About this house rental
The Coach House is ideally located in the heart of Biarritz making it possible to do everything on foot. The Miramar beach is less than 200 hundred meters away and in the other direction the Quartier St Charles with all the basics plus exquisite French produce from the Cremerie, Boulangerie, Charcuterie, local organic fruit & vegetables, coffee, and much more.
THE PROPERTY
The property was built in the 1880’s and is situated in an elegant, quiet residential neighbourhood surrounded by beautiful French Basque villas typical of the region. The unique architecture of the former horse stables and coach house lends itself particularly to two families travelling together as there are living quarters at either end of the house - the East and West wing.
THE ROOMS
The house is comprised of 6 bedrooms; 3 double, 2 twin, one single and 5 bathrooms. Three bedrooms are situated at either end of the house accessed by two separate staircases. One of the double rooms is on the ground floor with French doors leading out on to the garden. All other bedrooms have Juliette balconies overlooking the garden. Both sides of the house are joined centrally with a large sitting room opening on to the garden.
THE DISTRICT
The house is a 10 minute taxi ride from the Biarritz Pays Basque Airport. A five minute stroll from the house and you will find yourself at the Hotel du Palais where you can follow the road up through town to plenty of bars, shops and restaurants. There are golf courses, tennis courts, surf lessons all nearby. If you wish to visit Bayonne or Anglet there is a cheap and reliable bus service which can also take you to the many other beaches along the coast.
OTHER INFO
The house has a drive way which can accommodate a small car such as a Twingo (easy to hire). Street parking is free from Oct 1st to May 1st but paid for during the other months. The front gates to the house are lockable so the perimeter is secure for playing children, there is also a lockable gate by the pool. There are two washing machines with dryers at either end of the house, fibre optic broadband, two televisions, DVD player and plenty of surfboards. There is another outdoor dining arrangement which can be erected at the rear of the garden, as can childproof gates for staircases if required. Beach towels can also be provided.
