About this house rental
Great house located in the village of Avon, along the Outer Banks Scenic Byway. Avon is just south of one of the longest stretches of unspoiled National Seashore on the Outer Banks. We continue to make updates and improvements both inside and out. Our comfortable, clean home in family friendly Kinnakeet Shores is ready for your beach getaway!
Sea's Calling is just a quick, easy walk to the beach, and close to community amenities, shopping, and dining. We're just a short drive from the "Canadian Hole," an epic kite boarding and windsurfing spot. The famous Cape Hatteras lighthouse is minutes away. Renting from Saturday to Saturday weekly during June, July and August, and with a four night minimum during other months. Sea's Calling features dual zone AC and heat for your comfort. With beds for eight, three decks, lots of outdoor seating and two picnic tables for outdoor dining, our house is perfect for a relaxing family vacation.
Enjoy your morning coffee on the upper deck overlooking a view of Kinnakeet Shores and Hatteras Island. Spend your day at the large private community pool, playing tennis or pickle ball, surf fishing, or just "beaching it." Stroll for miles along uncrowded Atlantic Ocean beaches, collecting seashells and observing nature. Sit on the rear deck at sunset and enjoy the beautiful colors in the western sky. An outdoor hot water shower will provide a refreshing way to wash off the sand and salt as you end your day outdoors. In the evening, sit on the upper deck and be amazed by the stars above.
When you arrive at Sea's Calling you will enter the lower level which contains a washer and dryer for your laundry needs. The second level has two tiled baths and three tastefully decorated bedrooms. Fresh linens are provided for all beds and a basic bath towel set is provided for each guest. In the first bedroom you will find a double bed and two bunks. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress and ceiling fan. The third bedroom, the master, has a king bed with memory foam mattress, an ensuite bathroom, a ceiling fan, and its own doorway to the lower deck. Here you can enjoy a shaded area and the porch swing to read, relax, or grab some quiet time. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV and DVD player with DirecTV satellite access.
The top level features an open concept with a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious deck. Off the kitchen is a large vaulted great room with living and dining space and a half bath. In addition to the breakfast bar seating for 3, a pub-height dining table seats 6 people. The living room features a 49 inch TV and Blu-Ray player for your entertainment. TV service includes 140 TV and music channels. In addition, there are movies, puzzles, cards, books, and family games for you to enjoy. Outdoors, there is a horseshoe pit, fish cleaning station, and a patio with grill, seating, and a picnic table. We offer free WiFi throughout the house.
For the kiddos, we have a Pack N Play, attachable booster seat with tray, highchair, and umbrella stroller. There is a safety gate at the upper deck steps and collapsible ones for indoor use. There is a deck box with beach toys, beach chairs, and a beach cart. You'll find a cooler and tennis equipment for your use. And if you visit during cooler months, our electric fireplace will provide comfort and atmosphere.
Last but definitely not least, relax in our private hot tub, located for all-weather use, and refresh yourself from the day’s activities. Whatever the time of day you will love it! And our service company will clean upon your departure!

We enjoyed our week in Avon. The beach is a quick walk and we took advantage of the location daily. Food Lion is a mere 2 minutes away – perfect if you forgot something at the store. The community pool is large, with plenty of room for several families, and ideal for kids.
The house was nicely furnished, but the best part was the mattresses. Most vacation rental homes have cheap mattresses, but these are comfy.
Make sure you look for the giant snapping turtle in the water when you cross the pond bridge on the way to the beach!

Stayed at Sea’s Calling in Kinnakeet shores for a week in late April.
The home is easy to get to and centrally located. The owners really care about your stay and experience and are very responsive hosts.
Ahead of arrival they provide a lot of information about the home and also nearby attractions.
Each room has blinds to block out the very persistent sun for early mornings. There are outdoor decks on every level and also on opposing sides of the house which is great for the sun position changes and also for the wind. We found the outdoor deck access great for views and relaxing with a beverage or a snack.
Hosing any outdoor gear from sand is so easy, as is using the outdoor hot shower. We didn’t walk to the beach, but saw that a little cart is provided to cart the outdoor chairs. The cart would allow for easily walking for groceries back to the house.
Tennis equipment were provided and the house has many games and puzzles, movies, and a stereo.
The kitchen is really well stocked with all the basics and a great dishwasher for easily doing dishes. The layout of the entrance floor (first) then the bedrooms floor (2nd) and then the living room and kitchen open concept floor (3rd) works really well. We enjoyed the decor touches with “sea’s calling” and other mantras to help unplug.
The hot tub was great to unwind in. laundry was convenient. Bathrooms and bedrooms were fantastic.
Sea’s Calling has everything needed like home, and was clean to boot.
Thanks!

