The location was beautiful and location to the beach was wonderful
The staff initially did not have the bell help us settle in with our luggage we had to track them down to get help ourselves. The rooms looked old and because of that they didn’t look clean, the grounds were not kept up, the main restaurant was only open for breakfast, the bar and grill only had limited food options, the pool area was not open and we were not offered a a discount due to the renovations to pool area, whenever I called the main number for assistance the phone went a recording and voicemail that could not take messages

Beautiful location. The food at Saman was excellent
The front desk staff. They were rude and unwilling to help us when our water stopped working. Never offered to get someone to help us with our bags.
4.5 / 5.0
Beachfront location, beautiful place and beach, lots of amenities including a nice pool, a couple of restaurants and game rooms. Chairs at the beach were really nice add on. The staff were friendly.
The WiFi wasn’t working in the room. It’s a big down. Breakfast is INCREDIBLY expensive for what it really is. I wouldn’t recommend anybody to have breakfast at that location. Either buy some product at the supermarket and make sandwiches at the room or go somewhere else.
The pool was a little bit muddy. Need maintenance.

The beach and Mountain View.
On the way to the hotel is too dark and too many potholes. When arrived parking lot is dark. Check in was fine. The room was not properly clean, Tv didn’t work the whole time, no wifi, stained and clogged toilet couldn’t get maintenance to come fix it. No extra sheets and no microwave. The pool was green and bottom was slimy not suitable for anyone to go in 🤮. Bugs 🪳 everywhere in the bathroom and in the bed disgusting 🤢. The property is in desperate need of repairs, maintenance etc. Overpriced food for not enough options. At Breakfast couldn’t even get my breakfast properly and the elder Rasta lady already requesting tips when all we wanted it was a to go breakfast. Overpriced regular breakfast as well not many options either. In the site it states that breakfast is included but you still have to pay for it don’t understand. Elder guy at the bar was the best customer service we received 🙌🏼.

* The electricity goes out at least once a week on the island.
* At night with no electricity the hotel staff won't provide any flashlights to help guests find their way in the dark and there aren't emergency lanterns in the rooms.
* The night we arrived there was no electricity so the staff couldn't run our credit card for incidentals. They expected us to write our credit card information on a piece of paper and when we told them we weren't comfortable with having our information on paper they said they couldn't give us a room. Even though we had prepaid for our 7 night stay!
* Carambola has a backup generator, but the night we arrived they weren't running it. Until we refused to write out our credit card info, and demanded to talk to a manager, then it magically came on. But as soon as the hotel clerk figured out that she still couldn't get the internet, the generator magically shut off again and never came back on.
* Our room was on the ground floor and one of the windows was so warped I couldn't get it to close or lock. Not safe
* We found a huge cockroach crawling across our ceiling. Probably came in through the window. We also saw a tarantula on the walking path outside but thankfully it didn't find it's way through the window.
* After one night, my wife woke up with lots of small bug bites on her feet and calves.
* No hot water in the shower even hours after electricity returned.
* Plants growing out of air conditioners, and many other cases of poorly maintained grounds/equipment.
* The pool water was so cloudy you couldn't see the bottom; lots of visible dirt on the steps where it was shallow enough to see. The paver stones on the deck were loose and jutted up. Not safe for our children to use the pool.
* The hot tub was not working.
* So much litter and weeds!
* The beach did not look like the web site photos.

Quite location friendly staff.
Room was described as having a kitchenette. It did not. That seems dishonest. We were expecting and planned for a kitchenette

The resort was very beautiful. Beautiful beach. Nice pool.
The room wasn't clean and they moved us to a clean room, however there was no microwave or couch. Upkeep of the resort was lacking.

Breakfast was super good. The morning staff was better than dinner staff.I ate at the dinner restaurant nightly cause I didnt venture off campass and wish I had. The wait time from ordering anything including water to receiving it was rediculously long.
Dinner staff needs more training and supervision. If they have time to sing and dance then they should devote just as much vigor to serving the guest what they ordered in a timely matter. There is nothing wrong with having a good time with the guests it is a resort< this I know but there's a time to work and a time to play they need to be taught how to do both without compromising guest satisfaction,

Location
Terrible customer services, nothing was ready, room was released 7Pm at the deal of check in. Nothing was cleaning, old, with dusty in every place. Pool missing parts of the tile, risk for our kids. Perfect place, totally wrong management and team.

Breakfast wasnt included. We got locked out of the room safe and had to wait about 2 hours after 3 attempts of talking to the front desk .
We had to consistently follow up on services . Pool wasn't cleaned daily . Had bugs flowers . Trash on the private beach was still there from the day I checked in till I left .
Service was poor for the price they were charging

I loved the food, the staff, the pool, my room, the view and the location!!! It was everything I hoped it would be and more in a tropical paradise escape. Quiet areas with serene settings. An epic hiking trail that takes you to the most gorgeous tide pools if you're feeling adventurous (absolutely worth the hike) . A scuba diving shop is located right on site for some awesome shore diving and you can kick back to have a delicious meal listening to the waves on the dining balcony in the evening. We got the all you can eat breakfast buffet that they offer every morning. It's $24 a person (as of right now) and I feel it was worth every penny. If you're considering this place do it, you won't regret it.
The only downside is that you have to take a taxi to get anywhere or rent a car- however there's plenty of awesome things to do right at the resort.
