It was cancelled one week before we went. Horrible.

First, my husband, dog and I stayed here for three weeks, so I probably noticed a lot of details that wouldn't be obvious or important to someone who is just coming for a long weekend. Overall, I liked this place a lot. The location is fantastic, the size is good, the outdoor space is beautiful and it allows pets. My only complaints are small ones that are (mostly) easily fixable. We were also there at the end of the season, so it may have been due for some upkeep.
Some examples: the upstairs shower curtain was over a foot long and collected water (and mold) during showers. It would be have been easy to replace it with one the correct size. The entire basement felt damp and smelled musty. Some of this may be hard to avoid, because the house is next to a creek. Fortunately, we were not staying downstairs. But if you are traveling with a large group, know that the two downstairs bedrooms are not nearly as nice as the ones upstairs. Batteries in the remote and flashlights were dead, so we replaced them.
On the plus side, there are plenty of the towels and linens and the appliances are all in good working order. There is a nice supply of games and puzzles. The view from the kitchen sitting area is really pleasant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it with a few small comments.

Vacasa needs to do better! We arrived, opened the lock box and no key! Called Vacasa and they said they would send someone out. An hour later, no key yet, so called again and was given code to alternate lockbox. Once inside, turned on lights but many lightbulbs missing. The next day Justin brought keys over and was a great help with managing the tv. No instructions had been provided. No cable available, just Netflix.
This is an older home with a nice living and kitchen area. Great views of the ocean. Nice walk to the beach. Friendly home for dogs.

LOCATION AND VIEW ARE EXCELLENT. UNFORTUNITLY THE HOUSE SMELLED LIKE ANIMAL URINE AND THERE WAS MOLD GROWING ON THE CEILING IN THE DOWN STAIRS LUANDRY/ BEDROOM AREA. PET FRIENDLY BUT NEEDS TO BE PROPERLY CLEANED AND MAINTAINED. I RECOMMENT THE AREA BUT I WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS HOUSR UNLESS YOU LIKE SLEEPING IN A ANIMAL FARM

House is spacious with a great layout for privacy. Beds were comfy and kitchen was well stocked!! We had a wonderful stay and recommend this home for group with or without children.

This was a pretty good example of your quintessential “beach” rental. Rustic paneling throughout, old wood floors, older, barely updated bathrooms (they worked fine), decent kitchen, comfy couches for watching movies, etc. Handy bonuses are the outdoor shower for washing the sand off the grandkids after the beach and plenty of towels available for everyone. Though up the hill from the beach two or three blocks, it has a nice view of the ocean and sunsets.

The house accommodated our three generations of family and one dog. It is a short walk to the beach and the house has some views of the surf. The garden helps make the house comfortable an cozy. We want more light in the living room. It was hard to read or do puzzles, etc.

This was a great property. Some of the drawers in the Kitchen and Fridge needed some love. The beds were comfortable and the gathering areas were great.

It was perfect for our troop! We loved the kitchen. It had everything we needed. The distance to the beach was super close. The little market in town wasn't far either.

Great value for an inexpensive stay
The Charmer was just what we had expected, simple but comfortable accomodations, great location, overall a great deal for us, especially with the multiple beds and space for 11. We'll definitely remember this one for future needs!

Excellent location
Looking for a cute, accommodating house for a family gathering/reunion after this Covid junk: This was a beautiful spot! AMAZING views. Kitchen is well equipped - dishes, cooking utensils, even salt/pepper! Lots of room for 11 people. Great games, books, movie selection. Easy drive to Manzanita, Cannon Beach or Seaside. Hardwoods made it easy on the allergies. Cons?: We had our 10am check-out upgraded (THANK YOU!!) -- but that original time is pretty early! Table is a smidge small for large groups. That said -- company was very responsive, house was clean and well stocked. Will be back!!

Adorable cozy cottage for a tight-knit group
Great views, close to the beach, lots of “away” space plus together space. Very comfortable. Thanks to the host for offering this sweet home.

