The house was clean. We had everything we needed. The location was great for all of the sightseeing we wanted to do. The back deck was a very nice bonus. Jami was very responsive and checked in on us to make sure we had what we needed. She also left a list of dining and sightseeing options in the area. I would definitely recommend staying here.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This little bungalow was cute, clean, and just spacious enough to feel like home. The property managers were also incredibly helpful and communicative! Thank you!

My husband and I loved the location of your house! It was quaint and charming and ideally located in the heart of Rapid City. It was walking distance to restaurants and a close drive to Mt Rushmore, Crazy horse, custer state park, and the Badlands. It was nicely decorated and we enjoyed the back patio area too. The owners were a pleasure to work with and timely with any questions. Would def rent again! GREAT vacation!

The bungalow was perfect for out vacation to South Dakota. Close to downtown and walking distance to many good restaurants. Easy to access the interstate to get to the many different sites in the area. Really enjoyed our stay.

We were only at the house in the morning and at end of day and were quite comfortable. The outside is nothing special with entrance off the alley, but the inside was super clean with updated decor. Close enough to drive to Mt. Rushmore and Badlands. Came to see Chris Stapleton concert at The Monument and loved that we could walk there. All in all a great week!

This unit was really cute and comfortable. It is well equipped and a great location for exploring the national parks during the day and nice restaurants downtown at night. The hosts were very responsive when I asked to check in early.

So clean! Always the best welcome for weary travelers. Perfect location to be near town and then to visit Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park. Beautifully decorated with a lovely private deck in the back. Highly recommend staying here.

This property is cute and convenient! So close to many fabulous downtown eating and drinking spots and super easy access to all of the must see spots in this area of South Dakota. Easy daily drives to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Spearfish, Deadwood, Sturgis, and the Badlands. Jami and Matt were the perfect hosts and provided an amazing list of restaurants and sites to see on the area. I highly recommend this home.

We enjoyed our stay in Rapid City. The rental unit was comfortable and close to all area attractions, plus walkable to downtown restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Great place! Nicely decorated and overall very comfortable feeling. Only negative thing, would be that internet is way too slow. Since tv uses internet, once a couple users go online, it creeps to a halt at times. Overall, great place!

My wife and I had a great stay at this comfy cottage!
Scheduling, check in, check out, well equipped kitchen, cleanliness and proximity to down town Rapid City were great!
Only one small drawback was lack of blackout curtains in the bedroom.
If you are looking for a great place for you and a significant other that is close to downtown and the SD Mines campus, this is it!

Walking distance to all that downtown Rapid City has to offer, and easy access to the other Black Hills attractions! The accommodations were clean and inviting. Highly recommend!

The house is just as advertised. Tastefully remodeled and well maintained with newer appliances, dishware, and utensils. The A/C unit did a wonderful job keeping the entire house cozy. The property honestly had everything that we needed to make it a home-away-from-home during a week spent visiting so many wonderful and iconic sites in SD (with a brief excursion into WY). The area was conveniently and centrally located to everything on our list. Day trips included Sturgis, Devils Tower, Deadwood in one direction; Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer SP, Keystone, Wind Cave and more(!) in another; and the Badlands and Wall Drug in a third. Rapid City itself is clean – and friendly – and simply a great place to visit. The president walking tour was a nice surprise that we didn’t know about before our visit. We also visited the Stavkirke (Chapel in the Hills) and took the black hills gold factory tour.
Check in and out was easy as pie. Jami was super accommodating and checked with us a few times over the course our stay to make sure that we had everything that we needed (which we did 😊). Thanks so much for helping to make this one of our most memorable vacations!

Adorable Bungalow in the heart of Rapid City
This adorable bungalow was perfect with the updated interior, very comfortable bed, bedding, pillows, etc. Outdoor space was perfect as a meet up spot as our friends rented the bungalow directly behind this unit. Home is nicely appointed with ample shampoo, soaps, toilet paper ( the good stuff - soft Charmin!), towels, coffee (unexpected), etc. It was the perfect bungalow for our visit back to where we grew up. Thank you so much.

