I loved the decor! It really was very special. My room had a beautiful 4 poster bed and a lovely view out onto the garden. It was very different from any b n b I’d stayed in before which made it a very special experience. There was water and a fresh bottle of milk in the fridge, an assortment of teas and a beautiful China tea cup and saucer.
It was so quiet in my room at night. There was no background noise at all to disturb your sleep.
The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had and the table was set out beautifully with silverware to make your experience the best it could be.

The accommodation decor was beautiful. My bedroom had a four poster bed and was luxurious. You were welcomed by the host who introduced us to his two friendly dogs. It is very much a dog friendly place.
There was nothing to fault

Welcoming hosts. Comfy room. Lovely breakfast. Lots of lovely little touches such as teapot in bedroom.

Very friendly hosts, nice central location, unique decor and style to the place. Bed was nice and comfy and the toilet / shower facilities were good.
To turn the lights off in the room meant hunting around for about 8 different switches for all the different lamps. I'm also not the biggest fan of incense/reed diffusers so smell may not be for everyone.

Lovely old house - beautiful furniture and luxury decor. Lots of attention to detail. Lovely and warm
We arrived in the dark and didn’t know if we could park inside the gates so had to knock to check it was the right place - not very well lit outside and no welcome instructions about arrival

I like the decor of the entire place! The hosts do anything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Spotless clean, Lovely garden and friendly dogs! 🙂 I would surely be staying only here if I ever go to Mansfield again. Highly recommend!
Hmmmm, let me think. The room felt very hot at night, but again, we stayed in a middle of July heatwave!

Nick was very welcoming and accommodating. We were able to sit in a lovely garden with a cup of tea when we arrived. Off road parking was available. The decor throughout the spacious house was exuberant. The breakfast was superb.
Wi-Fi in our room was poor, though strong elsewhere in the building and Nick was willing to move the router around to try and improve things for us. Personally I did not like having Nick’s dog wandering around the dining room, it could easily have been kept back though I understand that they hold themselves out as dog-friendly

We were warmly greeted and taken on a quick tour of this beautiful home. The decor is amazing, large rooms with large en-suite and everything you needed. Off street parking and a great breakfast and service. We will easily be returning again.

Wonderfully exuberant, creative, original place: furnishing, decoration, lighting, music, everything.
Outstanding breakfast.
Our host Nick is a remarkable talent with a fascinating life story.
I suppose the quirkiness of the place won't be for everyone, but we loved it.

Lovely room, breakfast and hosts.
Location is very handy for the town too
How water on the sink taps wasn't great and I thought there was a problem with the shower, but it was just that it took a while to get hot.

The hosts were fantastic and accommodating, the house is a spectacular museum piece. Off street parking with a secure gate is nice. Comfy beds.

The drama start on the arrival 3pm. The gate locked by padlock (first impression) . For few minutes nobody answer the phone ,finally gate open 15.15. Walking towards the building on pavement on green slippery slime . Finally in the room on the 1st floor - very strong heavy smell of many odour eliminator/fragrance diffuser etc. Small running fan heather on the floor . I ask to remove all of the diffusers. 4pm i go out (i cannot lock the room because there was no key )and come back 6.30pm where on the ground floor corridor i meet big dog which friendly jump on me and scratch painfully my leg . After short conversation with very nice old lady about the breakfast i went to my room . The room was frozen (external temp 9C) . I was keeping jacket on me waiting when the electrical small heather will warm the room . The floor in bathroom ice cold -the main fuse switch for the UFH switched Off that the thermostat was not working. No radiator in the bathroom but anyway the radiators in the room where cold all night. After while the room become warmer that was chance to go to bed . I did not take shower this evening in frozen bathroom . The room was full of dust but not on the surfaces ,the dust everywhere -on the heavy curtains , on the bed frame ,on the bed fabric canopy, on the 6 table lap in the room - everywhere where it is not easy to clean. I couldn't stand the smell in the room and wake up 4am ,5am I decide to spend time in McDonald than be longer in the smelly room. 5.30am i left the room(wooring how I will pass the 2 big dogs ) I stuck front of the main gate because the padlock was back again and no other way out of the property . Back to the door which you cannot open from outside and banging on the door . Finally 5.40am out of the property blowing my nose, still feeling the stench from the room mixing with the fresh morning air.
Should I pay for this night ?

Loved the welcome, attention to detail and quirkiness!

Beautifully decorated clean Victorian property full of style and interesting features. Nick was lovely and cooked us a tasty breakfast, went out of his way to make sure it was perfect. Even got me gluten free food. Nick on mentioning we had wine for our anniversary and needed to chill it, promptly arrived with silver tray, bucket of ice and glasses. Spot on service. Our room was kitted out with everything we needed including a large fridge. See photos. Lovely on-suite with walk in shower. Millie the beautiful friendly dog was around to give you attention if you want it, very sweet.
The weather could have been better but obviously Nick could not fix that although I feel if he could he would.

We very much liked the tasteful interior design of the b&b, the most comfortable pillows of the holiday, the friendly staff (and dogs of course), and the delicious breakfasts.

Definitely value for money
Everything was lovely

Friendly and helpful hosts. Very welcoming and accommodating: to give us the downstairs bedroom for our ‘we need a little space dogs’ and staying up late to welcome our daughter arriving late. Breakfast was a treat. Nick made super breakfasts, and gave great advice for dog walks, Alex kept us right and checked up on our needs and Philip makes a mean steak-pie at the wedding venue and I’d like to steal his recipe. Their dogs are simply beautiful and well behaved. Garden a dream and has a park behind the house to exercise dogs.
If I had one criticism, the room was a tad warm, but we were staying in July. Our dogs were relaxed, we were happy and we were made to feel welcome. Thank you so much for going out of your way to get the berries for my cousin’s breakfast and the gluten free yummy sausages for our daughter.
Good choice of hot drinks in the bedroom.
Leaving the wedding cake in the fridge in the bedroom - sorry

Lovely quirky B&B - we loved our stay in the garden room. Nick was the perfect host and his attention to detail is second to none, his breakfast is one of the best we've had. The location was perfect for us too and close to the town. Highly recommend Ravenscroft.

WELL lack of privacy, wasn’t able to lock our door, we were advised that the previous guests had taken the key home with them.
the owner entered our room and threatened us with the police and told us to leave for having sex 😂

It was one of a kind. So wonderfully idiosyncratically decorated. In immaculate taste yet cosily quirky, incredibly comfortable and enormous fun. And Nick and Philip were the most wonderful, talented hosts. Great breakfast!
