About this house rental
Kanana is Redgate Forest Retreat's newest addition and can accommodate up to 7 people. Quality marri furniture and fittings throughout provide a beautiful space for friends and family to relax. A large trampoline provides hours of fun for children and adults alike. The large back yard is fenced and welcoming for furry family members.
Inside, the master bedroom is a generous size with a kingsize bed, ensuite and great views to the plantation. The second bedroom and the main bathroom were designed for wheelchair access with generous spaces for easy access and quality fittings. The third bedroom can be set up with three long single beds or a kingsize bed and long single bed - whatever set-up suits you.
The lounge area boasts a 50" LCD wall-mounted tv complete with dvd/bluray player, Foxtel and an HDMI connection should you choose to bring your own device.
The kitchen is spacious, modern and fully equipped with quality items.
The alfresco area at the front provides the best view, just catching the morning sun and in prime position to watch the sun go down. The bbq is under the large gazebo in the back yard with great views towards the plantation, across the paddock and towards the bush block.
Kanana Chalet is on 167 acres in the beautiful southwest region of Western Australia. It is 5 minutes from Redgate Beach, Leeuwin Estate, Voyager Estate and Watershed wineries, 10 minutes from Margaret River and 15 minutes from the local caves. The property itself has a small olive grove, a 70 acre bluegum plantation, paddocks with sheep and cows and a 50 acre natural bush area with trails.
Redgate Forest Retreat also offers Maya Homestead (accommodates up to 10 people), Wongin Chalet (accommodates up to 7 people) and Djarlma Chalet (accommodates up to 4 people) - great options for any combination.

Probably our favourite property we stayed at on our down south trip. Outdoor area was set up really nice and Was gated for the dog, which was awesome
Very serene, beautiful place to stay.
Only complaint would be that even to get a coffee, you had to drive to a coffee shop to get anything. Nothing was really walking distance and there wasn't a coffee machine or anything (not that we found) at the premises.
The 2nd bathroom Was quite unattractive and looked like a disabled bathroom. Ie shower, toilet and everything just open and weirdly done. We all used the ensuite bathroom for this reason.
Awesome that the bedrooms had blackout curtains - this is a big deal for our holidays... our family is very light sensitive and gets up wayyyy too early if there's too much sunlight coming in the room.... which ends up really ruining your trip as everyone is too tired to do anything.
Would definitely stay here again though!

We had a beautiful stay with our family at the property! Matt came and greeted us when we arrived and gave us some great recommendations of places to check out nearby! The property was great for our pup - she loved the lambs and cows and all the open space to run free 🥰 Sheila was such a great host and we'll definitely be back and recommending to our friends!

From the moment we arrived we felt like it was a home away from home. It was far enough away for peace and quiet, but close enough to anything we needed or wanted to do.
Highly recommend and can't wait to book again!

A peaceful feel at a perfect place to relax and enjoy with friends and family. Great host who put lots of effort and thought into making us feel welcome. The place is very well set up for our needs. Highly recommendable.

Sheila welcomed us when we arrived and we were able to ask a lot of questions about the property and surrounds, very friendly, the house was amazing ! We loved being able to go into the paddock with the cows, walking around the property through the forest and so close to everything. We will 100% be rebooking for another girls trip. Thank you Sheila !

Had the most amazing stay. The accomodation is such a high quality and has everything you need for your stay. If your travelling with dogs it is the best pet friendly accomodation I have ever experienced. Good fences and plenty of yard space to play and explore.
We will be recommending it and will be back ourselves

Lovely location just far away from the other chalets.
Sheila gave us a hello call and was very friendly.
Bed was comfy as are the pillows, I even took one home by mistake....I gave it back.
Every appliance was first class, was expecting the toaster to even have a bite of my toast.
Will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Redgate and didn’t want to leave! The accommodation was spotless, had everything you could possibly need and was very dog friendly. Shelia was a fantastic host and extremely accommodating. We have definitely found our new go to property in Margaret River, we cannot wait to return!!

Relaxing farm stay
Beautiful and relaxing location. The house was very clean, comfortable. Beds And shower were excellent. Perfect place for families or group of friends. Communication with Sheila was quick. We felt welcomed with her visit. The only thing we missed was a better coffee (there were “coffee tea bags”). I would take my own coffee and coffee machine next time and some extra tea towels (only one available).

Absolutely stunning property!
This place is one of the best I’ve stayed at. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Caters extremely well for the disabled with wide rooms, hallways and doorways. The grounds are stunning and it’s not to far out from Margaret River town. The owner Sheila was extremely friendly and helpful and we would definitely like to come back. This place is 5 stars all round!

Peace and tranquility with all mod cons and it’s dog friendly...
We were very impressed with everything about this property. It is spacious, well equipped, clean and had everything we needed for our stay.
Sheila (the owner) sent extra information, including accurate directions, prior to our arrival and was on hand to answer any questions and ensure we were having a great time.
Sitting outside at either of the lovely outdoor spaces, watching the sunset, or the local wildlife, was great.
Having walks from the door around the plantations was also perfect for our Labrador.
All in all a great place to stay, would highly recommend it.

Home Away From Home
We were looking for a place to go where we could go out & no that our dogs (Westie & German Shepard) would be safe. It was perfect. All the other supposedly pet friendly places we called had no fences around the property so how is that pet friendly. This was truely pet friendly. Good fencing for the dogs. The house as well is amazing as it is good for the dogs & well set up for people as well. We even had the situation where our dogs wouldn’t sleep anywhere else but in the rooms with us. Now one of the rules is no dogs in bedrooms which is fair enough as they are carpeted. So when we suggested to the owner if we covered the carpets with sheets & blankets we bought down she was more than accommodating. We did make sure during the day though to shut the bedroom doors. Great views, great facilities & great person that runs it. You are awesome Sheila & we will be back.
