This is our second stay at Stillhouse Hideway. This will always be our go to place to stay when visiting my inlaws! The space is so comfortable, nicely decorated and we love having the kitchen and washer/dryer. Amanda is a wonderful host and quick to answer any questions. We feel like the Stillhouse hideaway is our "home away from home" when we visit. We will be back!

This was a very clean, well planned out and spacious studio apartment, with a place for everything! The host, Amanda, husband Doug and daughter Emily were all very welcoming, kind and helpful in any way needed, always quickly responding to any questions we had. We had everything we needed for a 2 month visit!
Kitchen is well stocked, dishes, pots, pans, spices, paper products, many unexpected items. There was a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and fresh eggs in fridge, upon arrival, plus some snacks! A distillery/country store on their property makes Moonshine, homemade jams & jellies, we brought home for gifts, plus many other homemade items. We had their homemade chicken pies and fruit pies which were a must have....delicious!! The personal size pies are huge,1 will feed 2 people! The bed, sofa and chair are very comfortable.
We loved watching, and sometimes feeding, the chickens/roosters in pen near our entrance, many different kinds, each with own personality!!!
A great place for us to just relax and rest, very quiet and private! Very convenient for visiting many popular attractions. We enjoy Orange Blossom Opry in Weirsdale, they now serve burgers, hot dogs, sundaes, etc, wish we had known before attending, they looked delicious, new since we were last there!!
We could say so much more about this wonderful home away from home! We had our dog, was able to take her outside without a leash, she loved it there! We will return here if possible. Thanks again!!

This rental is amazing!! Very easy check in process, easy in and out and beautiful overall. Extremely comfy and feels like home. Everything was decorated nicely and very thought-out. We stayed over Christmas and the host even put up a little Christmas tree for us to enjoy during our stay which we thought was a cute touch. Very quiet on the farm and really fun to see the chickens in the morning. Get that country Florida feel but close to everything only a few minutes away. Don't forget about the Moonshine on the property, we bought several bottles to take home to family and it was great! Would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing and gorgeous vacation or even a staycation.

My husband and I stayed at the Stillhouse Hideaway while visiting my inlaws in Leesburg. The apartment is wonderful...very clean, well stocked kitchen, nicely decorated, comfortable beds, washer and dryer....really everything we needed! The apartment is located in the barn of a working farm which we loved! There is a shop on the farm that sells pies, cheese, their moonshine and more. It is also within walking distance of Yalaha Bakery and Lake Harris. Amanda is a wonderful host! She was so accommodating and communication was excellent! Overall, our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area!

We have had a couple stays here and had a nice time. It’s only a short walk from Lake Harris and steps from the Yalaha bakery. The little shop the owners run is cute and has tasty cheeses, moonshine etc.

Cute apartment above a barn like building. Nice working farm with chickens and ducks to watch if you like. No rooster though, so no early wake ups. Loved the experience and plan on staying again soon!

Amazing Stay!
This place is awesome! Beautiful property with a working Blueberry Farm and a country store on the property where you can buy all sorts of delicious pies, jams, moonshine and gift shop items. If I'm every back in this part of Florida I will absolutely stay here again if they aren't booked! Also, the frogs sing a lovely song at night that's much different from the sounds I hear in West Virginia!

Awesome environment
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was quiet and the place was beautiful. We were able to find nice little places to enjoy for food and drinks around the lakes, while we waiting for my daughters’ games. We were centrally located between all three field locations so it was perfect. The hosts were amazing. Also, the moonshine was tasty.

This apartment is a perfect retreat - owner is delightful.
This apartment offers a quiet retreat with every convenience you could want. But don’t skip the fun of visiting the distillery and neighboring bakery. Everyone we met was having fun doing their job. Great homemade salsa and jam - and moonshine is a fun experience!

Country Comfort
Didn’t think I’d find a little piece of rural heaven for my visit to FL, but that’s what is being graciously offered here. Hadn’t been to the area before, it’s a pleasant change from what I’ve become used to in the Orlando area. The studio is an absolute delight, a lot of thought & TLC went into the decor. Really just lovely. Amanda couldn’t have been nicer, she took my 7 year-old grandkids for a little tour to see her ducks & chickens. She also sent my daughter home with a dozen fresh eggs, which was sweet. Very pleased with my week stay, not sure how it could have gone much better as far as accommodations go. Thanks so much for allowing me to enjoy your cool studio!

Stillhouse Hideaway
The cutest and cleanest loft. Very cozy and everything you needed was included. We were welcomed with fresh flowers and a basket of goodies. You must visit the distillery next door for the most delicious homemade blueberry and chicken potpies ever. The blueberry moonshine wasn't too bad either😊. The staff were some of the most friendly people.

