Beautiful view
This small cottage had a beautiful view and met our needs. Acorns hitting the metal roof were a little loud but we got used to it.

Amazing, relaxing getaway
The view alone is worth the trip. The owners are incredibly nice and so is her staff (Joe, maintenance guy and Jennifer, house keeping both are great). There are a few things I feel like people should know prior to coming. The driveway is VERY steep. We travel a little different. We prefer to cook most our meals so this may not affect everyone. The fridge is a dormitory fridge, so we brought an extra cooler (pain to get ice every other day) there really isn't any storage to put things. The table and chairs worried me at first (big booty Judy here!) As alot of the furniture came from Ikea or thrift stores, but they were surprisingly comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, if you have hips at all ladies, it's hard to spread your legs! Lol The bed is a slatted wood Ikea frame , the mattress was nice and comfy. I loved waking up to see that giant rock every morning. We stayed a week and very rarely heard traffic, the sound of the river is exactly what my soul needed. The tin roof made rain storms delightful! However the first time we heard the little chipmunk in the attic storing his nuts it scared the heck out of me. He would drop them on the roof, then run over to an access point. We're from Michigan and this happens. Joe the maintenance man was on it! Overall we loved our stay, it's on the edge of a quaint, very small mountain town. We had absolutely no service till we got to town and we didn't mind at all. Make sure you head in with a full tank of gas.

The good: The house was in a great location for visiting Chimney Rock and Lake Lure! The bad: the bed was so terribly uncomfortable that even though we paid for 3 nights we only stayed for one night!

Pig In A Poke
Disappointing. Property totally misrepresented on VRBO. No warning of roadbed being in dangerous disrepair—requires high clearance vehicle to traverse. Adjacent properties look abandoned/ramshackle. Mattress worn out. Kitchen few useable utensils.

Lots of kudzu!
The pictures inside and outside of the cottage are up to date, including the amount of kudzu on the outside! The inside was clean and has a small updated bath with nice shower. The road up to the cottage is in poor condition and definitely would not be good for motorcycles. There is only one TV and it is in the bedroom on a side wall making it difficult to see. The river across the street is soothing but is often drowned out by traffic noise from the main road below the cottage.

Honeymoon stay
Loved our stay. There was not much noise from the road below. The river was louder than the road, lol. Loved the view of Chimney Rock mountain from the cabin. Would definitely stay there again

Still just as good
This was our second time staying here and it was just as good as before. Our favorite part is having breakfast on the deck as the sun rises.

Great location, owner responded quickly.
The location of the house was amazing! Close to chimney rock and you could hear the broad river from the deck. There were a few cleaning issues when we checked in, but the owner responded very quickly and had someone right there to take care of it. It is very small and storage in the kitchen is very limited, you may want to check that out before you stock up for your trip! Grocery store is not far away at all, so a couple extra trips is not an issue.

Absolutely beautiful home. The original plan for this trip was for me and my boyfriend to spend time for his birthday. However the timing, this location has provided some space to heal. The sound of acorns hitting the roof was a bit scary It always sounded like someone knocking on the glass door. It was nice watching the little lizards scurry on the deck in the morning not as cool killing spiders in the bathroom. There's a cute little town about a mile away with plenty of places to shop and the closest grocery store is 20 mins away. There is a lot of attractions near by as well. The drive way up was a bit harsh on my little corolla. I felt like I should have maybe rented a jeep but thats not really in anyone's control. If you're planning on visiting this location it has a beautiful view.

Week at Chimney Rock
We enjoyed our time at the property. At the wonderful rate, we did not expect luxury, but it was a pleasant stay. Would recommend some minor attention to detail to spruce up the property as well as different timeliness on communication around the time of check-in and check-out.

Nice little place for a weekend getaway
The driveway is steep and narrow, but the place is worth the climb. It is very near a town with a lot to check out. The river across the street makes some relaxing white noise while enjoying coffee on the deck. We will likely stay here again for next year's Carolinas Spartan Race.

Cozy retreat
Property was very clean and well maintained. The deck has an excellent view of chimney rock, we ate breakfast and while watching the sunrise.

Good Location
The cabin was clean but could use a little detail to make it even better. What the pictures don't show is that the blue ridge highway is at the bottom of the hill, literally 50 feet away. Traffic noise starts about 6:30. The bed has two mattress toppers and was a bit to soft for me. It would be nice to have the tv facing the bed.

EXCEPTIONAL!
A truly wonderful experience! Everything was exactly as shown and exceptionally clean with so many thoughtful and truly unexpected 'extras'. The owner was amazingly responsive, warm and gracious. The view of Chimney Rock and Hickory Nut Falls is the best one I have yet had. My husband and I soaked in the quiet and privacy of this wonderful little house; we will definitely be returning!

Perfect honeymoon weekend
The set up was perfect. They really catered to our romantic moment with roses candles and snacks with a delightful fruit platter. The view of chimney rock from our bed was simply stunning. Couldn't have asked for anything better! Thank you so much for your hospitality, can't wait to stay there again sometime. Oh and the little town was awesome, hiking was excellent!

Cute Little Cottage
Very clean little cottage with all amenities. Road noise during day but you probably won’t be there much during day. Lots of wildlife. We saw a bobcat walk past our bedroom window in the late afternoon, very exciting to see. The deck has amazing views and is equipped with a nice gas grill. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Had a couple problems with the internet going out but the owners were right on it. Would definitely recommend staying here. We hope to return again next year. Thanks!!
