The perfect hideaway!

The hut is amazing! The garden it's enclosed in is perfect trees all around many different plants/bushes, it's lit at night outside with mini string lights which go off at 10pm. It is so quiet here. Chickens might want your attention in the morning 😀. They really have thought of EVERYTHING!! you could possibly need. Literally just turn up with your clothes only and you're good to go! The hosts were both the nicest you could meet, and the other residents in the village were all really nice! If you like to walk or drive around some amazing sights or just want to hide out from the kids at home for a few days this is your hut! P.s do not worry about it being cold in the slightest as there is a log burner with everything you need to keep extremely toasty 🥵😁! Thank you both and will definitely be seeing you and the animals again very soon!

Quaint, quiet and welcoming

The Wayside Shepherd’s Hut is set in the garden of a thatched cottage. The setting is gorgeous with fairy lights in the trees, and it’s clear a lot of thought has gone into the property. The host was friendly and welcoming and made sure we were settled in before leaving us to our stay. The facilities include a small fridge and freezer, 2 burner hob with a grill and oven. Although the hut is very small, it is comfortable. There seems to be everything you need to cook meals if you wish to, but there are places to eat nearby if you prefer. The bed is comfortable. The settee is snug for 2 people, but there is also a picnic table and chairs outside along with a small bench and sun loungers. Inside there is a foldaway dining table and chairs. The shower and loo is in a small separate building, and are clean and provide soap, shower gel etc. if you need them. There is also a small wood burner, but we didn’t need it as the weather was warm.

We didn’t find anything we didn’t like, but if you’re not used to camping / glamping you may find it fairly snug. It is exactly as described - a shepherd’s hut. Don’t expect a large caravan!

Fabulous little home in the forest.

Loved the location and the whole experience. We've been through a lot these last few months and need peace and to relax. Ideal for us..

Well equipped. Private space in garden. Half bottle of Prosecco much appreciated. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Friendly host. Great location for Beaulieu Motor Museum which was the reason for the stay. Loved the very friendly chickens.

One burner on the hob would not light. Smaller than pictures suggested. For elderly folk who need to go to the loo in the night this was not the best place to stay as the one near the wall had to climb over the other waking up partner in the process.

Relax and cozy stay at the shepherds hut

Really nice hut with a cozy fireplace, had all the amenities. We were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine, there was milk in the fridge and breakfast cereal available as well as coffee, so we felt really well taken care of. The hosts were very flexible too. The environment is beautiful, it's the perfect weekend away to cozy up

The bed was a tad uncomfortable for us as it had a big dip in the middle

Fabulous and restful.

All just fantastic, the host's were lovely, the chickens were lovely and the dog too :) The location was very quiet with birds in the bushes outside in the morning, local shop and pub within walking distance. Had a fantastic time, thank you very much. Elizabeth Will be returning without a doubt.

It was all really lovely and there is nothing that springs to mind that could have been any better. :)

Wonderful cosy hut in the middle of the New Forest

Really cosy hut in a fantastic location right in the middle of the New Forest. Lovely hosts who welcomed us when we arrived. Village shop and pub on the doorstep and great walks. Perfect also for kayaking on the river and biking. We had a lovely stay.

The shepherds hit was a joy to stay in the wood burner made it lovely and cosy, there was everything that was needed in the kitchen. overall a really enjoyable stay.

Fantastic stay in a unique place.

The hosts went above and beyond to solve an initial issue regarding the gas. The hosts even supplied a new electric single hob, kettle and exceeded all expectations!! I wouldn't have to think twice about booking again!

Just loved the quaintness and cosiness alsohow private it was despite being in someone's garden. We had visits from chickens a beautiful dog and cats in the distance. The hut is well kitted out and little touches like flowers processco milk cereals tea coffee all provided meant a lot. The trip to bathroom during night was interesting but facilities good. Extremely comfortable bedThe location is ideal for visiting this area we were here for a planned trip to auto jumble at Bieulieu Estate. Would come again.

Steve's surprise birthday treat.

Enjoyed the quiet location, it had everything we needed for a few nights stay. The setting was ideal to hide away and have some proper relaxation. Being greeted by the premises security, three crazy chickens was added bonus. We loved the girls greeting us every day.

Forgot to bring slippers the walk to the shower/loo was bit painful without shoes.

A short stay but very relaxing. Lots of sights to see nearby and lots of ponies and donkeys

The hosts were always busy but always very friendly and helpful. The hut and facilities were very clean and the location was great. Lovely touch with proccecco in the fridge and wild flowers picked and placed in small in vase in kitchen area. There are 3 chickens there that greeted us every morning and whenever we returned to the hut. They loved crushed cornflakes !! We would definitely recommend a visit here. Dawn

Very friendly, quiet garden location with all the facilities we needed for a short self catering break away very close to the National Motor Museum and free roaming ponies.