We were at the stillhouse hideaway for 20 days and enjoyed watching the chickens and the workings of the blueberry farm and Terry at the distellery was helpful when buying product. Talking with Doug was also very interesting. Overall was a relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Above and beyond
The property was very clean comfortable and accommodating as listed. The best part of the trip was Amanda her husband DOUG and the family they are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Doug went above and beyond when we had an issue with our motorcycle this is totally a full-service property he was a lifesaver. We have been fortunate to stay at many properties throughout our country and this is by far our favorite. We are looking forward to returning in the near future.

Felt Like Family!
What a wonderfully unique place to stay in Yalaha! Off the beaten path, but right next door to a delicious bakery/deli and some of the best barbecue we've eaten right on the property on the weekend! We were graciously welcomed at the distillery for check-in and felt right at home the remainder of our stay. The apartment has recently been remodeled and is beautiful! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals at home, and the country store on the property has a nice selection of drinks, snacks, gifts, and moonshine! Amanda and Doug were great hosts, we hope to return for a future visit!

Relaxing getaway
My husband and I are on a road trip and decided to stay a few days at this farm. Yalaha is a nice little town (that we learned was growing quickly!) The owners were out of town so we didn't get to learn about the farm or distillery, but we enjoyed exploring on our own. Our adventures included walks in the woods and to the lake, sampling all of the flavors of the farm's homemade moonshine and goodies in their farm store, enjoying music and baked goods at the German bakery next door, a wonderful tour of Howey Mansion, a winery tour and tasting at Lakeridge and dinner overlooking the lake at Boondocks. Everyone we met was so friendly and helpful. The apartment had everything we needed and was quiet and peaceful. They even left a basket of goodies for us! We would definitely return again.

Sooooo Relaxing
Amanda and Doug are amazing hosts. Although I didn’t spend time with them, they were ALWAYS looking out for my safety.
When I failed to arrive home one evening, Amanda contacted me to ensure that I was safe. I had made last minute plans to go fishing with friends in Steinhachee. That compassion and concern was so unexpected. My husband, who was not traveling with me was truly impressed.
The chickens are so funny. Every time I pulled up to the rental they ran to the fence to ‘greet’ me. See a human, must have food. 😂
If you visit, don’t fail to visit Amanda and Doug’s retail store. You may think it is strictly blueberry alcohol related but it isn’t. A myriad of jams, pickles and local products are there for you to purchase.
Thank you Amanda and Doug for a wonderful visit. See you in November.

Very Comfortable Accomadations!
This was our 2nd stay with Doug & Amanda's property. Just right for us...very clean with everything one would need for a visit. Nicely appointed kitchen, comfortable bed, and all the necessities one would expect. Charging cord for my Bass Boat and close to Hickery Point Ramp for boat launch onto Lake Harris.

Cozy and relaxing
The loft apartment is cute and clean. The setting is quaint and quiet. The owners were amazing to deal with. Their blueberry farm and distillery were very entertaining. The German bakery next door is an added bonus. I enjoyed the short walk to the scenic lake a few times during our stay. The apartment had everything we needed. I can't wait to stay again!

Nice Quiet Location
Great location to all the area attractions. Comfortable accommodations and everything we could possibly need for our stay including a wonderful welcome basket of vegetables, honey and jam!! Owners were available if needed, but left us alone to enjoy our vacation. German Bakery next door was awesome and you have to stop by the distillery and sample their different flavored moonshines!!! Best blueberry and apple pie I've ever had!!! Thank you for your hospitality!!!

Saved my son's trip
My son and his fishing partner hit a snag with accommodations booked by a team manager. When we reached out to see if the property was available on short notice, the owners immediately jumped in to help them out so they could focus on their tournament and mom and I could relax. The loft and location were great, but they don't hold a candle to the owners. Super folks, absolutely super. BTW, definitely visit the store, the spicy pickles were a hit.

Peaceful and quiet -- great 'time away' location
We were very happy with this little hideaway for our stay. It is tucked away with plenty of privacy and quiet time. Everything we needed in one spot, it met our expectations perfectly. It is close to all the attractions near Orlando, and small town amenities as well. The owners are very welcoming and gracious -- we enjoyed learning about their farm. Great place to stay. Thank you!

Stillhouse Hideaway
Who would ever think that a farm studio apartment could be so wonderful! What a surprise to walk up a few stairs in a 1928 barn and see a cozy and clean abode that would be our home for a month. The place was furnished with everything--we mean everything! One could walk right in and it was home. We were also welcomed with a bouquet of flowers on the kitchen counter and a basket of vegetables and jams on the table. The location was great for us, near friends and favorite dining places. We would definitely stay there again. (Even the chickens in the pen next door were friendly. One time as we pulled up to park, they all came running to greet us!!! Sadly we had no food!) For a quiet and serene get-a-way, this is the place.