The house was very well stocked for a family vacation. The kitchen had so many supplies and we were able to make our own seafood boil feast! Would highly recommend!

We had a great family getaway for Thanksgiving! The house was in great condition and have everything we needed for our stay! The location is convenient to several restaurants and grocery store/fish markets. The hot tub was a hit with the cooler temperatures in late November. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent house to unwind.
Just need more trash bags and a few kitchen towels.
May want to update refrigerator and definitely need new beach chairs.
That’s only minor stuff - overall-great house for the two of us.

Perfect for our family with small children. My boys loved the puzzles, games, and beach toys. We appreciated the home having a high chair, baby gates, stroller etc so we did not have to pack all these items as well. We loved our stay in the "yellow house" as my three year old called it!

This was our first time visiting the OBX and we couldn't be happier with the location and amenities this property offered! Avon is much more laid-back than the Kill Devil Hill area, so it was quiet at night and very relaxing. The layout of the house made it feel much larger - I was nervous 4 adults and 4 kids would be all on top of each other, but we were very comfortable with so many sitting areas, inside and out.
The beach was easy to access, and the pool was a great option when we wanted a break from the sand. The kitchen had every appliance and utensil we could have asked for, with an abundance of herbs/spices leftover from previous guests. The Food Lion is an easy 2 min drive away (and a Duck Donuts). We have an EV and happily discovered a good charging station 5 min away. All in all a fantastic stay and we can't wait to return!

Overall, very positive experience. Our family would utilize this rental again in the future. House is very clean and well maintained. During our stay we experienced a plumbing issue, which was resolved in a matter of hours. Great service and communication from the owners and property management! Walk to the beach was 5 minutes. Walk to the pool was about 10-15 minutes, but you can also drive.

My family and I stayed at this property for a few days over Thanksgiving. The home is comfortable, but there were some cleanliness concerns. When we first walked in the home, we found several dead roaches. Thankfully, we didn’t see any live ones during the stay. I understand it’s the south and near water, so it’s understandable, but maybe the property manager or cleaning company should have checked it before we arrived. There was mold around the drains of the bathroom sinks, and the tubs would not drain well during showers.
The kitchen was well stocked for our Thanksgiving meal and other cooked meals. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Good communication prior to check in about what to expect. However, we were not aware bath towels were not supplied until a few days before arrival. Since we were coming in from out of town, we had to purchase towels before we arrived. When we arrived at the home, there were towels on each bed, so there was some miscommunication regarding this. Overall, a good trip and a comfortable place to stay. The cleanliness could have been better, but it didn’t impact the quality of the stay.

Candy was found in top bunk of bed. No DVD player in kids room and DVDs missing from cases. There were also ants in the kitchen. Other than that the stay was great 👍

The house was perfect for a mixed family vacation. There is enough space for private time and together activities. All the board games and cards were great entertainment on the rainy days.

Our first time visiting the outterbanks. Love it! My son and his fiancee had a beautiful wedding on beach in Hatteras, just a short drive from our house, in Avon. Renting the house for our group was easy. Vrbo is the way to go.

I absolutely love the location of this home! The hot tub and beds were wonderful. The kitchen was a perfect size and I loved all the decks. I wish I would have been able to stay longer so I could have grilled out and played horse shoes but the rain had it’s way. Board games were a nice touch for the rain days. Pool attendant was helpful and the pool itself was fabulous! Will definitely come back next year! Neighbors trash blew into the yard thanks to the wind and them putting it out on the wrong day, but that wasn’t a big deal. Tv had all the football channels! I recommend this home to anyone. Thank you!

We loved our stay at Seas calling. I feel its a good value point for a week long stay in OBX. You can pay a lot more to be closer to the beach, or do something a little more moderately priced like this. IF you have 4 Wheel drive, pay the $50 to get your drive on permit and just load up the truck with beach stuff and drive right on for an amazing time. You can get on the beach just south of the BP Gas station and Food Lion. I have stayed in over 20 houses in OBX over the past 35 years so I have some experience. This is a budget friendly house that has everything you need.
