Our band played the Nannup Music Festival 2024 and we needed a place to stay that was close but had all the amenities we needed for our 4 day trip - and Chestnut Hill Cottage Balingup was absolutely perfect!
Would book again for sure if we're playing down there.

Stay a while!
Many people pass through Balingup, I would encourage you to stay a few days and enjoy this special part of WA! This property is perfectly situated on a quiet hillside with incredible views of surrounding hills - watch the fog roll over in the mornings or the milky way rise at night. The gardens are filled with beautiful trees, easy to spot many little birds, rabbits and kangaroos. The Bibbulman track is literally down the road (worth trying a small section along the river!), Golden Valley Tree Park 5 mins away, shops/centre of town an easy walk. With a full kitchen, spacious living area and bath, there's not much more you could want for a cosy few days away. I'll look forward to returning!

Spotless , and spectacular views across the Valley. Perfect get a way
The cottage was spotless, the beds were very comfortable and the furniture was very comfortable, our only thought was the appliances could do with an update the fridge/microwave need replacing as does the washer and dryer , the bathroom taps were a bit of a problem as they leaked quite a bit and considering the water shouldn't be wasted a washer is in order. We had a lovely time in the cottage the view is spectacular and overall it was a very cosy 4 days .....thanks

Picturesque Beauty
What a beautiful and perfect experience. The cottage was secluded and while it was an easy walk to town centre, you could not hear any traffic or disturbances. The fire easily warmed the entire cottage and the bath tub was so lovely to relax in. The vista over the groves through to the surrounding hills of Balingup was exquisite especially when watching the weather roll in from the comfort of the cosy fire. Another great feature was that the water was supplied from a huge rainwater tank and it was so pure and fresh tasting. Thanks so much Silvano and Mary for a blissful four days.

Peaceful paradise in Balingup
I’ve stayed at Chestnut Hill Cottage a couple of times before (both for around a week) and returned for a 9-night stay early in autumn because I find it such a comfortable, secluded, peaceful, and well-constructed cottage. Its wall of glass windows provides a beautiful and relaxing view of the countryside – whether you’re in the kitchen, dining area, or lounge. A bonus was having no problem with mobile phone reception (Telstra). While it’s secluded, the delightful Balingup township is only a 10-minute walk away. Chestnut Hill feels roomy, has a well-fitted out kitchen, good-size round dining table, comfortable lounge area, and a very effective wood heater (slow combustion). The main bed is very comfortable (with electric blankets) and the views from the main bedroom continue the peaceful and relaxing theme, looking towards the side and rear of the property. The hosts (I’ve mainly had contact with Silvano) are friendly, informative, and helpful and ensure there are a few in-season treats provided to help you feel welcome and add to the enjoyment. Excellent accommodation.

A little piece of heaven
The cottage is set amongst many many trees and an orchard, down a long driveway - you are not overlooked and cannot see other houses, so very private. It was hot in Ballingup on our stay, however the trees keep the house cool as do the breezes. There is air con, a great little kitchen with everything you need, overlooking the fields and the hills of Ballingup. It is a 10 minute walk into town to get your lungs working. The host is very considerate and has left everything you need for a wonderful relaxing stay

Excellent cottage, beautiful view, enjoyable stay
A couple of times each year I book a self-contained cottage or chalet for a week for a retreat or time-out stay – just for myself or with my partner. Chestnut Hill Cottage is one of the best places I’ve come across because of its excellent design, the quality of its furnishings and fittings, and the great location. The unique and comfortable design helps catch the morning sun from windows high-up and the front of the cottage – looking towards Balingup – is all windows, giving a beautiful view from the kitchen, dining area, and lounge. The kitchen is well-equipped and the wood heater (slow combustion) in the lounge area works brilliantly with barely any hint of smoke (very rare). While on a hill a short distance to the north of Balingup township (a 5- or 10-minute walk away), the cottage has a world-of-its-own feel, secluded amongst the trees. Owner Sil was friendly, helpful and informative. A very satisfying and enjoyable stay.