Rapid City - Artistic Hub
This property was perfectly located to explore the beauty of the Dakota Badlands. The nearby downtown has great restaurants and galleries. The cottage was recently decorated and had everything we needed to live comfortably during our stay. The owners are awesome and caring. Highly recommend.

Directions on VRBO
We had a very hard time finding this place because in caps lock the directions said DO NOT USE GPS. There were zero directions listed on how to get there from airport. That would have very helpful since we had never been there. After driving around we called and the person said it was fine to use GPS after in directions it said not to. Very confusing. This is something that is very basic to new people in town to have accurate directions to location.

This was a good location to use as a home base to see all the sites in the area. The toilet was leaking when we got there, it was usable, there were parts left in the bathroom for the repair so it's obvious the problem was there before we arrived, it was repaired the 3rd day we were there, I think this should have been done before we arrived. Also the dark, wood look laminate floors through out look nice but they were dirty, we couldn't go bare or stocking footed without our feet/socks turning black. Some of the dishes were dirty too. There were plenty of wash clothes and bath towels but only one hand towel for the bathroom, at least one more would have been nice.

We stayed for 3 nights to take in the sights of Mt Rushmore and the surrounding area. We were happy with the overall stay. Would recommend if you are looking for a stay in the sea.

We must be the odd ducks when it comes to this property. We were excited to stay here after reading all the great reviews, but our stay was less then stellar. The location is perfect for accessing downtown Rapid City. The rental was very clean, and newish. However, there were some household and maintenance issues that needing attending, and the manager made us feel like we were in the wrong for letting her know about them. Her responses included saying they fixed issues at the end of the (rental) season, otherwise they would lose days available to rent the property if the issues were addressed outside of that time frame. For example, when we arrived, the toilet would not stop running. We were not only bothered by the sound but also we didn't want their water bill to be astronomical. This turned into a big fiasco; we were told someone would come the next day to fix the problem, but were not given a name or time this person would show up, so I asked to be texted so I knew. No text came, and when we returned to the unit later in the afternoon, we knew someone had been there because toilet parts had been left on the sink, but the toilet had not been repaired. Later that evening, a gentleman who did not identify himself showed up. First, he let himself in to the front door, but when he found my spouse in the restroom, he left without explaining who he was, or why he just entered the unit. Then he walked around back to where I was on the deck, and again without identifying himself, began to question me about the toilet and if we knew what was wrong with it, why didn't we just fix it ourselves. It was at this point I asked who he was, and he provided me a first name only. He did not fix the toilet; he told us to just turn the valve off when we weren't using the toilet. He was somewhat confrontational, and it was overall a very uncomfortable situation. We never felt comfortable after that; we had no idea when someone would just walk into the unit, unannounced despite the doors being locked. There were other issues as well: the shower curtain was sized for a single stall shower and was too short for the tub/shower combo, a towel holder had been ripped off the wall, the couch is stained and needs cleaning, there was no mattress cover on the bed, the blinds had missing slats, the fence had fallen over and was leaning against the living room windows, the microwave was missing parts and wouldn't work properly, there was no broom or vacuum...Not a good stay.

Guess we should have booked at the beginning of their season instead...

Carmen is a very concerned and responsive owner. She checked in with us after a couple of days to make sure all was ok. She responded within an hour or two to any questions we had during our stay. The cottage, while looking a bit rustic on the outside, was very modern inside. The bed was very comfortable, a big comfortable couch in the living room faced a large screen TV. Kitchen was well equipped and stocked with the exception of not having a dishwasher. A number of reviewers took exception to the A/C. We found the window unit was sufficient to keep the cottage cool. We had three 100+ degree days, and with being vigilant about keeping window/shades and doors closed it was kept comfortable. A small portable "swamp cooler" in the bedroom was the perfect supplement to keep all rooms cool. The location is very central to all that Rapid City has to offer. Mt Rushmore is within 25 minutes, and Crazy Horse is 35 minutes. Air Force museum is 15 minutes. Lots of coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance. We definitely plan on using this property in the future when we come to Rapid City to visit kids and grandkids.