Well laid out and cozy in the rain
We stayed at this place over the week of Thanksgiving. We experienced stormy weather for most of the week and it was great to be able to watch the waves from the main windows. We found that we had plenty of space for 9 (two families) people to find their own space. The walk to the beach is short (the road back up may be a bit steep for some) and you are close enough to Manzanita to walk (20 min). The house was well equipped for cooking Thanksgiving dinner-there was even a turkey roasting pan waiting for us on the kitchen counter.

Great stay
Perfect place for a big family mini vacation. Plenty of sleeping space and very short walk to the beach. Only small complaints would be the lack of bath towels and kitchen towels.

Sweet place
11 family members enjoyed this house completely. My only comment would be to leave better instruction for tv / dvd hookup. There is a smart tv, but not easy or intuitive to operate. With that said our weekend was fabulous because of the space and comfort of the beds, couches, and of course, the company.

Cute beach house
I loved the view, the location, and that there were plenty of beds for everyone. The kitchen was well equipped. The shower curtain in the downstairs bathroom needs to be replaced. The tile grout in both showers needs a deep cleaning.

Needs thorough cleaning
Seems a bit neglected. No lights for dark stairs. No extra light bulbs to replace. Big stack of undone laundry. Big pile of dirt on floor not swept up. Pile of sand under stool. Cleaning crew clearly not up to snuff. Maintenance should check out downstairs bedroom with the two beds. The twin bed had a gritty substance on it at the head of the bed and upon inspection and pulling bed away from the wall, there was more on the floor. Appears to be coming from the wall, behind the wainscoting

This was the perfect place for my family. There was plenty of room. It felt private. The beds were comfortable.

This is a good house with really good location. A view of the ocean and a block away from the beach. Also only a 10-15 minute walk (or 2-3 minute drive) to shops, restaurants and a hiking trail. No complaints about the beds or linens. Did not like that there were several burnt out light bulbs in the dining room and living area. We thought we could use the fireplace but it turned out to be locked closed. Also, cobwebs in the corner of the dining area indicates that maybe the house isn’t cleaned as thoroughly as I would have liked. Still, a decent house for what we wanted, and we enjoyed our time spent here.

Great location, house needs deep cleaning
We have friends in this neighborhood and have spent a lot of time here. Great location, views, access to beach, etc. This house has a good layout, new kitchen and comfy living room furniture. But as other reviews have pointed out it needs more thorough cleaning: the living room rug should be thrown away (smells disgusting), there is a bunch of random stuff under the couches (puzzle pieces, game pieces, hair, etc.), there were dirty dish towels in the kitchen drawers, sticking stuff on the bottom side of the tables, etc. Feels like a rental that never gets a deep clean.

Beach fun
Property was as listed. However the floors were really filthy. Dust balls under couch, sand all over all floors. Toilet paper scarce. The road to beach was not mentioned and was hard to walk for grandparents in 80`s. Everything else was awesome, had a great time and would use again.

Weekend stay
House was nice, just a quick walk from the beach.
Property management needs to clean in general, stock the house with TP and communicate about trees being cut down during your stay.

Cool House - Improvement Needed
This is a very cool house, great location + space. Beds were comfortable and clean. Unfortunately there were several details that made our stay less than ideal. The downstairs carpet seems to be soaked in dog urine. Was challenging to sleep in that environment. Smaller details like having a tiny 5 cup coffee maker or only having 4 dish washing pods seemed strange for a larger 5BR house. There were side table lamps in bedrooms that were just for show (?), they were all unplugged with no outlet on the corresponding wall. A few small fixes would make this place a winner! Would recommend asking Vacasa if improvemens have been made before booking.

