About this apartment rental
An Impossibly Romantic Little Gothic Palazzetto, where every day of your stay feels like February 14th!
Fairytale-gorgeous in appearance, rich coral in colour and steps from Campo San Barnaba in arty Dorsoduro, this newly-refurb’ed apartment is one of the prettiest we’ve set eyes on and features a darling rooftop terrace and bewitching canal views.
Close to some of the finest sights that Venice has to offer including the Accademia Bridge and Galleries and the spectacular Zattere promenade, Ca’ Romantica sleeps 6 guests in a dreamy vintage setting in which contemporary elegance takes the place of OTT Venetian style
Boasting 3 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms behind its antique exterior (note the envious side-glances of those crossing the adjacent bridge!) Ca’ Romantica’s air-conditioned accommodation is reached via a characterful internal courtyardand comprises –
A staircase rising to the 1st floor of the Palazzetto where double doors open to reveal…
· A charming central ‘salone’/dining room of traditional Venetian layout with sparkling terrazzo underfoot, a tall beamed ceiling with a splendid glass Murano chandelier shining above a contemporary dining suite seating 6, and wonderful Gothic ‘bifore’ windows opening onto a dainty ivy-festooned Juliet balcony overlooking the tranquil Rio Del Malpaga canal and the little bridges to either side
· A tastefully furnished sitting room with ample comfy seating, tall ceilings, terrazzo flooring, a view over the canal to the fore and walls hung with vintage prints.
· A small and perfectly formed kitchen to the rear - well-equipped for self-catering
· An attractive double bedroom with a double bed and a separate newly-fitted modern bathroom with shower serving the bedroom and the apartment overall
And on the opposite side of the central ‘salone’ –
· A spacious master bedroom overlooking the canal with a double bed and an en suite bathroom with bathtub
While a private flight of stairs leads up to the ‘icing on the cake’…
· A magnificent furnished wooden ‘altana’ rooftop terrace with its planters of oleander and views of the surrounding locale - simply perfect for pre-dinner cocktails and enjoying the sunshine and leading to…
· Ca’ Romantica’s 3rd double bedroom* (your own little love-nest where you can while away your time!) with a double bed and an en suite bathroom with shower both set beneath sloping wooden beams
· And completing the accommodation at this splendid Venetian home-base - a handy laundry room with a washing machine located on the ground floor
* Please note that this 3rd bedroom and its en suite bathroom are only accessible from the main apartment via the open-air ‘altana’ rooftop terrace!
OUR COMMENT
Palazzetto perfection in much-loved locale, which the VOV team is very proud to call home!
Within a gentle stroll of the Ca’ Rezzonico Museum of 18th century Venice, the Ca’ Rezzonico vaporetto (water bus) stop (with no bridges to cross in between!) along with some of our favourite restaurants and bars.
Steps to the Fondamenta Della Toletta - a pretty canal-side fringed with a bookshop, bank, the well regarded Enoteca Ai Artisti and the busy Bar Alla Toletta - the latter serving some of the tastiest tramezzini in town!
Also within easy reach of a well-stocked 2-storey Punto Simply supermarket at lively Campo Santa Margherita, the ‘Barca Della Frutta e Verdure’ fruit and veg boat moored on the Rio di San Barnaba canal (don’t forget your camera!) and the small shops of Campo San Barnaba for all your self-catering needs
For arrivals between 8.00 p.m. and midnight there is an additional cost for "late arrival" of Euro 50, to be paid in cash upon arrival. We organize arrivals between midnight and one o'clock with an additional cost of Euro 100, after this time we reserve the right to accept the customer always with a supplement to be quantified according to the time of arrival.

The apartment is stylish and comfortable. The terrazzo floors are beautiful. It's a great location. We really enjoyed our stay.

Our family is 6 enjoyed our 4 day stay in this rental.
The home was clean and well-maintained. The decor was elegant and inviting. The check-in and check-out process was straight forward.
The beds were comfortable and the views off the porch and balcony- beautiful.
The host was communicative, responsive and helpful!
The only surprise was us was that the 3rd bedroom is detached from the main living quarters. You access the standalone bedroom from the roof m-to deck. We had a couple of older teenagers who were able to sleep there, but it was inconvenient for them to have to go outside and be separate from the family.
The home is situated in small square with cafes, Da Vinci’s Museum, and little shops, There is a fresh fruit/vegetable market around the corner. You can arrange a water taxi to bring you to the square from the airport. So, almost front door service.
We would return to the spot without hesitation!

We traveled as a family of 6 and this property was a home run. I had a lot of questions and they were all promptly answered. I appreciated the offer of transport to the property. A great way to arrive!
The property was clean and really well laid out. We had four adult children with us and everyone had plenty of space.
The square has several Conveniences that were helpful. We loved the fruit boat and the small market.
Everything is an easy 15 minute walk. Frankly, with all of the eating we did, I was glad to have a little walk!
I strongly recommend this property!

Excellent location but quiet and very comfortable. No downsides.