Hideaway lives up to its name
So relaxing and cozy. Our little dog, my husband and I enjoyed the nice long walks through the blueberry fields and surrounding area. We also enjoyed the delicious treats from the bakery next door and the Still. Doug, Amanda, and Grace were generous and thoughtful hosts.

Great Place To Stay
Our stay at the blueberry farm was more than we expected. We loved the studio apartment that had everything we needed. It was beautifully decorated and so clean and inviting. Driving down the road set the tone for a truly country feeling. We were greeted by the chickens in their pen and the rustic decorations and welcome signs at the door. We are older and the stairs were short and doable. The kitchen had everything we needed. The cable tv and internet were great. I had a Zoom conference call one evening and it went without a glitch. The 2 beds were comfortable and we loved the quiet for sleeping. We never heard the chickens as they were away from the beds but enjoyed seeing them when we came in and out.
Our hosts were amazing. They coordinated our checkin, met us when we arrived, talked to us many times as we walked around and responded to whatever we needed. We loved learning about the farm and quaint distillery. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed walking to the Bootlegging Shop and tasted, learned about how it’s done, and bought some delicious pies, pottery mugs, and blueberry moonshine. Of course, we also walked to the German Bakery for breakfast and it was hard to make choices. Mmmmm. We were there on the weekend, so we also enjoyed listening to the musicians.
We are already discussing when we can come back and look forward to another stay. What a wonderful, restful place to be.

City meets Farm Life
This barnyard apartment was a fun stay for a couple of "City Slickers". We thought this would be a great place to stay for our Thanksgiving holiday. We ordered a head a chicken pot pie, for our day of arrival from the little bake shop. It was delivered soon after arrival. So yumny and a easy supper. We loved having the chickens just below and watching them file into their coop at night fall. We had a room with a view. The kitchen was great and I made a full Thanksgiving dinner using disposable tin baking pans. The weather was perfect so we kept the windows open with screens the entire time. It was like being in a tree house or screened porch. It is very "farmish". Not fancy but just what we needed. Amanda and her daughter Gracie both met us at check in and gave a walk through along with other local information. The hired help in the bootleg company were also friendly. I bought a bottle of moonshine to bring home. We came home from a dinner out to find a dozen fresh eggs on the porch with a nice note from Amanda. I walked next door to the German Bakery for a great breakfast and came home with some goodies for later. The living area was cozy with comfortable sofa and easy chair. We watched the Macy Thanksgiving Day Parade and three football games. There is a great Publix grocery store three miles down the road. We were in the country surrounded by blueberry fields but yet close to everything we needed. We had a great dinner at Boondockers on the lake. It was a short drive. We ate on the patio overlooking the lake. We will return to enjoy a relaxing place on the farm. Thank you to Amanda, Gracie and crew for the great hospitality!

Awesome place perfect for a trip with friends
Amanda is a wonderful host! My friends and I made a spring break trip to Florida and she made sure we had everything we needed. She kept us stocked with snacks and was quick to resolve any issues we had. We especially liked being so close to the bakery nearby and ate breakfast there a few days.

I felt the price of the place was high for what you get.
The bathroom was way too small for comfort. The owners were pleasant. The Yalaha bakery being so close was a plus!

We enjoyed our month visit!
My husband and I stayed at the Blueberry Farm for the entire month of April. We arrived on April 1st, Easter, from Pennsylvania. Amanda was ready for us after our 3 day drive, with the apartment looking inviting and a Welcoming gift basket filled with goodies.
Within a few days, our Shih Tzu was in distress and we turned to Amanda and Doug for help. They suggested their Vet in Eustis and off we went for excellent doctoring.
Having stayed a month, while looking for, and purchasing, a mobile home to become Snowbirders, we walked around the blueberry field daily, talked to the chickens every morning, ate the BBQ food on weekends, listened to the live entertainment, both at the Farm and the Yalaha Bakery right next door, enjoyed the Air Show over Mt. Dora Lake and many other events. As someone once said to me, there's always something to do in Florida, when it's sunny and warm.
As luck would have it, our settlement on the mobile home, extended our stay by 2 days, which Amanda and Doug graciously allowed for a very reasonable price.
Would we recommend staying here? We most certainly would! The apartment has everything you would want, or need and the McCormacks are very kind and helpful. We feel we now have new friends in the McCormacks. Thank you both (and Dave) very much for your warm, welcoming acceptance and hospitality! Bill & Millicent