We’d come back
Our family rented this home for a month - we were happy with its location and proximity to the beach. We were able to enjoy sunsets from the kitchen and living room every night. Accommodations were comfortable, plenty of towels and comfortable beds for everyone. Charming little creek allowed us to fall asleep to it’s sound. The house also had a big supply of firewood for us to use. After staying a month, there were only a couple things that were negatives: the kitchen is poorly stocked with appropriate sized pots and pans, and if it sleeps 11 I would expect it could serve 11 but it has only 8 full sized plates and 7 mixed matched wine glasses. We didn’t have 11 guests the whole time, but on the weekends this was a problem. The downstairs shower has no light and when we used the outside shower to rinse off our dog, the downstairs shower backed up with mud and food scraps. Clearly there is a plumbing issue - Vacasa came out and plunged it the first time, we took care of it the second time and then just stopped using the outdoor shower entirely (which was too bad because it is great for dirty dogs!) Lastly, the place was clean on our arrival but it was clear it needed a deep clean - under couches, bed frame tracks, stained shower liners. But for the price, we found it fair and affordable and we enjoyed our time there immensely.

Filthy
Man, this house is probably great when it’s clean. We were so bummed. There was animal hair EVERYWHERE. My husband and I were miserable due to an allergic response. We don’t normally react to pet hair/ dander (heck, we have two dogs and our friends brought their two dogs), but I swear this place hadn’t been cleaned in months. The bed linens were clean, but that was about it. My husband spent over an hour vacuuming the carpets and the furniture and we had to empty the canister twice. There were pine needles all over the floors and it felt so gross that we never even put our 8 month old crawling friend on the ground. There was a mass of hair on the wall in the shower upstairs and body hairs (eeew) along the baseboards in the downstairs bathroom. Cob webs had collected in the corners of the downstairs bedrooms. As we were getting ready to leave, I went through each room to make sure no one had left anything behind and found a pair of socks (not ours) and a pacifier (also not ours) under the bed in the master bedroom. As we left, we realized that we had truly left this place way better than we found it.
The property management partially refunded us the cleaning and pet fees, but I still get angry when I think about our experience. I sent multiple messages during our stay and did not receive a response until we returned home. We paid a lot of money to stay in this house and it’s not like we could just find a new place that would rent to us on the day of our arrival if we wanted to relocate. At this point, the only way to set this right would be a full refund. There’s a freaking pandemic and this house clearly had not been cleaned. I’m still baffled that they didn’t immediately respond and send a cleaning crew over after I sent my first message. That would have been an appropriate, easy solution to make sure the rest of our visit was pleasurable.
The location to the ocean is great and the views are probably wonderful when you can see out the windows. They were disgusting.
We feel like we were seriously taken advantage of and I would not recommend this property unless there’s some way to verify that it is being properly maintained, cleaned, inspected, and sanitized between guests. Do not rent this place.

Wonderful beach getaway
Our family of 5 plus one furry friend had an awesome time at this house. There was plenty of room for us to spread out and our kids enjoyed the toys provided. It did not feel super clean but we had a great time and enjoyed the close location to the beach and the nice ocean view. All in all, a great place!

Cozy Beach Home
Just the right size for our group of 8. Everyone had their own bedrooms. Kitchen was well equipped. Just missing a coffee grinder. Close to Beach and Manzanita shopping. Outdoor shower was nice to find. It needs to be tightened at the connection as it was leaking. The best part was it was close to the Beach. Good times!!

Highly Recommended Place to Stay!!
This home was incredible! Perfect for our group of 4 adults & 4 children - with lots of room to spare! All of the rooms were sizable & each with cozy, real beds & nice linens. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of our cooking needs - pots, pans, knives, bowls, coffee maker, spices, etc. There were extra towels & sheets tucked away in the closets. A washer & dryer (with laundry soap provided) was really nice for all of the sandy/wet clothes. The views from the windows were beautiful - you can see the ocean! Quick walking distance to the beach - although it is up a hill, so pushing or pulling a wagon is a bit rough. :)
Kid & pet friend place to stay. It is not fenced, but the yard is private enough there were no issues with the dog (or kids) staying put.
The house was really clean & there was easy contactless checkin.
Would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area. You will not be disappointed.
