staff, nice and clean pool, breakfast is tasty and more than enough.

Cleaning could have been a bit better (curtains and windows were not very clean), but it was not a problem for us. Try to book the room with no window to the street beacuse it is very noisy. we got that room at first but the manager was very kind and change the room for us the next day.

An amazing and lovely week at ocean crest, a very good choice. Best staff ever

Everything was great, the room was clean and beautiful, it had all we needed in it, great a.c, good mini fridge, clean and comfortable shower and toilet. The bed was very comfortable, and we were offered room cleaning every day, even though we didn't need. Location is great right on the ocean, beautiful and lovely, the food was also very very good, we enjoyed everything we ordered from the kitchen very much. Above all, the staff was outstanding, they were always smiling, helpful, giving a tip and a hand in everything we ask, doing everything on it's best side, it was really an amazing choice to stay there, definitely worth the money 💗❤💗🙏

Awesome stay and great location for surfing

We really enjoyed the room, pool, food and service. Location is excellent for surfing, you can watch the Sticks surf break from the yard and Kabalana beach is a few minute walk away. Highly recommend!

Best of all worlds

We are home sick from this lovely “home away from home” we’ve found in Ocean Crest. Wonderful Manager and all the staff were kind, gracious and heart warming. Lalitha is professional, courteous, patient, sweet and kind, always providing consistent and considered hospitality. Iharun is playful, cheerful, fun and has great attitude to his work. Everyone here has great ethical practice. Another guy (dont know his name) who cooked on some days was so nice as well, and goes above and beyond. They ask us everyday if we’d like room cleaning, provide us with nice cotton ropes and the bed is very very comfortable. Facilities are 100%! Great Pool and Ocean front the most important thing is that they clean the pool and filter thoroughly every morning. And pick up every single piece of trash from the Garden ground. Operation is run very smoothly, organized and orderly. Wonderful, perfect relaxing breakfast spread and the best coffee I’ve had in Sri Lanka. All the rooms have beautiful view. You can watch sunrise AND sunset. Would come back 100% if we ever have the chance.

Be prepared the street in the back can be bit noisy for some (we were okay with it) Wifi not too usable..definitely not available at all areas..I asked other guests and they had similar experience.. The manager did go try to get another router to help the situation but didn’t do much. Our bathroom was clean but had a slightly funny smell

Great place to spend holiday. Definitely this is my place to stay in Sri Lanka.

Great place. Very nice, cosy hotel, specious rooms, direct at the ocean in front of the Sticks surf spot. From the garden you can also see The Rock- surf spot. Pleasant, clean swimming pool. Delicious breakfast and good restaurant. But most of all- great staff, always helpful, attentive and smiling. I was supposed to stay 4 days and stayed almost a month. Definitely this is my place to stay in Sri Lanka.

Perfect hotel. Really beautiful historical building, with an amazing staff. The rooms are different, full of nice details! I really liked the way they present drinking water in the room instead of using plastic bottles. The staff is making sure you have an unforgettable experience, the breakfast in the morning is all an experience. Thanks to all staff

Fantastic stay!

The staff were amazing and went above and beyond for us. The food was incredibly and left us in a food coma everyday! Highly recommend their Sri Lankan vegetarian rice and curry! Great pool and location! A perfect and quiet area to escape Colombo.

The bathroom was quite small and did leak.

Superb

We spent 4 nights here during the time that the corona virus was having it's impact on the Sri Lankan society. The staff are really friendly and attentive. Even in these crazy times they remained stable and welcome. When the world returns to normal we will surely stay here again.

Very good

Breakfast was lovely, the staff were great and very helpful. Bed was very comfortable and the room was a good size. Air conditioning was very effective.

We had a small child 9 months old, and they did not have a childs high-chair that was appropriate - it wouldn't fit to sit with us at the table which made feeding him difficult. I would suggest to get another high chair. Room had to be changed as we were given a room that we did not book at the start. But it was amended quickly and we were given the larger room we booked.