Great location to walk to everything and the house is authentic Venice style - the host (views on Venice) are top notch and really go out of their way to make the stay great!

Great location. Fun to have outdoor space on the roof deck. We enjoyed the main apartment; with 2 couples, it worked well. We had one single adult using 3rd bedroom. We wished you didn’t have to go onto the roof deck outside, to get to the 3rd bedroom, however. Also, we wished the 3rd bedroom had a queen or king bed, instead of 2 twin beds. Bathroom associated with 3rd rooftop bedroom had such a small shower (with angled roof), it was impossible to stand up in there. My guest had to sit down in the shower on the shower floor. VERY awkward. Kitchen was well stocked with plates, pots, pans, utensils. Grateful for WiFi and air conditioning in the bedrooms.

Overall a lovely property with excellent location and beautiful aspect.
Aspects of the interior need updating, such as electrics in kitchen, which means some appliances couldn't work, and plug sockets around the apartment were of the older sort.
We had an issue with an alarm sounding, but this was dealt with promptly without affecting our stay.

Amazing property and fabulous host.

The property manager had made all arrangements to transfer from the train station to the property via water taxi. All luggage loaded and unloaded by team. Only a few steps from the water taxi to the front door of the property.
The property was spacious, meticulously clean and very quiet. What a gem and very reasonably priced.

The area is fun and young and not too crazy with some good bars for evening cicchetti very close by!

The location of this apartment in Dorsodoro is perfect to experience a Venice off the beaten path. No hoards of tourists. No tour groups pushing through your narrow alleys.
Quiet mornings with the noise of Venetians on their way to work; evenings listening to the chatter of people in the square and the sound of gondola paddles.
The apartment was well suited to our family of four. Loved having air conditioning in the hot summer. Enjoyed coffee on the balcony while watching the day unfold, and evening spritz the rooftop deck. Views were amazing. Kitchen was functional for our needs.
Management was super responsive and helpful; assisting with reservations and a boat tour with Marco - a highlight of the trip.
Highly recommend, and would return.

Great location and apartment
As always, the service was top. Super helpful. The apartment is beautiful and in a great location, close to everything, but still quiet and away from the main crowds. Will always return and thanks for the great time!

Another wonderful stay in a VOV apartment
The apartment was lovely. Had just about everything one would want and need for your stay. Great location! Appreciate VOV making the arrangements for our water taxi, being met at the water taxi drop off and absolutely with the help with our luggage. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. Good living space. The only caveat was the unpleasant smell in the hallway upstairs when you enter the terrace bedroom. We found that room to be unusable. Other than that, it was a perfect apartment for this occasion. We have already booked our return for next October for Ca' Cerchieri which we stayed in 2 years ago and loved. Many thanks for the excellent service your company provides.
A little more attention with the introduction of the apartment would be useful. We needed instruction in figuring out the heating in each room, which the technician that came over later was helpful in explaining. There was some confusion around the garbage, how to sort, when to take out.

3 Nights in Venice
We stayed at Ca’ Romantica in Dosoduro for 3 nights the first of October. The weather was terrific, pretty warm during the day but a light jacket at night. It is a fairly short, easy 15 min walk to the Accademia bridge but the best part is the 3 min walk to the Ca Rezzonica vaporetta stop. There are cute cafes and plenty of nightlife in this little neighborhood. It couldn’t have been more perfect for the three of us girls. The property management team from Views on Venice were great to work with and arranged a private gondola to the back of the La Fenice Opera House the night of my 50th birthday when we attended Madame Butterfly. They also arranged a private water taxi from the train station to the apartment when we arrived for €120. A private water taxi (which they also arranged)from the apartment in San Barnaba to the airport took about 40 minutes and cost €160. The only negative about this apartment in anyway are all of the steps. The third bedroom you had to go up more steps and go outside to get in which did not bother me but there was a bit of a musty smell and I think it’s because it’s closer to the clay roof and the eave space. There is a washing machine on the bottom floor as well as a utility sink and toilet with a drying rack above. All of the apartments and villas I rented had laundry detergent dishwashing soap and even detergent for the dishwasher. An iron and blow dryers for every bathroom was provided but we could never figure out how to plug these things in so be sure and inquire if you plan on using them There is also paper towels and coffee. an umbrella and even a little rolling cart for shopping. we even had products and gel for all of the bathrooms. The grocery store is an easy 10 minute walk across a little bridge that has wine and anything you would want. There is also a fruit and vegetable boat right in front of the apartment and a gondola stand. This apartment is three levels and has 5 doors (if using 3rd bedroom)so lots of keys and they are not marked so it was always fun to figure out which key went in which door. This apartment has a balcony and an upstairs terrace and we used both. It was so nice to have VOV to arrange water taxis and answer any other questions or details that we needed help with. They also provided a map at check-iin then circled important stops and helped us map out routes to places we knew we had to get to. This area, the apartment and Venice where very charming and safe. Just GO!!!!
